Oh gawd, I now feel old. For an additional Liverpool connection does "ale house brawlers" ring a bell? :-)

Danbert, worth mentioning again but you have to be a bit quicker to be up-to-date with this thread! Have a look earlier...

Hah! Colin will implode. The Gyardian live feed: "I am not certain Neil Warnock respects the democratic will authority of the officials. " :-)

All local football is off round here and everybody is down the pub watching, but going there and jumping up and down when Sunderland score is probably not a good idea, and schadenfreude is not a virtuous feeling. If enjoyable.. Radio Solent it is then..

Aargh, glad you wrote that as I hadn't realised it had been changed. I'd better start changing my social arrangements...

It's even worse listening to the live commentary on the radio! And breathe..

I was bored to tears with my IT job years ago and accepted voluntary redundancy. Probably been on 50% or less of that salary ever since but have never regretted the move. It did help having the mortgage virtually paid, and I would assume the poor love has savings and other things he could do for income and self-respect.

I thought his name was Factless Allen..

I'm sure you do, I was just feeling a bit cynical. Use the auction facility and not the buy it now and find out! There's a load of chancers on ebay and prices asked at times seem purely random. I'd suggest you'd get more like £50 unless a bidding war starts. -
Latest from another article regarding the two aircraft: they both didn't have an angle of attack indicator which is an optional extra.. 'The angle of attack indicator will remain an optional extra that airlines can buy, according to the New York Times report. “They’re critical, and cost almost nothing for the airlines to install,” Bjorn Fehrm, an analyst at the aviation consultancy Leeham, told the newspaper. “Boeing charges for them because it can. But they’re vital for safety" '

I get the impression with Mo that he's aware he's not cutting it on the pitch and I didn't with Hoedt. That's the only tangible grounds for optimism I can hold on to. Maybe he'll spend a summer like Redmond and come back improved and stronger; we can but hope.

Thanks. I think that's the point I meant, allowing the input of the pilot, whereas in the recent cases it seems the system thought it knew best. In the Staines crash I referred to the crew incorrectly over-ruled the stall warnings. The dynamics in the recent case seem more complicated.

You should have a look at the 'Southampton Women' thread which went seriously off-topic.I did at least get my full bingo card of posters/expected responses. Funny how they post on subjects they're not interested in.

I think so, but that it's difficult if you aren't prepared for it! I seem to recall some years ago now that a pilot on a rear three engined aircraft (DC-10/tristar?) was able, following mechanical failure to alter the attitude of the nose by adjusting the relative power to the lower 2 and upper single engine. I'm not sure that could ever be anticipated by a program. Ultimately I think I'd be happier for a human to intervene after accurately identifying the problem (i.e. not Captain Keys or the Air France disaster..).

It's worth what someone will pay for it. Obviously not £1200, or £700 for that matter. -
Yep, looks like the house has been gussied up by a professional scattering a few clothes and shoes around. So where's he actually living? The furnishings, I thought, made it look a bit like I imagine a high class brothel might be. The sort Trump would like.

The Guardian feed of the match finished with a tongue in cheek comment: "Tadic looked good, perhaps some premiership club should take a punt on him"..(I forget the exact words)

_I_ have an agenda? You write the agenda and then doctor the minutes. Many, including myself have been saying he is rapidly improving. None of us are saying he is the finished article, but we haven't dismissed him like you have..
-
You are consistently negative and if anybody shows an ounce of positivity you denounce them as "Happy Clappers". He's young, to my mind (and many others) he's improving, and he's being given the opportunity to do so. What would you prefer, buying ready made players we can't afford, or ones that we can afford but aren't quite good enough?
-
Did you notice who was playing for Fulham last night? One Calum Chambers, for whom Arsenal splashed out £16m at one stage, so I don't know why you are scoffing at the suggestion. Whether, like Chambers, he'll make it all the way is another matter.

Not in my part of the Itchen, and there's often a few absent around me. Kingsland opposite looked pretty full too; the gaps were in the away end and Family centre, which is as you'd expect on a week day night.

Speak for yourself sweetheart. I haven't read everything she has written but a lot appears to be crap. I'm aware of 4 transwomen in the local football I play in: tier 6 and 7 so the lowest there is. I've only heard disparaging comments from the touch line, none whatsoever from any player, nor any complaints about them playing. We leave that to the snowflake guys.
