Or a goodbye. Pretty savage choice of photo if that's the case though.

Fonte looking like he's pledging his allegiance on Instagram

I highly doubt that.

I'll love it if Everton carry on with this 'we've got a warchest' line, but actually fail to sign anyone that'll improve them. Arsenal seem to be having the same issue, all of their top targets just aren't interested.

Can we just call him Pete? Maybe it'll stick.

Police shooting people dead during routine traffic stops, murdering people in the street on camera, people shooting police in revenge attacks.... But it's nothing to do with the relaxed gun laws over there. In fact the country would be a much safer place if everybody carried a gun. America's obsession with guns and pointing them at people during the most routine of situations is disturbing and it's no surprise things go wrong so often. The lack of intelligence over the whole situation is baffling.

Shouldn't have to take a day off work to get to a WEEKEND Premier League fixture. Tossers.

We've got plenty enough helmets on this forum, we don't need a load of helmets from Liverpool trying to rub it in. Smash through the glass ceiling eh? Which clubs exactly to you intend on displacing in the top 4/6? Every club and agent will know Everton have money to burn and £100m isn't exactly much these days. Ask Liverpool. Aimlessly throwing money at a problem doesn't work. I'm confident we'll be above Everton for a while yet.

What is there to update? Ron has his head turned and will sign soon, Les and Co will be busy lining up his replacement and the media will be in full on Southampton Meltdown MKIII mode

As long as we keep losing our best players and managers, the 'what if' will always be there. What if we kept everyone together at the end of the 13/14 season and added like we all hoped we could. Ditto last season. Leicester just won the title and finished 17 points ahead of us, you could argue that every side has missed an opportunity to do something special. The fact that we started slowly and won 1 in 10 in the winter and STILL came 6th would suggest that there was potential for so much more. It was an amazing season and a great achievement to beat last season's total, but it was probably the easiest Prem season in history where so many of the traditional big clubs had lost the plot, along with some awful sides at the bottom.

It's just a shame that it seems no matter how well we do, we'll just keep getting raided and pushed around and ultimately fail to achieve 'what could have been'. In the grand scheme of things we should just enjoy these few seasons of punching above our weight, but it there's always that hope that if things go our way then we can make ourselves a long term force in the top few in this league. To do that we're going to have to stand up to the likes of Everton, West Ham, even Spurs and Liverpool. I don't think we've got that in us unfortunately with the current setup.

Stek doesn't seem to make many proper mistakes, but he just doesn't seem to ever save anything that's on target. Spurs would've put at least 4 past him on Sunday IMO

They'll need a bit of work IMO, not sure it'll catch on

Yeah Prague is really good, recently went to Budapest for a stag as well. There were 24 of us which I was concerned about before we went but the place was brilliant for it. Went to a shooting range to try out some different weapons, went on these beer bike contraptions for a couple of hours around the city, and spent the rest of the time drinking 90p pints, clubbing and spending time with naked women.

@BenaliOnTour on Twitter. Just a bit of fun by a group of lads who do a lot of Saints and England away games.

Stoke are excellent value at 19/10 with William Hill. They've got 3 wins and a draw from the last 4, we look shocking and are missing key players. Can only see one result here.

Season over, shame. Lack of movement up top is costing us, not helped when the ball isn't sticking when a pass finally found Tadic, Pelle, Mane. Clasie my MOTM. He at least looks forward at the first opportunity and gets us moving up the pitch. Ref isn't the reason we didn't win, but that's 3 games on the bounce I think we've been harshly treated. Early bookings were a joke.

Nobody in the middle of the park was composed enough to put a foot on the ball and play through midfield. Too many rushed clearances and hopeful balls into the channels which just resulted in losing possession again. Sooo many sh*t lofted balls into attacking positions as well which never came off. What's that trying to achieve?! Mane spent more time having to challenge for headers than he did receiving the ball to feet. Bournemouth worked hard and deserved to win, but if we'd been anywhere near as good as we can be we'd have beaten them, they're not very good and we pretty much gifted them their goals. Ref had a shocker as well, bad decisions both ways but gave them everything they wanted.

Agree with most. Forster Cedric Fonte VvD Bertrand Targett Clasie Romeu Davis Long Mane

The sad thing is, the current squad will look and see how our former players have got on with their moves "for champions league football" and "to fight for trophies", but I highly doubt any would be any less inclined to push for a move if the opportunity arose. At least now if someone was leaving for Liverpool, they'd just have to admit that it was for the money.

^^sounds like a good plan. I got out yesterday for the first time since Boxing Day. I've been working insane hours recently so have struggled for time, but I've just bought the kit I need to start cycle-commuting. It's 18 miles each way so with any luck I'll start to see some improvement fairly quickly from regularly doing a few miles. I'm sure it's from knocking it at work the other day but I started to get some pain in my knee yesterday after about 20 miles so I cut it short and limped home, I've never been completely happy with my setup of the bike some I'm booking in for a 3D retul bike fit at my LBS, hoping that'll help.

They really are in poor form. Love it. Interesting debate on the red/blue border. I grew up living right on the border, the red path by my house divided SO31 and PO14. I was at Brookfield school from 98-03, the number of lads in my year that were Liverpool, United, London club fans soon became skate fans as soon as they got promoted. "I've always supported them", "they've always been my second team" etc etc Absolute nightmare when we got relegated as well, but you don't hear a peep these days and I don't think many of them go to FP regularly any more. I'd say Warsash and Locks Heath was always more red than blue, they just had a few years of gathering armchair fans of other clubs. Some lads I go to games with live in Fareham/Stub, there are quite a few Saints round that way as well.
