I guess we'll know more about the circumstances around his departure by the impending "we've sold him" communication.

He certainly does appear to have been highly professional in his (very) short time here. It's just my view, and maybe I'm not with the times here, but I'll struggle to feel any significant feelings of goodwill to him if he does go. I just think it sucks that players like him and Dibling play for one season, do ok, and then leave. Surely we should expect more from such players (or the club, if they encourage the sales). I'll stop moaning now.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the Early Doors show with MLT at the weekend (with guest Martin Tyler, who was absolutely brilliant). I was fascinated to learnt the following... There have only ever been two Premier League hat tricks scored by players who ended up on the losing team, and he is responsible for two of them (Oldham away and Nottingham Forest at home); His hat trick against Nottingham Forest was the first one in Premier League history to be comprised only of set pieces; He also won all three of the set pieces that he scored from; and That hat trick (in 1995) was the last one scored by a Southampton player at The Dell. Now trying to think how many hat tricks have been scored by Saints players at St Mary's.
