  1. To be fair it's probably quite wise to hold out until the NHS are able to guarantee you proper care and not end up hoping your clogs on a trolly in a corridor somewhere waiting for a space in the ICU.
  2. Cheers for replying - hope you all get over it ok. I've got a funny feeling we've had it as the symptoms were just a bit weird.
  3. Did any of you have milder symptoms? Just asking because a couple of weeks ago I felt a bit iffy at work (just tired and feverish) so went home, had quick nap and was absolutely fine. Because I didn't have a temperature or cough didn't think anything of it but I did lose my sense of taste/smell for a few days. Then the exact same thing happened to the Mrs. It's only afterwards when the taste/smell thing was listed as a possible symptom we tough we might have had it.
  4. That’s why I can see the clubs making sure the season is completed behind close doors. If it doesn’t then there’s no money from Sky or BT, then it’s meltdown. Don’t a lot of clubs have loans secured on future TV money?
  5. I think mass testing is a bit different to testing your health workers. Wether people like Boris Johnson work from home or not makes no difference to the fight against the virus, it’s different for frontline workers. If a doctor or consultant takes two weeks off work at this stage you can measure the effect in deaths. Testing vital NHS staff as a no brainier, the only people who seem to disagree are the usual gammons on this place.
  6. The businesses receive the money.
  7. Agree but it is a similar situation for other businesses up and down the country, they are all going to use the government’s offer even if they have rich owners and high paid people at the top. It’s not football itself that’s the sick puppy, it’s the whole system. Hopefully we will tax the wealthiest through the nose afterwards to pay for it all.
  8. If you had a cold then go it I expect you would have a change in symptoms so just get re-tested. If you are one of the people who don’t have any symptoms then obviously you would risk spreading it regardless.
  9. But I don’t have a cough, my other half had a weird cough about 10 days ago so we have all been on lock down over what was probably nothing. Neither of us have any symptoms now but I have to isolate until Saturday. I can work from home so it’s not an issue but if I was a doctor I probably would have wasted the last two weeks. On the flip side I expect nurses are under huge pressure to go to work. If they felt a bit iffy 10 days ago but put it down to something else they might have spent the last 10 days spreading it around. There are probably thousands of people round the country who felt a bit rough but just assumed it was probably a cold then caught the tube to work because there are no tests available.
  10. I’ve been on full lock down for 14 days because my other half had a bit of a cough last week. Neither of us have a clue wether one or both of us had it but if I was a Doctor that would be a big loss to the NHS if it was for nothing. The problem with this virus is that th3 symptoms can be mild or nonexistent, testing would make a huge difference.
  11. Most countries have drive through a with people in full protective gear.
  12. If they test negative they go back to work, it’s not rocket science.
  13. I don’t see the issue, just tax high earners through the nose afterwards to pay for it.
  14. Of course it’s vital NHS staff get tested. We don’t want nurses with it infecting half the hospital and you don’t want nurses without it sat at home for two weeks because they have a bit of a cold. MPs can work from home so why we are wasting resources on them I do not know.
  15. It’s not right how MPs seem to be able to get hold of a test as soon as they get a runny nose yet NHS staff can’t.
  16. Just like any other business.
  17. No I agree. The same should apply to bankers, company directors and other high earners. Or do you think the government should subsidise them?
  18. There will be high paid people in other companies up and down the country too, same should apply to them as well.
  19. This. No one should moan about being on 80% pay for siting at home playing Call of Duty.
  20. It’s not even a slope, the old bill are just doing their job trying to minimise the impact. It’s people being idiots and not staying in that is the problem.
  21. Do we know that about Coronavirus yet?
  22. That’s obviously a concern but it’s a potential gathering at one game. Surely the positive benefits of having the national sport back on tv outweigh the negatives of a few idiot scousers spreading a bit. Depression, boredom, frustration are all real issues with this lockdown, if the government want everyone to stay home for months on end then daily live football on the box will go a long way to help.
  23. The plod are very busy at the moment. A friend of mine is doing 60 hour weeks, mainly dealing with arseholes not complying with the lockdown.
  24. Football behind closed doors is not back to normal though is it. It doesn’t break the ban against large gatherings which was the stage before where we are now. Coronavirus is never going to go away, eventually we are going to get to the point where we just carry on as usual and accept that some people will catch it and, like the flu, some people will die from it.
  25. I think it will be alright, we are already seeing a decline in deaths per day and June is over two months away. Staying at home self isolating will be a lot more bearable with copious amounts of live footie on the TV - should help reduce the amount of idiots ignoring the lock down.
