Saints vs Sheffield Utd (A) Capital One Quarter Final

Ticket arrived today -
Good. As with most of their Europa "campaign" they won, again, but were disjointed, unimaginative, gave the ball away etc etc. Last night was against the worst team in the already poor group. Oh for them to play someone decent soon

Suggested by the Away Ground Guide (though unsure of trams running later on): Alternatively, if you want to avoid Sheffield City Centre, then you may find it easier to park at Meadowhall Railway Station, near to the well known Shopping Centre (unless of course it is in the run up to Christmas or the January sales, when the shopping centre is very busy), just by Junction 34 of the M1, where you can park for free. You can then take a yellow tram to the City Centre and then walk to the ground. The tram journey time is around 20 minutes and costs £4 return. Mark Needham adds; 'it's worth noting that if you are coming up from the South, that you can leave the M1 at Junction 29 (Chesterfield) and follow signs for Sheffield A61. This is particularly useful if the M1 is slow around J30, as it often is!' -
A big part of the game (for the bowler) is to tempt the batsman to play a shot which either he probably should not have done, or will find hard to direct just as he wants. Just bowling at the wickets is not the game at all, though part of it Really sad news and no blame at all for Sean Abbott

Yep, nuts, although i booked it straight away and then found that East Coast trains offer a Web discount if you buy from them online. -
What happened to his supposed notice period? Either it was very short (seems unlikely) or we were even more relaxed about him leaving and waived it

I paid £27 for my return from kings cross via Retford! -
Great Rickie has scored, so now I am happy for them lose to 5-1

This has a Leyton Orient feel to it - all sorts of people making the effort to be there, because, well, so many other people are. Quality -
I am sorry you are struggling with this, granted it is unusual. I will try to make it clear. Per HMRC: "An employee may benefit from their employment by receiving a benefit that does not take the form of money. Such profits are often called benefits in kind". I am not an employee and I am not in employment. I have my status as a non employee confirmed in writing by HMRC and its been that way for several years. Like I said its ending for me soon (along with my income source) but not for the other 60 odd people with similar arrangements
-
Usually yes of course if you are an employee. But I am self employed, and so there is no taxable benefit arising through my employment. The company is not allowed to claim the whole cost of the car against profits, only the business use element but that does not effect me
-
Zero. I have a company car and very nice it is too. But pay no tax on it as I am self employed. Could never afford it otherwise. Sadly this beneficial arrangement is coming to an end as I am being cut, due to cost reductions. Good while it lasted

Seriously quick to recover when left for dead too

Seriously looking forward to this one. Arriving in Sheffield about 2pm, just enough time for a quick couple -
Wikipedia says he is a winger with Twente. Just saying
-
Done and thanks for doing this. Now, give me that sodding bag to look at!

Plenty of neutrals who somehow stuck with watching that game last night have said how poor it was too. Very few got close to finding Pelle, or anyone else for that matter. Mane had someone else's boots on I think
-
Is it wrong to love Clyne?
-
22% stat just came up, told you. Was not so bad when they had 40%
-
Letting them have some of the ball, we know they will kill us if it drops to 22%
-
Bricking it too. Hate being a clear favourite, its unnatural
-
One of their pacey players was Agbonlahor, as we found at home last season, but my Villa mate tells me he is nowhere near good enough this year and is plainly "fecking fat"
-
Likewise, forgot Ekelund, one of the most talented players we have ever had (MLT agrees). Also tried to think of Delgado FFS, as if he ever scored 5 doh

With a relatively low roof (not so low it hampers the view as I recall from last visit) it also helps create a great atmosphere / noise too!
