I think you will find that is part of the fire brigade's job.
-
Like I said, it's probably more about response times than workloads. For example could probably do away with all current fire stations and have one massive one based in Birmingham and cover the workload - except in Cornwall you would have an average response time of 4 hours. That would keep you Tories happy but wouldn't be an effective service for Cornwall.
-
Surely it's all about response times, not workload with the FB?
-
I heard from a good source that he was interviewed but didn't want the job.

Surely selling them off will just make a lack of social housing going forward? Seems daft to me.

Stranger things have happened but I can't see us catching them, not with 4 out of 6 away and City's run in not being too hard. One thing that could be in our favour is the fact we have nothing to lose. We can just go for it and enjoy the last 6 games knowing anything we get is just a bonus. Would be fantastic to go into the last game within 3 points of City and CL qualification in our own hands.

300 grand is more than enough for anyone IMO, people shouldn't be so greedy.
-
Isn't it anything over 300K that's taxed or something?
-
I theory it is a harsh thing to do, tax people when they die. But the people it is effecting have hundreds of thousands to play with which is more than enough for anyone so they should quit moaning and cough up.
-
Big difference between saying if you don't try to better yourself you won't succeed than saying if you die poor you deserve it. It doesn't matter who you are referring to, that is just complete ******.
-
I admire Bill Gates for what he gives to charity and what he has achieved but that quote is complete bullsh!t. I suppose the poor who die in Africa do so because it is their fault? I earn an above average salary in a wealthy country, it puts me in the top 0.4% richest on Earth. My wealth is 99% down to luck, I'm lucky to have been born in a great country, I'm luck to have decent parents, and I'm lucky I have the skills I was born with. It would be arrogant to claim people who are poorer than me are to blame.
-
We're all ****ing poor compared to that c*nt.
-
Would be great if they came up, always liked Bournemouth. They have a very good run in so I think they will actually do it.
-
No, the MP's just voted themselves a massive pay rise so they didn't need to claim expenses, the bankers are just carrying on as usual and the tax evaders/avoiders will just move abroad of find another loophole. People with nothing to lose just smash sh!t up.
-
I actually agree with that, except it's not just the dole scroungers who get something for nothing, its the MPs who fiddle their expenses, the bankers who gamble with our money and the super rich tax evade/avoiders.

Is forming a coalition with SNP and getting rid of trident in Labour's manifesto? I'm not against people speculating about what might happen but how is some Tory's opinion on something that probably won't happen get to be headline news across all the media?
-
Plenty of people bang on about it as if it was Labours fault. Fact is if the Tories were in power you can be sure government spending wouldn't have been so high but you can also be just as sure that the banks would have been bigger and even more out of control so who knows what sort of mess we would have been in.
-
The size of our financial industries is what left us particularly exposed and with the Conservatives traditionally favouring less regulation the crash would still have hit us hard with them in government. What happened was unprecedented, the idea that it was just because Labour spent too much is just nonsense. I'm pretty sure the Tories were in government during the recession in the early 1990's - what happened to your saving for a rainy day b*ll*x back then?
-
I'm getting a bit fed up with the Tory bias in the media. I mean, what the hell is all this Trident nonsense about? Some Tory disagrees with a hypothetical decision made by a hypothetical coalition meaning Milliband is a back-stabber - how on earth is that headline news?
-
Couldn't care less, the more the better though because they have more money than they need and many hard working people are struggling to live a decent life.
-
I think it's more than fair that the rich pay more. Too many greedy c*nts in this world. I can't even comprehend the mindset of someone who has millions yet goes out of their way to avoid tax, I just think it's sad. I pay more tax than most, I don't give it a moments thought.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the Lib Dem's vote holds up in the right leaning areas, it's where left wing voters chose them over Labour last time that their partnership with the Tories would have gone down badly. They won the bi-election in Eastleigh despite the coalition.

Have the BBC got this wrong about Europa League qualification?
aintforever replied to niceandfriendly's topic in The Saints
Looks like the Beeb have corrected it, now reads "Should Arsenal or Liverpool win the FA Cup and finish in the top four, their Europa League place will be allocated to the next highest non-qualified club in the Premier League." Even though UEFA's wording is ambiguous surely the same rule should apply if the cup winners finish in a Europa spot? i.e.: the FA cup place goes to the winners or if they have already qualified for Europe it's based on league position. -
We needed backup for Pelle to stand any chance of top 4, the club will have multiple targets (we're supposed to have a world class scouting system). If we were serious about CL football we should have pushed the boat out. It was always a bit of a pipe dream anyway, I dont blame the club for not forking out the cash. I Will be more than happy if we get Europa.
-
This, our lack of ambition has cost us. Still a great season, just have to hope Liverpool or arsenal do the job in the fa cup so we can get Europa.
