I'm not qualified to say, I expect you are not either, and I'm fucking positive Turkish isn't. They do seem to be over-cautious but I expect there is good reason. It looks to me like it's a race against time, vaccines v variants. The more it spreads/mutates the less time we have to develop updated vaccines for next winter. No one wants lockdowns and the SAGE people are well aware of the negative impact of lock-downs.
-
Obviously winter made it worse, I never said it didn't. The UK variant is causing problems all round the World - it can't be winter everywhere.
-
Dunno, there are loads of variants. Why don't you go back on the Daily Mail site and see what they are pissing their pants over today?
-
What, the one in the second wave that killed more people than the first despite all the new treatments and our better understanding of the virus?

There does seem to be some evidence that antibodies are less effective against the India strain: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01274-7 Think the caution is more to do with what we don't know than what we do, it takes time to do enough tests to be sure. Looks to me like the more it spreads, the more it mutates and there is probably a real risk of a mutation that could render the vaccines ineffective and put us back to square one.

Amazingly, people in different areas find different things appealing.

I expect Brexit would have happened much sooner if there was PR, why do you think Farage is in favour of it. The frog-faced cunt would have been a much greater threat to the Tories if he was winning swathes of seats in parliament every four years. I expect plenty of Tory voters would have voted UKIP if they didn't think their vote would let Labour or Lib Dem win their seat. The whole red v blue bollocks makes change slower not quicker.

You don't produce it because you know any 'evidence' you come up with will just be laughed at. Go on, give it a go. I'm genuinely interested in what has convinced you that it's a big conspiracy and why governments around the world want to close down businesses and pay people to do nothing.
-
Shouldn't this be on the Brexit thread?
-
I've always voted on issues that are important to me. I many areas we always have a pretty good idea of how the votes will pan out, you are talking complete shite as usual.
-
That proves my point, given the votes UKIP got he should have been in Parliament and so should a whole load of his MPs.
-
Get in a great position and all goes to shit when Redmond gets it.
-
But the point is, under the current system a party can be attractive to a large percentage of the population but get little or no representation in parliament. It’s not rocket science.
-
So the system is broken now, thought it was just lefties moaning.
-
It would just be nice to have a system where every vote counts the same no matter where you happen to live. It's the one thing I agree with Farage on.
-
True, but if you look at what we invest, somewhere between 12th and 17th is about right.
-
It is mental that even in the Tory landslide election of 2019, more people voted for left wing parties than the Tories. The whole system needs reforming. Hopefully this latest shit show will see Labour sorting themselves out but I’m not holding my breath. With the SNP in the position they are it will need some sort of alliance to change anything because the fact is if you are left leaning you have Labour, Green, Lib Dem and possibly SNP or PC to choose from, right wing you just go Tory.
-
That’s pretty much normal for Southampton.
-
He was shit against Liverpool but he’s had some decent games for us this season. Wether he’s worth a new contract obviously depends on the cost, our budget and alternative options. I would rather see the back of Redmond than Walcott TBH.
-
How many times are they going to say “this is Ward Prowse territory” before he puts in a cross which amounts to nothing.
-
Now its time for our shit half...
-
Playing OK, has 3-0 written all over it though.
-
That team will get smashed

It looks like the result of a Junior School art and design project, should have been changed decades ago.
