  1. That's almost amusing. Maybe Wenger could also wind down towards retirement and give us a season as boot boy, chipping in a bit of advice along the way. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  2. I'm much more concerned to get rid of Black. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  5. If we do, plenty on here will still say: Too little too late We'll only be back to boredom next season Stoke are cr@p. Only 5? We got lucky But he won't pick that team again He was desperate to save himself Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. No surprise that the Telegraph didn't even notice that there was a TV debate last night, in which the audience gave both major leaders considerable grief for not being prepared to debate. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It's not just the football. Sorry to say it, but some fans are judging him on his personality and simply don't like him. Although it's an interesting question as to whether his quiet, careful (yes, maybe dull) approach to interviews and presumably interaction with players does contribute to our football style. I am actually prepared to accept the possibility of a correlation, if you consider the outward character of other Premier managers compared with the style of football played. For example, Klopp the extrovert, Wenger restrained, Poch calm but with a clear intensity. Just a thought. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

The exact same story, all over again. All no doubt copied from one, probably questionable source. This is how momentum artificially grows, fuelled by repetition, when in fact repeating the same thing doesn't give it any more credence. Although it is a very standard tactic employed by three-year-olds as I know from my grandson. It's the Lewis Carroll principle from The Hunting of The Snark: "If I say it three times, it is true" Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Blizzard expected next week and quadrupling of state pension if the Tories are elected, according to Daily Express. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  12. That's fair and balanced. We don't really know what his relationship us with Les and the players, but we may be about to find out. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Wish I had time at work to discuss Saints with 300 people. And as a balance, pretty well everyone I talked to before the match on Weds, on the train, in 2 pubs and in the ground, felt that Puel's being hounded, has basically done well and deserves another season. Problem is, lots can't see beyond his outward personality. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Not really. There are a lot of neutrals who are influenced by the usual negative bunch and just follow. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Ok, I'll bite. I think a poll of all Saints supporters (not just the ones on here who are quick to jump on a bandwagon), would show a majority for keeping him. The bottom line is that he's got a top half finish despite plenty of problems. He took us to Wembley. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I'm not convinced by this. Probably mainly gleaned from the whingers on here. The lower echelons of the press love to stir up these stories. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. But I see the usual vultures are gathering. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southampton-boss-claude-puel-looks-10450641 https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4519956/amp/Southampton-set-axe-Puel-clashes-players.html#ampshare=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4519956/Southampton-set-axe-Puel-clashes-players.html Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. Be careful what you wish for. After a lot of fence-sitting I now hope we keep Claude for at least another season. I'm now convinced that behind the apparently dull exterior there is a good football brain. And for every unsubstantiated report of player fallout, there is evidence of him developing talent. I hope we keep key players: if we do, we've got the core of a very good team and I want to see what he does without injuries and with gaps resulting from lack of replacement. And if we do lose players, let's see how he builds his own team. A new manager now will mean another season of transition with risks. Yes, I would like more goals and hopefully having the right strikers playing regularly will help. As an aside, in his few minutes on Weds, JRod looked more like his old self and I'm hopeful. I don't buy into the mantra that we play boring football, maybe because I've been at several away games where the fluent passing has been impressive. I understand the frustration at St Mary's, but there's a danger that the atmosphere there will become toxic. Get behind the team on Sunday, make a lot of noise and stop believing the grass is always greener. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. Yep. Guess that's why so often when I come on the forum after a game I get very confused since it seems half the posters have been watching a different game. You are definitely right that some only look for things that support their prejudices rather than actually watching the game. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  23. Good post. That's how I saw it too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  24. That's pretty well it. We played quite well, looked to be positive, made more chances and had more shots than at Wembley. Their keeper played a blinder. We've played much worse and won. Puel did nothing wrong. The team played for him and we're clearly frustrated not to win. Just one of those games. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  25. We get plenty of gibberish on here but I nominate this as the most ridiculous nonsense yet. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
