Exactly, which is very fair given that it is a tax and not a service you are directly paying for. My partner pays tax but has no kids so she is missing out on the education provided to our offspring. I dare say we could all pick a few things that we are not utilising yet paying for through taxes.

It depends on how you view things. I would argue that your (then) husband was being very socialist in his actions. People tend to pick which parts of socialism is for them and which bits they will leave and decide doesn't affect them. I would say, and it is just my opinion, that the three biggest influences of political opinion that we decide we belong to is with our views on housing, education and health. Not many socialists seem hell bent on a life of living on council estates yet many still think that despite earning a decent wage the health service and education system is there for them, and I suppose it is. Where I think it falls down slightly is when socialist voting people refuse to see the benefit they are doing to the system if they "opt out" and pay for some things themselves. Your ex hubby was being very socially responsible in A/Getting you treated sooner, and B/Removing you from the list where poorer and less fortunate people were waiting. I feel his actions are far more inkeeping with the original aims of the NHS way back in 1948 when it was introduced. People with money were seeing doctors before the NHS came about and they were expected to way after it was introduced too.

I would settle for doing a Multiple Miggs on her to be fair.

I am on vinegar just imagining it.

They sound like silly principles to me. Socialist, perhaps?

Just out of interest, what day do you normally pick then? Is there a legal day you have to pick? I mean if you got arrested on 28th Feb and you were asked your age would you still be the same age you had been for a year until 1st march came about?

I would agree with this. In a team I once played in, one of the blokes found out his wife was having it away with another players wife. In order to keep things light hearted we fined the bloke who lost his wife for, "Not keeping your b1t(h in order."

Perhaps befriend some students and ask them, as they will probably be younger and have that drive and ambition to go that extra mile?

Where exactly was he spotted?

Was Lowe a lot closer to being right than we give him credit for?

Unhappy at the money they earn mainly. -
To be fair, one or both of you were driving badly. Possibly him, definetly you. Just because his view to the right at a roundabout is clear, that does not mean he has considered it safe to continue. He might have seen something in front of him for instance that you had not seen. Also he may have stalled the car. You are supposed to be driving at a speed that you are always safely able to pull up without hitting the car in front. The reason he has stopped or remained stationary is not an issue.

Would you make her dad watch?

I agree. Not only that, but if I had the choice between making the money I make or earning what he earns AND I had to play football and get racially abused in a mainly black country, I think I would still take his job.

Gary Glitter songs in the family areas?
-
Not to mention Jesse Jackson, Sigourney Weaver and Matt Damon.

Well I suppose if it was all done on teams Man of the Match awards then you might well end up with 4 or 5 keepers and 4 or 5 strikers. I expect he was the best in his position on Saturday.

Only joking matey.

Great use of the Lowe inclusion comment coming up. Well worked in. Can you talk us through the way you did that Colin? "Yeah sure. Well I noticed there was a conversation about football songs, you know, the songs that players jog out on to the pitch to. I had a quick scan through and although it had absolutely nothing to do with the thread, I sensed an opening for a Lowe comment, and I took it. Yes, it could be argued that on it's own the comment doesn't mean anything and even in context it doesn't mean much more, but I still went for it." Thanks Colin. Tune in later when someone will connect Lowe with something else that has no relevance to anything.

I couldn't agree more. When you click on a link and it says "a cracking little player he is...combative with a quality left foot", "best LB we have at the moment", "comfortable and adept going forward ... kept the ball on the floor", "surprisedby how many headers he won being small", "gave us good balance to the team", well, it just makes you glad to know he is our player.

We would look like (u^ts, right?

I am not a Star Wars fan but what are the words to sing along to?

At the end of the day money talks. Good managers want to better themselves, so leave, as money talks. Rubbish managers get sacked, as money talks. Do you really think that had WGS stayed with us because Lowe wasn't in charge and even if he was "happy" he wouldn't now be at Celtic if they came knocking? Hoddle is probably the exception to the money talks stratagy as he would have taken a pay cut to have a bash at Spurs. -

Pretty simplistic view to be fair. Tend to agree on the last bit though.
