  1. is she filthy man on holiday? no updates for 2 days... boooo
  2. i like brighton hth
  3. enjoyable read, love Mr Fry, read all his books. One tiny criticism... no need for that paragraph at all imho. i dont believe messrs gower botham hussein et al are bitter, they have earned the right to criticize the way they feel fit. they wouldnt for a moment say they never made a mistake nor imply that, they're paid by their employers to contribute and thats what they do great speech tho. top notch
  4. RIP that man. Fabulous England manager, took us from the days of the turnip to so close to being world cup finalists. his comment after we were beaten in the semi by west germany was fantatsic. he said "if we'd got to the final, i cant say for certain we'd have beaten Argentina, but my god, my mortgage would have been on it." RIP
  5. i see we reached the pivotal part of the test where England throw it away
  6. yep, spot on imho would have been nice to get to finals day, but hey ho. we went to lords last week. we won the FP trophy. thank you very much....!
  7. ah yes, the chappie who played for us last season. took about 15 wickets in 5 twenty20 (or FP) games. stupid average - about 15 - too if i recall correctly
  8. i cant believe they are still not going with Clarke (or are they?) he's got a track record for taking wickets in this country, bowls well in the conditions. is ponting obsessed with the fact johnson is ranked 3rd in the world, and wont back down? odd
  9. just got the nod to sod off at 5, so wont miss any if its on if we get to finals day, its on my wedding anniversary. i've a feeling it'll be my last....
  10. tomlinson was his name i believe
  11. yep, bell and carberry both in form, but bell has test experience, whilst carberry has none. i dont like bell, think he's got massive flaws in his game, the aussies have him sussed. its not a good recipe for sure. but he's in, so im hoping the sherminator (as warnie calls him!) does well. bopara needs an innings. he's getting a bit flash and cokky, and has done nowt so far. edgbaston is a good hunting ground for us, but think its gonna be a tough call. england by 3 wickets.
  12. phil Taylor stats speak for themselves but many dont view it as a sport
  13. battered great day, nice cheap cheeseburgers at 6 quid a pop, and lager at 3.70 or something like that , but couldn't care less. was in the mound stand l, great atmosphere, corky was awesome, winding up the Sussex fans straightening his shirt out and showing them his name !!! lols
  14. what a waste of time and energy! thankfully we're not fielding today, 9 players can at least rest up, think there's a slightly more important game tomorrow....
  15. i went on the coach (from rose bowl) in 2005. shant be doing that again!! train for me this time, coach took so bloomin long, didnt get back to fair oak til gone 11, hardly any time for additional brews....!!! but im sure your experience will be different 8.08 train from parkway. i'll be the drunk one not making any attempt to be sober. please come give me money
  16. as i too am. is that a gramatically correct sentence? i googled mound stand lords, looks a bit posh it does!!!
  17. EXTREMELY hard chance tho steve altho it was in the mitt, looks like it fell out on landing...! you going saturday?
  18. damn you westwood !!! so close, and hindsight is a wonderful thing but had he not attacked the putt on the 18th and just "got it close" he'd have been in the play off too! but you cant assume the leader is going to duff it so hey ho. start of play i was quietly confident of a 1-2 ! didnt for a moment think watson would continue to play well, good man.
  19. why am i still not bothered by this partnership? i really should be nervous, but i'm not. we'll get one of them sometime soon, prob in the first half hour, then we'll take the remaining wickets at regular intervals, i expect auz to fall short by about 80-90 runs. watch this space. ps my sky player is ****ing around. couldnt watch any of fridays play, the player was telling me i've changed computer for viewing already this month. erm, no, fixed pc, it dont change....so, got email thru on saturday night saying they've reset all my settings and i can therefore hopefully watch this morning (not the schofield version)
  20. wow. matt prior gets bowled by a great inswinger and he's got to be dropped if he doesnt get a massive score next innings and never fluffs a ball when we take the field? jesus. im no prior fan either but the bloke is averaging 48 with the bat, his last 10 innings before yesterday are 63, 42, 61, 131*, 15*, 39, 64, 0, 2, 33 yep, have a go at Pietersen, Collingwood and Bopara for their dismissals but slating Prior for his batting at the moment is harsh and Bell? good god no !!! been there, done that, he cant play the aussies so why try again
  21. aaah that explains what i geard then! thats what happens when customers have the cheek to phone up whilst im trying to listen and watch the game! grr i say... good start. solid. bowling as woeful as ours was last test. huzzah!!!
  22. 57-0...apparently their highest ever partnership together!! pretty poor when you consider how many efforts they've had at it....
  23. had a punt on westwood, kim, mcilroy and fisher, all e/w. i dont expect a return, cos im poop at betting
  24. yep, split the cricket world in two it has but yep, agree, he's done the right thing at the right time.
  25. since 2005 i believe we have a better record without him playing than we do when he has. so statistically we're better off without him, but as per the smith/KP debate you can prove anything with statistics! i'd rather he played, but only a 100% fit Freddie, which sadly is a rare event in itself. if he's remembered for nothing else it'll be the ashes in 2005. a top player at the top of his game. mind you, took him a while to get there! very ordinary to start....
