Have you had some sort of "Road to Damascus " moment Dave/Stu? In the 550 -ish posts that you have posted in the 3 weeks since you joined, you have spent most of your time telling those who didn`t agree with your opinions on Cortese that you were right, they were wrong and to wake up and smell the coffee. Now you are trying to get people to agree that there are two sides to every story! What has come over you??
-
Jump to conclusions or make something up?? You could also let the "masterplan" start to unfold first, then make up your mind, you know - have something concrete to form an opinion on?
-
What about hotels?? I`ve stayed in a number of hotels where they charge £15 per night for parking in their car park. In fact I am staying in one in Cardiff this week-end and that is the cost. The hotels in Cardiff up their prices and milk their customers when there is something on at The Millenium Stadium (British Speedway GP this week) but they are always full. Supply and demand I guess.

Let`s be honest - nothing that NC does is right in your opinion. Yes, some unpopular decisions appear to have been made which will in some way effect just about every supporter to some degree, but by far the the biggest "crime" is the lack of communication. Most people can/will accept change (even "negative" change) if the reasons are explained to them and at the moment, for what ever reason, they are not. You are using this lack of explaination and jumping on every bit of "news", rumour and tittle-tattle to beat Cortese up. It has obviously become an obsession with you and you are starting to become a parody of yourself. FFS, even Dune/Stanley has wound his neck in about his "ticket tax". I always think that getting the facts first before forming an opinion is the best way.

TBH I would have thought that the statue was a more fitting memorial to Ted than some meaningless friendly. Just wait until NC takes the statue down and puts one of himself up. Romsey would go thermo-nuclear and not just glow red like it is ATM!!

I hear through the grapevine that Gary Glitter has applied for the post.

I did post this earlier, but the club told me that the car park opposite the stadium (the gravel yard) is now for the sole use of people with "disability" issues. Worth trying again.

Not at all. Everyone has a right to complain about anything and TBF if you can`t have a good moan on an internet forum, where can you moan? No, my reason for "having a pop" at you is because this forum has become "The Dave Benson Phillips Show". Virtually every thread on here is littered with your 25+ per day (and rising rapidly) posts of anti-Cortese rhetoric. I get it! We all get it! You are not happy with decisions that he has made. No, the installment plan doesn`t effect me (although I did use it last year for convenience), the ticket "tax" won`t effect me too much and I now have my season ticket at a price that I was O.K. with. I do feel genuine sympathy (or empathy if you like!) for anyone adversely effected by these decisions and I do agree that the club (or Cortese) has acted, from a communication point of view, very badly, however banging on and on, and continuosly looking for a stick to best Cortese with is not going to solve anything. You are even beginning to make Dune and Alpine seem normal.

I love the sweeoing statements and generalisations that people chuck out on here. Firstly, I do use the closest car park, opposite SMS and have done so since the stadium opened. I have no disabilities and am certainly not rich. I share the driving and cost of car parking with other people. Secondly, if you read my OP, my comment was about the substantial rise in the cost and the reduction in the times when it can be used not how much it worked out per game.

+1. You should come on here more often, talking sense like that!
-
TBH I am not really that worked up about it. If true, it would be a shame, but I am more hacked off that my enjoyment of this forum has been compromised by the advent of the DBP/SRS Show where all I see on virtually every thread is you banging your drum about what a ****** NC is. You do have some valid points but sadly they are being lost in the continual waterfall af anti- Cortese vitriol. Sometimes "Less is More"
-
Some people will still blame him though.
-
So we assume that the original post is 100% correct and march on SMS with our flaming torches and pitchforks? Or do we reserve judgment until the facts can be verified? Depends on your agenda, I suppose.

[/b] She did say that the club had subsidised the parking prevously and that they had been told that all aspect of the club had to at least cover costs.

I rang the club and asked about CP renewal as I hadn`t heard anything. I used the gravel yard right opposite the stadium. I was told that this was now not going to be available as they only now had use of half of it and it will be used for disabled etc but the cost for Cat A would be £200 but only for League games. She said that we had a couple of weeks to renew and that they were "hoping" to get some letters out soon.

Like last year? From an earlier post by Dav :- "Dan Harding, 21 July 2009 Rickie Lambert, 11 August 2009 Dean Hammond, 20 August 2009 Radhi Jaidi, 3 September 2009 Add in the loanees... Jacob Melliss, 14 August 2009 Neal trotman, 19 August 2009 Pap Waigo, 1 September 2009 Michail Antonio, 5 October 2009 So last season we signed just 1 player before the start of the season."

My daughter very recently married a Skate on the Isle of Wight. Needless to say, the Father of the Bride speech was littered with "jokey" anti-Skate remarks which went down well with 50% of the people there! The reception was followed by a 20 a side Saints v Skates football match in the grounds of the hall (everyone still in their wedding attire!) which Saints won 10 - 7 although in true Skate style they claimed that they actually won by the same score!!

I do like a pint of Old Badgers **** especially with a pickled egg and some black pepper....mmmmmm

I do apologise. I didn`t realise that moaning wasn`t allowed on an internet forum. How remiss of me. I am really pleased that you take such a great interest in how I spend my money and letting me know if it is money well spent or not. I am grateful for the advice that you have so freely given, without which my life would never be the same. I see it all so clearly now. Thank You.

Is Cortese deliberately trying to annoy the fans.
miserableoldgit replied to landford.saint's topic in The Saints
No. Success or failure for Saint is not simply about season ticket sales or the number of bums on seats. For NC it will be whether the club makes/ doesn`t lose money this year. Success on the pitch (TV money, prize money, commercial opportunities etc) plus more money from the fans that do go will all be part of that. You could have 32,000 at each home game, but if the club is mangaged badly (not in the AP sense) you could still make a loss. Ask P*mpey. I may be that NC has miscalculated things. I personally think that the lack of communication with the fans is his biggest mistake but as I say, Time Will Tell.
