Saints external profile - Shifting Perceptions?
Bucks Saint replied to Miltonaggro's topic in The Saints
I think its really too soon to judge. All of the EPL teams are flush with cash at the moment. Swansea just spent £12m as well. All of the big guns are still to do much in the way of serious business. While I think we will certainly push on, from the outside looking in, most of the clubs are going to be spending big and many will have to do that just to stand still. A better time to call it will be the end of August -
Top man. good luck to him. Now if he could just follow the established pattern and tip us off about a red hot striker that no one else seems to have spotted....
-
Not even any Red now, never mind stripes FFS. Cortese out
-
Wallet saving may not be enough to make up for the injured pride though!
-
Cardiff a B game, Villa a C? Sheesh, sorry Villa fans
-
I have had more embarrassing sticky problems than those TBF
-
We stop being so hugely reliant on Ricky to score, thats what. Apart from SRL we have Jay Rod (inexperienced at this level, but improving, can play in a few positions); Mayuka (jury very seriously out) and Guly (need I say more) and no one else. So we could play 2 up, 1 behind 1 up, rest SRL, or whatever. But it would vastly improve our options and goal threat, as well as cover injuries

In return for which there are very great rewards for those at, or near, the top levels, and a very pleasant lifestyle too, compared to the rest of us
-
No there would be at least 15 of you. All of Billy's family and his agent would agree
-
I hope thats not all. I think he may play football as well
-
Another one who cant understand the word "if"
-
Could have been Ronnie Ekelund, if he had been with us in full health for a season or two
-
Get in Neil Mc!
-
I will be outraged if this does not appear in the Mail online very soon
-
Agree with the sentiment but it was not his first senior start. He started the last league game v Man City the week before, and had a couple of sub appearances too. So it was a second start FFS
-
For all the advances in sports science, diet, awareness of career lengthening etc etc, in the 10 years which have elapsed, I would agree that our squad has never been as fit as it was when Strachan was in charge.
-
Ha. So did Neil Heany. After I pointed out he had played crap that day. Top guy though
-
I thought this thread meant you Baz

Not all footballers are here for the cash. Which many of our current / prospective signings are suggested to be. Plus, if you dont care, dont post. Simple Simo
-
Yes take some of your points but its not unusual even for the mega wealthy - even Markus turned his loans into equity, rather than a straight gift. His shares must be worthless anyway - tiny club clearly barely solvent, so I dont think his gesture was motivated by that.

Iniesta rescues former club. Not all of them are money grabbing self obsessed t#ssers then: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/barcelona-news-andres-iniesta-come-2007110

I am outraged that they are reporting our outrage. Its outrageous.
-
You are right to say that Celtic would, in an ideal world, keep him, but they need the cash. They have spent a bit already, want to make more signings and want to give Gary Hooper a better contract (as they absolutely want to keep Hooper) but they are fairly skint unless the Wanyama deal goes through. I am not saying they will roll over on a reduced price to Cardiff but I dont see them keeping him either
-
Won with a 6. Tremlett wants his England place back apparently! Good luck with that, its normal to take some wickets first buddy
-
Dont want to curse it, but after a poor opening bowling spell, we pulled it back very well and now are chasing down their total very nicely. Decent weather, great setting, healthy crowd. Off to the Oval to see England tomorrow. And then back there to watch Surrey v Hants T20 in a couple of weeks. ...oh crap, Carberry just gone. Doh
