  1. That is a very revealing and interesting stat and tells its own tale
  2. This, and eloquently put if I may say
  3. Not my battle, down to David Bull and Tim Manns
  4. Once Bitterne, have you ever heard of authoritarinism personality? I think you should check it out and while doing so try and dislodge that big chip on your shoulder and then try and develop your own rather pathetic personality and not leech of others. Take care.
  5. Jay rod is a far superior all round player to Sharp
  6. Why I typed death I don't know - apologies it should be Regrets. I can't edit it, hopefully a mod will
  7. Just been sent a copy of Terry Curran's new autobiography (called Regrets of a Maverick) and as he was with us for a season (78-79) and scored the goal (his only one for Saints) that took us to Wembley, there is a couple of chapters on his life at The Dell. However I am not particularly keen on these books because they tend to make it up as they go along and at least the half this book is about his female conquests (yawn). He is very very damning on L Mac however - in fact I would go as far to say he is being very vindictive and there are even one part I can't mention for fear I would get this forum into trouble. Perhaps our ex manager should be shown a copy because he might have a view on one allegation. Personally I wouldn't waste my money on this hatchet job, but if you are looking for a no holds barred account of what life was like at Southampton FC circa 1978 then flick through it in a book shop. These sort of books are two a penny though.
  8. I agree about people making up rumours to justify their point of view is tiresome but, in the absence of much info officially emanating out of the club, this forum as such, has to rely on a lot of heresay. Personally unless I know where the story has come from I tend to ignore it but just sometimes you hear the same story from several trustworthy people and I tend to pay them more mind. I heard about Lambert's bust up with NA via a PM on here shortly after the Fulham game. At first I was sceptical but then a mate who knows RL's dad came up with the same story and then someone else with connections mentioned it so in the end going by the balance of probablilities I will regard it as true and use it when debating the pros and cons. By and large on here you get to know who to believe and who not to. Thanks for the edit btw.
  9. Stop spoon feeding the trolls
  10. Your post would have been a lot more intelligently received if you hadn't resorted to calling group of people who hold a different view to you "mongs". Straight away a tedious row starts so why do it if you want to make a serious point which evidently you do.
  11. Absolutely Steve, it is a sad day when the local press are too frightened to take on injustice/corruption. This Hall fella has more guts than all of them put together and how that guy Neil Allen is trying to jump on his bandwagon at this late stage is toe curling.
  12. I was there and imo we lost the match at 2pm when the team was announced. So many West Ham fans were smiling all over their faces. One told me they were "terrified" of Lambert. And Wade is right Lambert was dropped for disciplinary reasons after falling out with NA post the Fulham game. Not knocking JayRod by the way - I am sure he will come good and he did OK on Saturday but RL is a talismanic figure and we simply cannpt afford to leave him out.
  13. Why wasn't Ryan Dickson considered yesterday? I think he could have done better than Yoshida who I must say I feel sorry for because he was out of position.
  14. Yep agree with this - Fox is a better back than Yoshida, in fact the forgotten man Dickson is probably better too, but Fox and Dickson's faces do not fit....with someone.
  15. Sums it up for me, I was quite shaken twice yesterday, once when I heard the team news and then by that 2nd H performance. Something aint right.
  16. Heard yesterday (from two separate good sources) that Lambert had serious words with NA following the Fulham game. It would certainly explain why he was on the bench yesterday.
  17. I hear Lambert and Adkins had words after the Fulham game. Lambert very unhappy at where he was playing and being substituted for Do Prado. I think yesterday's decision to leave him on the bench was political. Every WHU fan I met afterwards could not fathom why we left him on the bench.
  18. Norway Saint - I understand where you are coming from and it is about time some of this was substantiated I agree, but I do think there are possibly legal reasons why certain people are not being more expansive. Over the years there have been plenty of times when I have been dying to post something but without proof etc etc I hesitate. I do think Matt should now put up or shut up and when I see him next I will tell him. He doesn't like NC, fair enough but if he is going to go public then he needs to back it up. Understand the reasoning behind your response.
  19. Dangerous territory for me but here goes. Simon Peach - imo is a good journalist, an informative tweeter and someone whose opinion I have come to respect. We like it when he tells us "nice" things (Ramirez signing) but not when he tells us "uncomfortable" things, For Christ sake give the guy a break - he just reports what he hears. That is his job. MLT - a straight, honest guy who gave this club plenty and much much more besides. A big fan who loves this club and does so much for charity etc etc etc. He does not like NC. Fair enough he is entitled to his opinion. NC - I have never met him so I can't comment on his personal qualities or personality, I have heard plenty of rumours but he has never done me any harm and has allowed me the privilege of keeping "official historian" status so personally I have no complaints. He has more than delivered in terms of where this club is now compared to where we were when he took over. But he is not God and if Matt wants to criticise and Simon wants to report it, let's just accept that and let's not shoot the messenger or his source. Life is full of people who do not get on the trouble is people on this forum turn every development into a contest of who is right and who is wrong.
  20. What was it that made his Dad leave Spain for the UK?
  21. Agree 100%, while the morons are not properly punished then this sort of thing will continue
  22. Yes it is starting to look increasingly like that and I now think it impossible for the FL to hand the baton to Chanrai so Micah Hall's probing tipped the scales and has ensured liquidation. I think he thought his research would tip the scales towards the Trust but his gamble will back fire I am sure. If I was Birch liquidation it is the safest bet, anything else opens up the biggest can of worms imagineable.
  23. This kid has Chanrai's balls in a vice-like grip
  24. Exactly, this is going to run and run and is getting murkier by the day. Birch has been caught between a rock and a hard place and there is no even half-decent solution for him. This is going to get really heavy and for one I can see liquidation as being Birch's best option - anything else is going to end up in a long drawn out legal battle which the club or the trust can ill-afford. Pull up an armchair if I were you.
