  1. Indeed, you obviously can.
  2. Judging by the performance of the team, a bit too chilled.
  3. There appeared to be a number of incidents today of Saints fans fighting each other. What a state this club is in and what a divisive figure Mr Lowe is. This cannot go on.
  4. Where does this all stop? If short people are called Shorty or Stumpy for example, or hairless men baldy, is that as bad as "racist" names (Paki, Raghead etc.) They all have traits that they can`t do anything about. Is it "racist" to call the French Frogs or Italians Eyeties or Germans Krauts or English Limeys? Jocks, Paddies, Taffs - the list goes on.
  5. I appreciate that I am probably being very naive, but seeing that Paki is a shortened form of Pakistani, is calling someone a Brit racist? We have a Pakistani at work, who incidently served in the British Army, who calls himself a Paki (as in "us Pakis") and not in an ironic way. I guess one persons racism is another persons colloquialism. Surely it is intent when using any word as opposed to the word itself.
  6. I find that title extremely Plumist....!

Just to illusrate how complex the whole situation is, for centuries the various "tribes" of American indians moved around taking lands from other "tribes" either by driving them out or by destroying them. How far back in time do you have to go to find the "original" inhabitants of any piece of land??
  8. Some of the greatest times that I ever had whilst watching Saints were when Ron played. Remember him signing from Norwich when we were promoted to the 1st Division in `66 for £55,000! Was at Old Trafford when Ron was credited with all 4 goals. Great, great days and a great, great player. Keep well Ron.
  9. Sounds like a good bloke.
  10. Or a lesbian in a mans body.
  11. Or Simon Schama
  12. Certainly better than "Hole in the Wall"! Vanessa Feltz in a silver wet-suit!!:smt107:smt107:smt107. They go for the comedy "Top Gear" type humour, which is not surprising with "The Hampster" fronting it. It`s harmless enough.
  13. I think that this sums it up. I really don`t think that it is to do with whether we are at The Dell or at SMS. It is to do with Southampton attitude, a love of the City, and an appreciation of what the Club means to Sotonians. Rupert and his mob really don`t have a clue!
  14. I think that you need to qualify what a "Winning Run" is. ATM 2 in a row would be a winning run.
  15. I seem to remember Rupes saying similar things during our relegation year.

The Jews have been persecuted for well over 1000 years. Perhaps, now that they are in a position of strength they don`t feel like taking any more crap from anyone. Just a thought.
  17. http://www.classicspeedway.co.uk/southampton.htm This is quite an interesting site.
  18. I also have this on VHS. It is a superb bit of ghost story-telling. A ghost story that is actually scary. Really enjoyed the West End production a few years ago as well.
  19. When SMS was being built I went on a tour there and I asked about undersoil heating and I was told that there would be none as the number of games called off through frozen pitches is minimal so it wasn`t worth spending the extra money.
  20. Wilde takes the money and runs? House-building is not a very profitable business at the moment.
  21. Have been watching the "WC Fields Collection" that I have been given for Christmas. Wonderful stuff! Looking forward to the "Tony Han**** Collection" that I was also given.
  22. All players that we have never heard of or never liked are going to be crap! (Viafara etc)
  23. I am sorry but I grew up in this city. Saints were always a vital part of Southampton. As you can see from my posts ( spelling/punctuation) although I have had my share of alcohol, I am not totally "car parked" (to quote Micheal McIntyre) and am saying what I really feel. I am sorry if this comes across as the rantings of a drunkard but it couldn`t be farther from the truth. Sometimes it takes the release of alcohol to say the things that you really feel.
