Deep crosses to our absent centre forward really aren’t going to work. Got to fizz it in low surely when we get high and wide
-
Surely we’ve seen enough of Downs to know there’s absolutely zero point getting him on the pitch unless we’re cruising and the game is won
-
Man for man we should be absolutely miles ahead of this lot. But we don’t seem to have any patterns of play or ideas how to create chances or sustained pressure. Boring as fuck and I feel like he’s just rotating the squad and hoping to stumble on a half decent way of playing
-
Every week. Sick of it
-
Wrexham yes, he came on for a bit and scored a FK. Watford away, it was his defensive fuck up that gave them their first equaliser, that can cancel out his FK. He never gets close to stopping a cross, he’s the first to put a foot on the ball and slow us down, he’s slow, and clearly he’s unprofessional and/or stupid for walking to the lino for a chat rather than defending first. Not good enough IMO
-
What’s really doing my head in is we keep employing managers who seem not to see the glaringly obvious us fans talk about: Bazunu was never going to be good enough - it’s cost us points Manning can’t defend for shit - it’s cost us points Stephens is shit…. Downs is beyond shit… Arma can’t play up top on his own… Archer can’t play up top on his own… It all seems so obvious but takes a manager 2 months and shitloads of games without winning to work it out?
-
It’s the manager picking these individuals who continually let us down. Manning is utter dog shit who occasionally looks competent. Slows us down, can’t defend, doesn’t think. As for bringing Downs on, what the fuck is the point.
-
Downs is pathetic, awful sub. I’d have dragged him back off
-
He’s been directly involved in more goals conceded, from shit defending, than he’s scored. Couple of free kicks is no reason to persist with a shit defender IMO
-
Can’t defend for shit. Even if he’s right that’s so unprofessional
-
I fucking hate the refereeing in this league. That’s the easiest advantage to play on and book him later. Clown
-
Determined to concede here aren’t we. Shit at the back this season however we set up
-
Got to score there. More decent centre forward play from Stewart
-
Pathetic defending from Watford gives the skates an early lead. Wankers
-
Just watched their highlights from last night and they looked pretty open defensively against Charlton. Their last 5 they’ve drawn with Charlton, Wrexham and Ipswich, and lost 1-0 at WBA and Preston at home. No rollovers, but also not very good
-
Bit of a weird game. Thought we were absolutely rubbish in spells, slowing it down at every opportunity, more boring crab football. Really subdued away end because of it. And some rubbish defending from Quarshie to let Campbell walk round him for a shot on goal. But we also managed to create quite a few decent chances, they couldn’t handle Stewart which was great to finally see. First away win in what felt like years for me, worth the long trip
-
Went 1-0 up and absolutely shit ourselves, just waited for their equaliser. Manning is ok if we’re on top as a LWB but will never be good enough defensively. Too often we wanted to go backwards, sideways, anything but forward. Liked that WS dropped the CB combo from recently, but has a lot more work to do. Need 6 points from Sheff U and Derby away, which won’t happen, there’s going to be some serious pressure on his position going forward
-
Quite possibly. And we’ll revert back to lofting in floaty crosses to an absent 6’4” striker
-
Would be a good way to show some balls and prove to the players that you get a start based on merit. The fans would appreciate it as well, what we’ve seen so far hasn’t worked at all.
-
Positive that last night should’ve given WS some selection headaches. The flip side is we’re 7 weeks into the season and nobody has a clue how best to set up, what our best side might look like or how we’re going to turn decent buildup play into a goal with our non striking strikers
-
Also apart from his touch, finishing and positioning. And workrate
-
Stewart must be really shit in training if Downs is getting the nod every time
-
The sequence leading to that goal, we’ve looked to play backwards when it wasn’t on about 3 times, with much easier passes forward or safely into the channels. What the fuck are we thinking. And Macca, put your fucking foot through it. That completely sums us up
-
Desperate for him to do well and we can’t keep sacking managers, but he needs to turn it around really fucking quickly and get the team at least showing some fight and basic competence. We’re absolutely disgracefully bad at the moment and getting worse
