  1. This is non issue for our game. He is a very long way from being fit enough to get a contract, quite apart from anything else
  2. I really dont think they will do anything until the investigation into his conviction is complete, and then only if that turns up some wrong doing in his guilty verdict. IF that happens, and its a big if of course, a lot of the people getting in a frenzy right now may have to climb down
  3. All of this, but (during his years) how many times was it a late MLT goal away from home?! Villa away sticks in my mind, from 30 yards too...
  4. Absolutely this. I was at that game, one of my favourites, but also remember the Solent commentary being played the next night on South Today. Brilliantly passionate from Roger Johnson (now with BBC north west), expressed how all of us felt during the last few minutes of that mad, mad game!
  5. Would imagine Blades will not go near signing him until the investigation until his conviction is complete, allowing them to see what the outcome is. Strangely being fast tracked for some reason. Will take Evans some months to get fit anyway
  6. I believe you are right. The very odd thing is that the other guy (also a footballer, or ex player?) who had sex with her - which I think was also not in debate - was not guilty. Either they both should be guilty of rape, or both not guilty
  7. [quote=Batman;2081565 It's not a one off, here in plymouth, they are flying in league 2 and their number 1 keeper has come from prison after killing people drink driving. (Luke McCormick) This, plus Lee Hughes, makes it hard to understand why they seem to have been accepted back into football but Evans apparently should never be. If it is because he is maintaining his innocence (and interesting that a review of his convinction has already been announced, in some sort of fast track process) then, if thats what he believes he is unlikely to change his view
  8. Its a very good point. Winning is an excellent habit and is the single best method of improving spirit and confidence, no matter what the competition is.
  9. Now you mention it, lets hope we are fully planning to lose the FA Cup 3rd round too
  10. Decent article on the failings of Levy and Baldini, who clearly buy the players but dont take responsibility when they are ****e http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/sam-wallace-tottenham-are-mired-in-mediocrity-created-by-daniel-levy-and-franco-baldini--but-mauricio-pochettino-is-the-one-who-could-pay-9852411.html
  11. A few ways of looking at it. That growth is better than virtually any savings account right now, so its decent . On the other hand, compared to some other pension funds, including mine, thats a pretty low return. Two big BUTs though: 1) pension funds are long term savings by nature, and you can only get a sensible view if you look at a 3 or 5 year return overall. There will be ups and downs along the way. 2) What sort of Fund is it? Is it meant to be low risk, which usually means modest returns? And do you get a comparison with any industry average, for that type of fund, which gives you a better idea if yours is doing ok for its type? If you have a long way to go until retirement, and have some choice about which funds, then its best to get a blend of longer term plans with greater potential like UK equity, global equity, commercial property and perhaps things like natural resources. Funds like bonds, money market, gilts etc are all much less volatile but will give lower returns. Advisors usually say spread the funds about, then keep an eye on them each year but try not to change them for 5 years+ unless they are tanking. As you get nearer retirement, switch more of your money gradually into lower risk funds
  12. Getting people who will settle in quickly, both on and off the field, and adjust to their team mates quickly and have the right character has plenty to do with it. Just ask Liverhampton. Thats a big part of what the recruitment team do.
  13. He will stay if the champions league positions include us I am fairly sure. BTW Did anyone notice the extent of his celebration with Shane at Stoke and again last weekend?
  14. Plus the joys of living and working in N London versus the New Forest etc
  15. Surprised that Levy needs a top experienced recruitment head in order to find his own replacement
  16. I am not convinced that the Blades will sell 29k, so that top tier, or at least some of it, may well be available if we sell ours quickly which I am sure we will. Would be a crime for it to be empty
  17. Sorry thats what I meant. i.e. at least equal with, if not ahead of, STs who have been to other away matches this year. STs who have been to none should be last
  18. Completely agree. Previous round attendance should rank at least equal with STs. In fact, should be ahead
  19. Good to hear that Vincent Kompany is after the sucker
  20. Liverhampton have started a whole thread on us, which to be fair, is mostly complimentary and well balanced http://forums.liverpoolfc.com/threads/366508-Southhampton I do love this reply in particular: Today,13:37 Originally Posted by Bewdleyfan This is why I am not to disheartened about our ability to finish in the top 4. And with the way we're playing and the way they're playing, it's looking likely the gap will increase rather than decrease. I think a lot of people are just being snobs towards Southampton and are just thinking we have some devine right to finish above them and WILL do so. As I say, 11 points. We've got work to do.
  21. I am not sure I am in favour either, but this is spot on, plus he can take a direct free kick better than anyone we have seen so far
  22. His delusion continues. Levy has an impeccible reputation for tolerating Spurs not competing for the top 4 and giving people plenty of time to turn it around if they dont. No worries at all Poch
  23. If we finish strongly this season, it boils down to if they are motivated mostly by salary, in which case its hard to keep them, or more by chance of success / team spirit / happiness / great manager / etc etc , in which case this season may well be a turning point in terms of the relative performance of all sorts of teams
  24. Lol at latest from Brendan. Says it all about who did want to join Rodgers: Tough to tempt stars to Liverpool http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/rodgers-tough-tempt-stars-liverpool-4048081
