As you say, they are using their platform to send out a message, not sure what else you expect them to do. We all know the link between taking the knee and Black Lives Matter, and that their are some groups within that movement who have some odd and extreme ideas on how to achieve their aims. But their ideas are bizarre and they are an irrelevance and certainly shouldn’t be used as a way to undermine what is essentially a good message. No one want to defund the police, I don’t, the players don’t - it’s never going to happen. I don’t know why people are so hung up on it.

Because I have seen the lies for what they were and seen what a shit-show it has become. I got the leave argument about downward pressure on wages and overstretched public services and brought the bullshit about German car makers banging on Mercle’s door. But it turns out that the EU is more robust than I thought it was and their companies, governments and people are more concerned about keeping the free market intact than trading with us - that’s the key difference now. Also the fact that Brexit will probably be the beginning of the end of the UK - I never thought about how the split in the vote would enhance the divisions between England and the rest of the UK. I think an independent Scotland is probably now an inevitability and maybe even a United Ireland. I didn’t end up voting for a number of reasons, mainly because I was on a deadline and stuck at work until late and had to get back to see my 2 year old but also because whilst I was leave leaning I wasn’t overly bothered either way. Plus, me and the Mrs always walk down and vote together and as she was going to vote remain we would have cancelled each other out and made the whole exercise pointless.

That went well https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55283024

But most players are doing it so most clearly don’t see it as political. I expect Warnock is just responding to snowflakes like you who are getting all upset over some irrelevant link to some odd obscure group. Some young lads are trying to do something to stop racism and they are just getting undermined by people like you - bravo, keep up the good work.

Love you too x x PM me your address and I will send you a signed photo and a pair of my used pants to sniff if you want.

Ah bless, I’ve got a stalker.
-
So you actually think the players are Marxists who want to defund the police?
-
Just proves what I have said all along, that the players are fee to do what they want. It doesn’t matter wether they take the knee or not, there won’t be a big uproar if they choose not too.
-
You are right, I was terrified of walking into the village and putting a cross on a bit of paper
-
I didn’t even vote remain you bellend.
-
Exactly, so there is not point crying about not getting a Canada style deal. The EU have no obligation to give us anything.
-
Of course it is, but if the EU prefer an ‘Australian style’ to what Boris is proposing that is up to them.
-
There’s no point moaning, the EU are perfectly entitled to go with whatever deal they want, the reality is they have to do what they think is best for them.
-
This. They will fudge something together and the scruffy fat cunt will declare it amazing no matter how bad a deal it is.
-
I guess that may change when we actually leave and the effects become clear. If we profit massively from our huge fish windfall and everyone is better off obviously Labour won't campaign to go back in. if people start losing their jobs and businesses suffer I think people's Brexit loyalties will be short lived. Most people just want to be better off, they are not Brexit Jihadis like you and the mob on here.

Harry Kane was on the radio the other day explaining why the players felt they should carry it on. The main reason being the fact that the Premier League is watched all over the world and some people only get to see one game. They wanted kids, particularly in countries with a racism problem, to ask why it was being done and think about the issue. Weirdly he never mentioned defunding the plod or their Marxist agenda. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Some have already, it's up to them. Millwall are planning something different so they don't upset their snowflakes, that's fine.
-
It's up to the players, I don't see any harm in it. They get on their knee for a couple of seconds, it's nothing worth wetting your pants over.
-
Fantastic seeing the lads being clapped taking the knee tonight, it looks like most people get it, regardless what a few wack-jobs on here think.
-
Didn’t play well but ground out a win. Vestergard was immense.
-
Yeah, great to see the Brighton fans clapping the lads.
-
Lol, that statement was from the Millwall players.
-
“We wish to make clear that taking the knee, for us, is in no way representative of any agreement with political messaging or ideology. It is purely about tackling discrimination, as has been the case throughout.” Which part of that do you have a problem understanding?
-
The simple solution is to read what the players said.
-
The phrase "Black Lives Matter" can refer to a Twitter hashtag, a slogan, a social movement, a political action committee, or a loose confederation of groups advocating for racial justice. The players have made it crystal clear they are not supporting any political group, they have said so in their own words, I’m not sure how you fail to understand that. You actually believe professional footballers are campaigning to end capitalism and defund the police - wow!
