  1. jebus! that dont happen often...!! good odds on only 5 finishers....
  2. 4 down and 11 behind. almost as exciting as the England game... maybe not. not so sure about the draw still, lose a couple before tea only 40 head and we could be in for a nervous final session. is it 80 overs a day in 4 day cricket?
  3. who said test cricket is dull? bit of backbone, great fighting spirit of course there needs to be changes, prob monty out onions in, but for now we can enjoy the gutsy performance and lol at whoever said in your tiny face ponting
  4. hey, teacher. leave them kids alone i could put that to music.....
  5. im waiting for the scary monster type thing to appear on the screen and make me shat my pants...
  6. some pretty ordinary bowling against two men digging in. i have to say i switched off at tea and didnt bother watching it again for the rest of the day. im thinking today will be different, we'll get amongst them, knock them over with the scores pretty much level, maybe 10/20 runs either side of our score. a draw looking the favorite with the poor weather approaching
  7. you can prove anything with statistics!! and anyway, KP will get to 100 whilst Smith is stranded on 98... i take your point re S/R but would still have KP any day and twice on sundays.
  8. smith is boring, dull, wont take many chances - if any - sure he'll grind you out 50 runs in 150 balls, but if i'm paying to watch and i do pay to watch, gimme an entertainer everyday of the week. the sky boys (or was it radio 4) summed it up when collingwood was partnering pietersen. he grinds out decent scores nowadays, but would you find a bar at a cricket club anywhere in the world that would empty when collingwood or smith came into bat? i think maybe not. pietersen however, he'll empty a bar all day long. he's getting to be like marmite (KP not bungle), you either love him or hate him. like one of our old players, matt le tissier. i just think you gotta have him in your team, i'd want him with me not against me. the aussies are sht scared of him, replace him with Shah (for example) and you say goodbye to the ashes. no, i know you're not saying to drop him, at least i dont think you are.
  9. he IS a top quality batsman DEPSITE throwing his wicket away once in a while. i can think of maybe 3 times in 100 odd innings when he's done so. i aint gonna deny it was a carp shot, but his silly shots are what makes him the dangerous player he is. ps hauritz is aweful !!!
  10. Mine did, have lowered the resolution to low or medium and is fine now
  11. i teabagged DLT
  12. i'd have said the same at the start of the last ahses over there, look what happened! to be honest, i dont think any result would surprise me. 5-0 to them, 5-0 to us, 2-2, 3-2 either side, anything can happen. my skyplayer is subscribed, i am ready!
  13. Steve I admire your optimism! I think we'll win the first one at Cardiff (****** Cardiff??!!! Silent W in ECB continues...anyway, thats another argument), then lose the 2nd after letting the excitement of the 1st test win get to us! I think we'll win at Cardiff (spit) for the same reasons you do. A 2-1 win either way is my fence sitting prediction!!! The opening batsmen from both teams hold the key. Watching the 2005 series Straus and Trescothick got us off to blistering starts so many times, gave us the impetus to push on and gave our bowlers something to bowl at. My worry is being able to take 20 wickets in 2 or 3 games....if anderson leaks runs and flintoff gets injured again (quite likely i feel), we could really struggle.
  14. ignore that!! going to get mine tomorrow. woop and i hope, de doo
  15. didn't think they went on sale til tomorrow?
  16. great result. agree with most on here in that i thought we were probably 30-40 runs shy of what we should have got, but 271 was always going to be a tough ask. as for the final, no KP shouldnt play but if he does i hope the management will pick him for the right reasons. sussex i think will start as clear favorites, i so hope we turn them over. there's no county i dislike more than them. i blame Adams, all his fault. he was a smug tw*t who always did well against us, hopefully now he's gone we can stick it up 'em....
  17. 80-1 shot? blimey... hatch gets off to a winning start...
  18. steve, any catches on this? anything like got to sign up for a year, first two months free then they'll sting me for a tenner a month or something daft like that?
  19. friend of mine has organised a plane up, about 15 going i think. something like 190 the flight and entrance. got the inlaws over til about 3 ish, so wont be there, but will leg it down the boozer after they've gone to see the 2nd innings and hopefully watch us get to the final. if we make the final its nailed on i'll go.
  20. well in that case i truly do not understand festivals at all then. i thought a musical festival was about the music. i stand corrected. i shant comment further
  21. well, thats me told then isnt it? wowsers, the only internet forum i know where you cant have an opinion! no, i didnt go, but i would like to think i see a decent amount of live music in a year, so would also like to think i know what a good gig is when i see and hear one. my views were the line up wasnt inspiring, and was it just the usual spiel by the usual people saying it was the best ever? i'll shut up shall i?
  22. am i the only one who thought glasonbury was mediocre at best? all the "professional" journos are say ing stuff like wow best ever etc...what an uninspired line up...Franz, Springsteen, Cosby Stills Nash, Quo, Neil Young. Thought Blur were ordinary, but again thats been contradicted by the radio reports. 5/10
  23. shoulda known to back the same horse as snatch..
  24. sorry, i've backed it each way. 14's was too good to pass up. 2nd in his or her last class 3 outing, lets hope it goes 1 better
  25. last night Dimi left him out the bowling attack cos all the spinners were getting spanked for a hatful. personally I was concerned about his tactics last night, playing the seamers, giving them two overs a time potentially allowing the batsmen to get their line. he said in the post match he was a bit worried 5 overs out when they were very much in it, tahir was getting a bit of a caning too (so i guess he knows what he's doing! ). wasnt the most convincing victory for me but we were up against a team with nothing to lose and we were on the back of a defeat, so a wins a win Lumb is in awesome form, another victory friday (i'll be there! woop) and it sets up the final game against essex just nicely...
