A slightly different angle on this… if Villa really did offer/pay £30m for him, I’m sure Saints pushed him out of the door! We’d have to take that for a player who is 29, picks up a lot of niggles and had less than a year in his contract. It’s probably not the dream move he had hoped for either (City, Man Utd, Spurs, etc) but if they are paying him a lot more and have sold him an ambitious plan, then it suits all parties. I just hope we reinvest well.

Out of interest when did you order? I ordered one on 16th June and still not arrived.
-
Has there been any information from the club yet on 'Membership'? Would probably suit me better this season. Maybe that's their concern, and they worry more will opt for membership over ST's, so waiting to sell a few more of those first.
-
I'm not so sure it will be the younger age groups for the earlier games, as I believe proof of double vaccination is going to be needed, is that right and confirmed? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2021/07/13/covid-passports-masks-required-sporting-events-england-july/

I think that's Sammy Lee? Played a couple of games on loan for us that season. Edit - Sorry, just read above that you know its Sammy Lee Tired... hungover...

Its not for others to worry about what @manzo is worried about. Each to their own and all that.
-
Can you let us know if it has the crest on when it arrives? Ive noticed that the pics have them blurred out, but not sure if thats to avoid any legal issues at point of sale or if they will actually be crest-less on arrival?

How many years we have been at St.Mary's, I believe.
-
I thought I recognised him 😁
-
I would guess he chose what club to support based on more than just their kit!?
-
I've also just read that he's scored the most non-penalty goals in the Premier League after Kane, since the start of last season! Would have been a useful asset. JWP better make the final squad
-
He's played 97 games for us in the last 2.5 seasons, and scored 46 goals (he's had covid and a few niggles, but hardly glass and hardly meh). He played 30 games this season (some as sub) and scored 13 goals, which isnt a bad return when playing for a dross team. I feel gutted for him, and find it hard to believe there are 10 attackers picked who are better than him. 100% he would be going to the Euros with a return like that if he played for a 'bigger' club.
-
Not by their fans he wasnt: https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/may/Martinez-voted-Supporters-Player-of-the-Season-/ But yes, he's had a great season. Sadly the timing wasnt right for us to be able to keep him for when we needed him a few years down the line. I wouldnt put any blame on Ralph, as we dont know the circumstances. I'd guess Targett was very keen to move there after a successful loan spell (and knowing he wouldnt get many games with us) and the bean-counters were probably glad of the money for a player who was only backup. Im sure given the choice, Ralph would have kept him.
-
Quite incredible to think those 46 points gave us an 8th placed finish too!
-
I don't believe there was, but I would still hazard a guess that 'if' we wanted to keep him, then Liverpool wouldn't take too much persuading. Personally I think we should let him go as we have better options, and they would probably want a decent fee for him and his wages are probably (Liverpool) high. Our tight budget could be spent better elsewhere IMHO.
-
So, so, so important to us, as last night demonstrated. Fingers crossed he sticks around for a while longer... Most non-penalty Premier League goals since the start of last season: 33 — Kane 31 — Ings 30 — Salah & Sterling
-
Why would we want to sell him if he has a good Euro 2020 and keeps up this scoring run til the end of the season? And given we will likely be selling Ings!?
-
Who doesn't? I think they look a better side than most of the other bottom half, dont concede many, have a bit of fight, etc and have given themselves a chance.
-
Is one or has one?
-
Out of interest, why do people assume that Davis and Watson aren't decent coaches? Not suggesting they should step up if we lost Ralph BTW, just wonder whey they get bashed on here when no evidence I've ever seen or heard that they aren't up to their jobs at the club.
-
Valery & Vokins arent great, but surely we are better off having some (average) backup at fullback, than none at all!? I can only guess that we thought we had at least one in the bag (Williams, AMN or Tanganga) and the departures were already far down the line or signed-off. Im sure the club arent best pleased with how it panned out.

Definite Yes from me at the minute. Brings experience and a great attitude, which cant be underestimated in a young squad like ours. He is so direct and takes us forward every time he gets the ball (we've played it sideways for far too long), I know we haven't scored many goals of late, but I definitely think he brings us more of an attacking threat and we create more chances when he plays. We threw him in and played him a lot, and he'd not had regular game time for a while, so not surprised he looked a little jaded in the last few games (especially with our high energy press), but I think he's coped pretty well. I guess a lot will hinge on this injury he has, and if he's out for a few months then that wont help his cause. I'm not convinced we would take him and Minamino in the summer, so a lot will depend on how that one plays out too.

I feel that Leicester might be the next destination for Danny, 'if' they qualify for the Champions League and have some extra money to spend. Vardy is 34 now, and his back up not good enough for the Premier League, let alone the Champions League. They will certainly be on the look out for a striker this window or next.

I got to see the new kits for this season 3 months before this season kicked off (and 6 weeks before club announced them). No idea when the 21/22 season is scheduled to start, but I should be able to see the shirt 3 months(ish) beforehand again, so will share what I can, when I can.
