  1. Don't be a bigger **** than you are normally. This really isn't the time.

  3. I presume it will be on the telly, so make sure you all make a good noise.
  4. Given that they go on about their crowds, and ignoring the Sunderlands of this world they may have a point, where is all the ticket money going? Shoring up Fratton Park? Edit: just checked and they are second behind Sunderland (-14k ish) and 2k and 4k approximately above the next two teams.
  5. I've heard that it is going to be tried out at grass roots level next season.
  6. Yep, that's why Celta Vigo didn't even have him on the bench for their last match, obviously didn't want him to get injured...
  7. Bale didn't get off the bench for Real Madrid in the last match of the season. That's one player I would welcome back. ;-)
  8. More likely didn't see it..
  9. The lass is pretty: she's probably thinking 'what a t*sser'. As to the football, hmm, let's be polite, a bit basic. At least Sunderland seemed to have spells of snappy to-feet passing with some defensive hoofs. Portsmouth _only_ had hoofs
  10. As long as they keep off my bird feeder. At least I get fit chasing them off..
  11. I'd say he still has some growing to do but the potential is there. I only say the last part of the game but I thought that Marcus Barnes did OK in the air against taller centre backs. Not as physically imposing as N'Lundulu but he puts himself about a bit. Incidentally isn't it nice not to have a reserve team entirely of blond midgets as in the past!
  12. Look at the picture in the thread; 5 happy, smiling faces. At least I think the squirrel is smiling.. Anyway, perhaps the new company is one of those crowd sourced thingummyjigs, and being Chinese it was a big crowd? It all seems a bit odd. Presumably if they are going to do a proper launch it will be after the European finals? I've heard that the Chinese government has some strategic aims with regard to football, but this all seems a bit amateurish.
  13. I think many people on here have a poor opinion of our goal-keeping coach and head of recruitment: might they be going? ;-)
  14. Whilst we could no doubt do with quite a number of new players I'm not sure wholesale changes over one transfer window are either possible or desirable. I was listening to some radio programme commenting on all the purchases Fulham made last summer, which at the time people thought would help them, but in retrospect it was argued that perhaps they should have retained more of the core of their team which got promotion. I think the "yeast" approach is better: a few decent players to lift the stodge of the rest of the team when the heat is on next season. We don't really want any of the loanees back (apart from having a look at Boufal I'd say) although how we're going to get rid of them I really don't know. That's ignoring people like Reed who would be an asset to some club. Goodbye Austin and Forster (somehow) and other bit part players. I'm going to retain some optimism for the summer if only because the drip of negativity from some posters on here isn't reflecting realism, they're just tedious and repetitive, and it's far better to address life with a bit of positivity.
  15. I'd rather have defenders who go in hard.
  16. snig ger. Sod me, this US software censoring. Can't they put s****** and S****horpe in to some exception list?
  17. I kept quiet. Didn't mean I didn't give a disguised rueful smile and a silent s******.
  18. Austin is more Old Kent Road..
  19. Just got back from a birthday 'do' in Portsmouth. On my table they were watching the game on a phone. They know I'm a Saints supporter but I had the decency to keep quiet. :-)
  20. There have been a number of articles I've seen from various sources in different countries that have been pretty damning of Boeing's actions (and those of their regulator). If I were a professional pilot I'd be livid.
  21. Thanks Batman. Let's hope we have a similar result to the one against Coventry on the last day. Wasn't that 4-0? Every sympathy to Hudds though: some cracking pubs there..
  22. There's definitely only one Alpine! I'd agree there is some doubt about the others..
  23. Obviously Liverpool gained a remarkable victory but the problem of listening on Radio 5 live is that you can't exactly turn the sound of the hysterical commentators down like you can with TV.
  24. Oh well. That was a a bit depressing apart from the start of the first half. I thought FF was OK in the first half until we gifted the ball to them for their goal: mainly Valery's fault but Stephens dropped back when he should have been closer for the simple square ball that was played. For the second Arnautovic did handle but if the keeper is going to punch, rather than hold, get it away from the middle of the goal. I was listening to a commentary in Portuguese: Long completely missed the ball and they mentioned that he had 4 goals in 5 games and then I think they were being sarcastic about was was needed to score in the Premier. His lack of skill was certainly evident today. As for Mo I thought he looked a bit stronger but presumed he'd be substituted before the end. The fact that he wasn't and then got cramp I put down to RH making a couple of points: to the player that he needs to get much fitter if he is going to play (90 minutes?) in the top division, and to the management that this is what I have to work with. Overall I don't think you can say anybody had a _good_ game although the match thread was full of the usual "everybody is crap and we're already doomed for next year" over the top reaction. We certainly had better play more effectively against Huddersfield.
  25. Forster and Mo in! JWP, Redmond and Oriol on the bench. Can see a couple of them coming on..
