Who cares about priorities? The outcomes were poor as they left us without adequate cover or skill in much needed areas. We can argue about semantics and whether the club 'tried' in various places, but we are where we are. Which is in a position with lots going forward, and precious little to stop them going in at the other end. The Premier League all know this.
Have been saying this for ages. Defence is very poor, and without any depth. Yoshida untested.
I'd have spent £5m on an excellent CB, and then another £5m on another. The rest I would have spent on a keeper. Oh, and Fox isn't up to it either. To ignore all this is negligence.
Yes, fair point. It would just be nice if the club paid attention to the more pressing areas in need of strengthening (which does not mean ejecting players) and not piling on the attackers. Seems very blinkered approach to me, which is upsetting when our non-marking defence lose it in Fergie time. PS where DID those four minutes come from? Anyone know?
He's gone back into Sunderland mode. Too old. Too slow. Part of a bad defence we don't seem interested enough in bolstering. But hey! Let's just get another striker to balls up team spirit shall we?
Cannot believe we've splashed untold millions on a player we don't need and not bought a new defence (aside from Clyne). Ridiculous. Invisible keeper too.
BBC Sport's Jeremy Butler: "Championship club Charlton are in talks with Premier League side Southampton over signing 29-year-old midfielder Dean Hammond."
Gaston Ramirez has nearly, almost, not quite, about to, set to, could be, might be, may, will, surely, should, possibly, probably, potentially, thought to, understood to be, signed for Saints.
