  1. The bloke is an idiot. I agree with many of his policies but at times like this people are scared and angry, just say something that makes you and your party look serious about fighting IS. It's not rocket science, just avoid saying anything that makes you look like a pussy, save the rational talk about your actual policies until a time when people are not ****ting themselves.
  2. 10% is a ****ing lot of people who think it's OK to attack cartoonists for drawing a picture.
  3. To be fair, the age of that picture probably illustrates quite well how backward Islam is. Christians were doing the same **** - but centuries ago. Forcing women to cover up - yep, that used to be normal here ages ago as well.
  4. Not when you are a politician who knows every single word you write will be picked up by the national media.
  5. It's the condensed version of the Independent. Guess they didn't have much sport to write about.
  6. Broadcasting something over the world wide web is hardly being silent.
  7. Not sure that is true. What stats are you using?
  8. This. The Police need these extra powers to stand any chance of keeping the public safe. Anyone who thinks this will turn is into a police state is deluded. There are plenty of safeguards that can and would be put in place to stop the powers being abused even if the Police had the time and resources - which they don't.
  9. Probably the bit where you said he's been silent when he hasn't been silent. Just a guess.
  10. This quote was printed in the 'i' on Saturday.
  11. We could always just stop meddling in that part of the world and still buy their oil. Plenty of other countries manage it.
  12. The problem is that large parts of Iraq prefer to have IS in charge than the Shia government. Unless that is sorted out any military action will just be pointless bloodshed. I don't think a full on ground war is the solution, any western troops on the ground will just inflame the situation and make targets of themselves. We need to somehow work with the local forces to wipe out IS, then get people talking. The problem is, thanks to Blair and Bush the whole area is a complete ****ing mess. The Peshmerga seem to be the most effective force but arming them properly won't go down well with Turkey. The Iraqi military is useless but you don't really want to start arming the shia militia. I doubt there is little hope of getting the Free Syria Army and Assad to come to any sort of agreement but they will probably need to to have chance of sorting IS out in Syria. The ideal solution would be to have Iraq and Syria governed by heavy handed dictators, but the UK and US saw to that.
  13. No one is suggesting that all Muslims are to blame. But it is a Muslim problem. If it was Christians of some type massacring people all over the place in the name of Christianity then it would be a Christian problem. Ignoring the religious element is just sweeping the issue under the carpet.
  14. Still very much to do with a certain type of Islam though. So is clearly an Islamic problem.
  15. If we start wars an bomb people in the Middle East it is naive not to expect this sort of thing in return. Especially considering the refugee situation. The war against IS needs to be stepped up, a serious effort needs to be made, not just air strikes and a few agents on the ground.
  16. You still have said how he has disrespected our armed forces. Was it the angle of his head that upset you? I agree about Labour's actions between 1997 and 2010 which the Conservatives backed. At least Corbyn seems to be one of our few politicians that shows some sort of respect for the value of our armed forces lives and was against it.
  17. How is sending our young men and women to die in far flung places like the middle east, for oil or political reasons, showing them respect?
  18. How is being a pacifist disrespectful to the armed forces. Surely the governments that send their troops into war to die for a bit of oil are the disrespectful ones?
  19. He only has to jump through the hoops because simpletons like you believe all they read in the right wing press.
  20. This. Unless Labour sort their **** out the next general election will just be a farce. I'm probably more left leaning than most and even I would not fancy the idea of letting Corbyn loose in no. 10.
  21. What exactly would be an acceptable excuse for leaving a bit early then? a: You want to b: Unlike some on here you have a social life and have arranged to go out that evening and being stuck in post match traffic would make you late. c: Your wife is giving birth, her cervix is 9cm dilated and staying to see the last few minutes of a drab 2-1 defeat will mean you miss the birth of your child. d: You are an officer on a nuclear submarine parked in Southampton docks and have accidentally left the missile on auto-fire, aimed at Moscow and and staying to see the last few minutes of a drab 2-1 defeat might mean the end of the world.
  22. Even better if you go, get to watch a football game, and as a bonus get to p!ss off some sad moaning tosser as well.
  23. Or go, and leave a bit early to avoid the traffic. You are right, it's not tricky.
  24. I guess some people have other stuff to do in their lives as well as watch 22 blokes kick a ball around a field and don't fancy sitting in traffic for an hour.
