Brighton in For Wayne Bridge?
Under Weststand replied to Golac's Cunning Stunts's topic in The Saints
Good luck to the guy. Hope he can re-kindle his passion for the game after being frozen out at City. Could be an excellent signing for Brighton. -
Just got in good news, all starting to come together now. Good signing today & with Buttner to come. Priority's now would be a CB, Right Winger & Goalkeeper.
-
Really don't rate Jenas never have done. Over rated player, if we are going to take a player on these terms I'd rather go for Hargreves.
-
Didn't know we were becoming Liverpool! All red kit is simply awful. Quite like the all white one though!
-
Even now they still don't get it! Love this comment the FL are just holding out as Punishment

Isn't it funny how the football creditors rule has come back to bite them on the a##e. All these great fans favourite's, hailed by the glorious few are now the devil incarnate! LOL The football creditors rule is slowly strangling the last gasps of breath from the rotting corpse, while the vultures pick over the last decent cuts of meat of the bone. The football leagues amendment, is almost certain points penalty, if not worse. I cannot see the FL allowing the dilution of the CVA1 without severe penaltys. It really would send out the wrong message. The U-turn by Birch since the CVA meeting is sending the message to be prepared for the worst. Ultimately Chinny won't care about the points or what league they are in. he will want the last prime ribeye off the bone, and ownership of the fat filled pipes.
-
I wonder what the modification was from the FL? Also this is all dependent on ridding themselves of the magnificent 10 high wage earners. At least another 28-days entertainment to come.
-
But if Baker Tilly are not on side as they are a major creditor in the new CVA. Then the new CVA will be dead in the water? Or am I mistaken here, surely if they want the CVA approved, then they need Baker Tilly to vote for it?
-
Epic LOLage ! They can put that up outside the new Tesco superstore.
-
I see the FL want an amendment should the CVA go through. Could well be except massive points penalty & transfer embargo maybe? Or NO golden share! Maybe wishful thinking but I expect something like that from the FL.
-
LOL the PST want to do a presentation at the CVA meeting. HA HA all very well to make pledges, a whole different scenario when it comes to making good on said pledges. Good luck with that!

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-target-joins-owls-1-3977718 So another poopey target in Christ Maguire has failed to hang on in the hope of going to the bestest & Appys plucky Hero's. What a surprise. Come on Birch wrap this farce up liquidation you know it makes sense.

Whilst it is not the start we would all have picked & is extremely difficult. We are brimming with confidence having just had back to back promotions. We are playing the big teams at the start of the season when we will be full of running & energy! We are an unknown quantity, I'm sure that the big three will hopefully take us lightly. As the fans of City are doing already judging by the fans on sky today. Even if the worst happens & we lose against City Utd & Arsenal, to judge NA against these teams is ridiculous. Looking at the fixture list the end of October will be the time to have a look & see how we are adapting. By then we will have played a good spread of teams up & down the league. In Adkins words if we get tonked don't get to down, if we beat the likes of Utd at home don't get to carried away. We are playing some very good teams with world class players & will undoubtedly get a battering now & then, last season the likes of United, Spurs & Arsenal all took one. accept it & move on. Surely these big fixtures are the reason we wanted to get back to the prem for? Almost forgot the odd 90-million that comes with it LOL

Bring it on the Champions away 1st game. Couldn't have been a more difficult start.
-
Good luck to the guy, he showed he can be a good keeper when he first came. The injury set him back & he's never been able to get a run in the first team. I think he will prove he has the ability as he gets a run of games. Probably the right club at the right time for Bart.
-
They could use some of the £30,000 to pay of the charity's! Now that would be good PR, but I guess not! That would be to much to expect. No keep it at least it will pay TBH for a week. God bless Quality over Quantity DFSCB's

It wouldn't surprise me to see him leave, he seems to be making a lot of noise about having only one year on his contract. Also how unsettling it is for the squad! Pressure on for either a new contract or a pay off into Rosie's account for a mutual consent withdrawal! We all know what happened when it became known that Strachan was leaving, a real drop off in performance at Saints! The loss of champions league for Spurs, and saggy chops being in the last year of his contract, will definitely be unsettling. They will have to make a decision before the start of the season for me. Either back him & increase his contract or get rid.

Big news today then with Rangers seemingly doomed to liquidation & new-co! Also looks like they need an 8-4 vote in their favour to remain in the SPL. Sky sports reporter seemed to indicate that was not a forgone conclusion! In fact he said that at least one chairman had indicated that they would vote against it. I had to laugh at Charles Green, being surprised and shocked that HMRC had indicated that they would vote against his 9p in the pound CVA! He should have done a little investigation, could have tried on here he wouldn't have been surprised then! Still no sign of the mass exodus of the high earners allowing either the PST or Chinny take overs today then? TICK TOCK
-
Possibly Sherlock, but neither play as out & out old style number nine. Both seem intelligent footballers with good movement, both pull wide create chances for others & I can see them working well together.
-
Great news that's the first one tied up. Welcome to Southampton Jay Rodriguez, here's to a long and prolific partnership with SRL, that will establish us back in the prem this year.
-
This is just unreal, so portpin are to try to convince the administrator of CSI (being his puppet) to right off their debt! So they can maybe almost definitely possibly get a slightly higher p in the pound. I can just see that will be an arduous meeting won't it! Hey Comical Andy I want you to drop our debt we owe you, Ok Chinny will do. Surely this cannot be allowed in law? It has to be a conflict of interest here? Everyone knows chinny tried to bribe his way into having comical Andy in charge of the administration at Poopey. How would it be appropriate for him then to wave a charge from CSI to benifit his employer opps sorry one company in admin, at the expense of another company which he is supposed to be getting the best deal from for their creditors? If the FL let this total fraud happen once again & allow Chinny to pass the FPPT then they are just beyond pathetic.
-
With league 1 clubs relying on their home fixtures, & living on tight budgets. The last thing the league needs in the 1st season of their financial fair play is to lose a team in their fixture list! For this reason I think they will require some stringent garantee's that they will be able to complete their fixtures. Or they will not included them in their fixture list! It looks like all hinging around the CVA & getting shot of the high earners, how likely is that? The only reason most of them came to poopey in the first place was the excessive wages on offer. They want their pound of flesh, at any cost to the club! God bless the FCR!
-
The silence from the FL is deafening! Is this the board that are dealing with Poorsmouth. Time is running out fast the decision to continue to allow the football creditors rule could well be the final nail on the perch for them, & not before time! The players wont go unless their contracts are paid up, they can't afford to keep the players & Chinny won't come back in unless it cost's him nothing. All he wants is control over the land the S**t hole sits on nothing more. Worst case scenario is he has to buy it again in the liquidation sale. His decision will be is it cheaper to buy when liquidated or get back control of the club. Are we finally at the end game? Or will this thread get another new twist & a few more laughs.

The chances are that Rodriguez will now know what the package is. He will I,m sure have been on the phone to Cork & Fox sounding them out about the club. His agent will have given him a run down on what if any other interest is likely to transpire. I,m sure that Cortese & Adkins have done what they can to sell the club to Rodriguez through his agent Akinbiyi as well. So if it's true he is coming either today/tomorrow, to see the area & training facilities etc for himself. Then to get the run down from NC & NA then possibly to go for a medical. So there could be a decision by Thursday, but just as likely he could then take the weekend to decide & discuss it with his family. So there could well be no decision until Monday at the earliest, but who knows guess we just have to be patient.
