How do you make a quality player stay at Saints!
aintforever replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
London is a pull but I don't think location is a big influence, look at the player City attract and no one wants to live up north. -
Scenery looks stunning but I've never really fancied New Zealand, too far away from anywhere, when you look at the globe it always seems like it's going to slide off the bottom. The only place it's near to is Australia and that's 90% desert. One thing in it's favour though is should nuclear war break out it will probably be the only habitable place on the planet. No one would bother sending any nukes all the way down there.

They just need a credible leader and decent team behind him/her and they will get more votes than the Milliband/Balls circus. They don't need a USP, like I said it all depends how the economy is, if people feel they are doing OK they won't vote for change. Even if the next crash doesn't happen before the next election, if the Tories austerity is not working then people may vote for a credible alternative. The problem with Labour is all their own doing, I personally don't give a ****e because they helped cause the Iraq war and all the problems that followed so deserve whatever they get. If they shift to the left it might actually open up room for a better alternative liberal party that does not have the baggage of the unions and all the history that goes with it.

There is no reason why Labour can't be electable, just need to be left of centre like Blair. Ed Milliband was just unelectable, get a credible leader and a decent team and they should do OK - it all depends on the state of the economy at the time of the next election. If there is another bank crash and we end up bailing out the banks again and austerity no 2 there will probably be a massive swing to the left.
-
I'm for it but I can understand the reasons why people are against it. I think the main reason is so the elderly don't feel under pressure to end it if they feel they are a burden on their family.

Labour moving towards to the middle is not more betraying principles than the Tories moving towards the middle.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 FC Midtjylland

A club the size of Saints is never far off a relegation battle if things are not quite right that's supposed to say. -

Poor showing last night against an organised but limited side. Can't see us going through to the group stage and I wouldn't be overly bothered if we don't. I can see this season being a struggle, we should stay up but I think the current squad doesn't have enough strength in depth for a Europa campaign and a decent Prem season. A clung the size of Saints is never far off a relegation battle if things are not quite right. -
Oh fo ****s sake, he talked to a radical Muslim, big deal. Hes obviously got the intelligence to know that the Palestinian issue cannot be resolved unless both sides talk to each other. You have to be thick as **** to think he's a racist for just talking to someone.
-
We would be nuts to sell him for anything less than £25mill and I doubt Utd would pay that.
-
I agree with the sentiment behind his policies and he has some nice ideas but the bottom line is his economic plans are way too risky. I don't have a great grasp of economics but even I know that just printing more money is no solution (even though that is what we have been doing already). The only way Labour will ever get to power is with Blair style policies, you need to win over Middle England - it's that simple.
-
I still refuse to believe Labour would be dumb enough to make him leader, I expect they are just having a laff with these opinion polls. I agree with his policy on Trident though, in our current financial state the very last thing we should be doing is blowing billions on a bunch of WMDs. Pointless and outdated.

"Frankly, taking 1500 to Arnham given the circumstances is pathetic." - the circumstances being we were only given 1500 tickets. "Southampton hasn't beaten us in over 10 years" - yeah, because you've been too busy plummeting down the Football League. I just find Skates funny now, it's hard to hate such a sorry excuse for a club, having a pop at them is just like kicking a tramp.
-
Yeah, at the moment. They preferred Labour three elections in a row not long ago.
-
As things stand at the moment he is unelectable. The only way a Labour Party run by him would get in is if the next bank crash happens before the next general election.
-
It's not 'our right' to finish 17th let alone 7th. We were awful yesterday, plenty of teams have got into Europe then relegated not soon after.
-
It doesn't matter who runs the club or how much money we invest, players will always want to play for Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd over us. That is just a fact of life.
-
Yoshida and Targett are just not good enough. Need to spend some more of our cash.
-
Where the **** did Targett go for that first goal? He should be nowhere near the first team.
-
Davis can't play the Schneiderlin role, put this new guy on FFS
-
Yoshida ****ed up there. Our defence is shocking
-
Target is sh!te

The Westminster paedophile conspricy
aintforever replied to CHAPEL END CHARLIE's topic in The Lounge
Probably, but "he wasn't interested in relationships, just sailing and music" raises a big red flag for me. I had a mate who got done for similar stuff and to say it was a bombshell to me, his family and friends is an understatement. Heath's friends opinions are about as relevant as yours or mine. -

They do sound a bit ridiculous though, like he's going to mention that he ****s kids to his mates at a dinner party. -
It is grim. But think the Ad makes it look worse than it is with all that green slime/smoke/mould effect whatever it is.
