  1. I knew that, I was talking about what we got up to when forming our empire. Anyway, as pointed out earlier, there are uninhabited islands of the coast of the UK, doesn't make them any less British.
  2. But the Falklands are ours because of our colonial exploits which Involved invading other countries, killing and enslaving their people ect. Yeah it was ages ago but that is our history, and the people of Argentina are as aware of that as anyone else. The Falkland Islanders may be technically British but yo me they are Falklanders first, South Americans second.
  3. I'm not advocating anything and have no desire to see the Falklands forced under Argentinian control against their will - I just don't think it is an issue worth going to war or spending huge amounts of money over. What flag they fly on their Island makes no difference to me. If Thatcher had struck a deal with the Argies before the war and avoided all the bloodshed then I doubt any of us on here would even have heard of the Falklands. Corbyn is an idiot for even discussing the subject because handing anything over to the Argies is never going to be popular but it is hard to look at the map and think they don't hold any sort of claim.
  4. Not sure of the relevance of Rockall, it was just a random example. I just don't like all this colonialism nonsense. OK, a few hundred years ago we had the best navy and could sail around the world kill the indigenous people and claim the land as ours - that just doesn't seem that relevant today. I'm not bothered wether they stay British or not, just wouldn't want to spend vast amounts of money, or spill any blood just to ensure they can fly a certain colour flag.
  5. So if a ship load of Danes turned up and inhabited one of the Scottish islands, held an election and voted for it to be part of Denmark would you respect their democratic right?
  6. I'd rather the government spent my tax helping refugees from Syria than trying to keep hold of a bunch of islands off the coast of Argentina. I couldn't give a **** what a bunch of ex pats vote for, you just have to look at the map to see they should be Argentinian.
  7. It is own goal after own goal - you get the impression he has no intention of getting elected, he just enjoys being controversial.
  8. I'm ****ing embarrassed for them now, surely they can't fail to get promoted out of that league again? It's a league full of minnows, the terminally sh!te and over performing non league sides. If you walk down to your local rec tomorrow morning you will probably be able to watch something not too far of the useless crap they face week in week out.
  9. No reason why it cannot be a success if you have talented writers and creatives. As above really with regards to content, make it funny and controversial with plenty of attitude. Above all make it original. I work in the industry and though print has been effected by new media there is plenty online that you can use to your advantage in terms of content, pictures etc.
  10. Not sure that's a great example. We've welcomed leaders from the Middle East who've done a lot worse than ban people from entering their country
  11. Because offering odds of 11/2 on an event that couldn't happen is a great way for bookies to make money.
  12. Weird that Coral and William Hill gives odds of 11/2 on something that is impossible. It's almost as if they understand that political landscapes can change or something crazy like that.
  13. Probably never would be correct, unless you can see into the future.
  14. The EU immigration problem could be a game changer for this referendum. It's no longer just about the effects of Mass immigration from Poland etc, but also an issue of national security. If these migrants in Germany can just wait a year or two to get their EU passport They are effectively our problem now, unless we just leave the EU.
  15. it's very very unlikely that he will be PM, you can only really say never if you have a crystal ball or if you are some sad nobhead trying to start a pointless argument on an Internet forum.
  16. I'm sorry but whilst I don't agree with his views talking about an OTT response to a potential security threat cannot be classed as a hate crime. These internet poll things are not democracy, they interview one person on the radio who voted and they said they didn't even want him banned, just wanted the subject bringing up! They are just a magnet for weirdos and people who want to shout down everyone else with their extreme views.
  17. I don't think anyone thinks he will win the next election or has even said they think he will so you are wasting your time banging on about it.
  18. He is right in a way, Austin will be on big wages because we got a good deal because he was near the end of his contract. Wether you pay £4mill for a player on high wages or £14mill for one on lower wages makes no difference - except you are paying the money to the player and not another club.
  19. Exactly, the blokes an idiot. Every time he opens his mouth he just makes things worse for himself. Scrapping Trident makes sense, but having Trident without Nukes is just nonsense.
  20. This migrant crisis will be a big boost for the out campaign.
  21. A steal at £4mill, great deal.
  22. I said we should help, not Germany.
  23. Exactly, when he's old and ****e he might fancy a couple of seasons in the Premier League so you never know.
  24. I have never said I thought he would be prime minister - you should learn to read.
  25. I don't think he will, but you never know what is around the corner. If there is another, bigger financial collapse then I can see a swing to the left.
