  1. Both of those kits are miles better than last season’s disasters.
  2. I think it is shite, unless you are challenging at the top.
  3. He’s not the sort of manager I would have gone for, for me the priority has to be sorting the squad out, then getting the players organised and motivated. I don’t think it matters one bit what style of play we have just as long as it gets results. The squad needs major surgery, and a manager who can tell straight away who he needs in the squad to get promotion. There will be overpaid ex-prem players who will be wanting away and youngsters devoid of any confidence. It’s going to be a hard job to build a team capable of challenging, I just think it’s a job that, in the current situation, would suit someone with stature who demands respect and knows how to get promoted. It would also be bonus if he is someone who excites the fans and galvanizes the whole club. Guess we can only wait and see, at least Martin knows the league and at least they appear to be getting things done early on.
  4. That’s just nonsense, Howe had a great record before he went to Newcastle.
  5. I don’t think anyone has an issue with possession football, it’s the hiring of a manager who has had little success with whatever style he has been playing. Obviously the better teams tend to have more possession, but his teams have all just been average.
  6. If Newcastle somehow lose to Leicester tomorrow then Liverpool will probably need to beat us by 5 goals to stand a chance of catching them.
  7. Like in the 20-21 season when his MK Dons side were only bettered in the possession stats by Man City and Barcelona, yet they finished below Accrington Stanley and Crewe.
  8. I don't think the fans would mind any particular style as long as it gets results.
  9. He does pass sideways and backwards too much. It will be interesting to see what clubs come in for him.
  10. True, but he has never finished above mid-table once, not sure why you think that will change with our bunch of losers.
  11. I'm always suspicious of these sort of things. Why does he feel the need to suck himself off on YouTube? Where is his masterclass videos from the games they lost on their way to their second mid-table finish in a row?
  12. Except Brighton get results.
  13. Bunch of gutless, useless cunts. Happy to see the back on any of them.
  14. This is exactly the sort of appointment I feared. Imagine our pussy players trying to pat it around like Man City when we go to Luton away next year. I can't believe Dragon man is trusting these clowns with his money.
  15. Hopefully all this Russell Martin talk is just a smokescreen to help get the real candidate to sign.
  16. But good managers get teams playing above expectations, especially in the lower leagues. I get the thinking behind it but fact is he hasn’t finished above mid-table when other managers have got teams promoted or up around the top on a shoestring.
  17. Vincent Kompany it is then! Russell Martin's MK Dons had great possession stats, but could only finish 13th in League 1. Swansea under him have finished 15th and 10th. They are the only stats that matter.
  18. Except 8 of the 9 teams that finished above Swansea had less possession.
  19. I'm a little bit worried about the idea of choosing a manager based on their average percentage possession stats. Leicester won the Prem with something like 40% possession, who gives a fuck what the possession stats are, it's only results that matter.
  20. Would Carrick leave Boro for our shit-show?
  21. Not sure what we can sue them for, it’s not like Everton overspending has made to outcome of our season any different.
  22. If he actually won some football games no one would give a monkeys about his irritating personality or lack of communication skills. He got sacked because he was just way out of his depth.
  23. Think Leicester and Forest will go. Everton have the perfect final game being at home to Bournemouth and Leeds' final game against Spurs is very winnable. Though Arsenal messing up their title run in gives Forest a better chance now the gooners have nothing to play for. Everton, Forest, Leeds and Leicester are pretty much as dislikable as each other in my book so happy to see any of them down.
  24. Nothing to do with being in or out of the EU though. Mogg is talking bollocks as usual.
  25. This.
