Who on earth is David Armstrong?
-
I expect there's a lot of saints fans tonight who showed disrespect to lawrie by not listening to him on talksport this afternoon then! I don't think we'll be losing too much sleep over it, that's for sure. Care to share his wise words with us?
-
we all have our hoolie element but the Saints one has seemed more noticeable in recent years as we've slid down the leagues.
-
I actually think the newcastle away one is easier on the eye!
-
Don't then ... I'm having fun and my post count is rocketing ... isn't that what it's all about?
-
boom boom
-
If you think that's a linked chain of events, you're either very confused or desperately seeking a bit of attention.
-
yes it does, so come on then ... we are still waiting for your fantastic ideas...
-
I know what a benchmark is you pedant but you'd be satisfied if we were like Reading?!?!?!? Is that all you aspire to??? A rather odd choice of benchmark in my book!
-
When was that?
-
:smt101 Bloody hell ... somebody with a brain. Would you look at that! Spot on FC ... as I've said, it is possible to rate the guy as a manager but not for his recent part in the boardroom squabbles. To not agree with one, hardly dismisses the other; not in the eyse of the sane anyway. I'll watch clips of our pass and move football under him all day long, but I've no intention of listening to his thoughts on our new setup.
-
I'm sure they'll do something when the time comes.
-
how so?
-
Misread again Alps. It's turned into another 'pathetic excuse' for Lawrie worship as we've all been told that we must tune in to listen to him on the radio or else we're disrespecting him. Try reading carefully before engaging that potty mouth of yours next time though eh?
-
Don't be silly Um ... recordings or reported accounts, it makes little difference. You're saying the account I quoted is all made up now? Whatever next! You know, as well as I do what happened at those meetings; are you seriously trying to suggest that Lawrie sat there tight lipped throughout and played no part at all in the rowing?
-
yeh, and who was it who posted a link to a video of one of our goals whilst he was manager just the other day?!?!?!? But clearly, I have no respect at all for the man.
-
99% will what?
-
Did they all tune in to hear him on talksport as well? Otherwise, they're very naughty boys.
-
Bloody hell , careful my lad. Those'll be taken as heathen words round here if you're not careful!
-
I suggested that people might want to remind themselves of the events of these meetings to remember that all involved made themselves look like children (o members of tsw) with their petty squabblings, when they should have been doing their best to present a united front amidst very difficult circumstances. The onus isn't on me to prove that. The accusations of being disrespectful by not being interested in what Lawrie has to say were made at me and not by me. The accusers should be proving why my lack of interest makes that bad and to do this they need to show that Lawrie played no part at all in our downfall. And let's be very clear, that needs to be NO PART AT ALL, since I'm not saying he was the main protagonist. I'm saying there were a bunch of people with differing levels of responsibility from whom I don't want hear about what is and isn't good for sfc ever again. And FWIW, I have just wasted five minutes of my life and found this first had account of the goings on at one of our agms ... So he was there, squabbling (shouting if stentorious is anything to go by) with the rest of them, declaring we would get relegated with Poortvleit in charge when the poor bloody guy was sat there in the room with them. As I said, playing a supporting role in the cast of characters who made us look a laughing stock. And that, once more, is why I have no interest in listening to what he has to say about our owner or manager ... I want a clean, clean break.
-
I wouldn't waste my time! All of us on here know what went on. Sill, playground-esque squabbles about about pictures of trains and the like. What a silly line to try and take this discussion on anyway .... " if you haven't got recordings edited with lawrie's exact words clearly audible then I'm sure he didn't play any part in any of the agreements". If you really think that Lawrie played NO PART in the boardroom squabbles then you are mad. Still, this isn't supposed to be another one of THOSE threads. This is about whether not wanting to hear Lawrie on the radio makes somebody a bad person.
-
are you on the beers already as that certainly doesn't make any sense to me!
-
exactly ... i'm sure he couldn't care less ... and he certainly wouldn't be chirping "do the respect of listening to me, I achieved great things ofr this club between 1973 and 1985". See .. I even know the dates without looking them up. Bet some of the moral crusaders championing him don't even know that much info!
-
How on earth is that venemous? It seems pretty matter of fact to me. As for baseless .. .you best dig out those old radio solent recordings of the agms if you don't remember all the embarrassing squabbling that went on between the lot of them. You are very, very easily shocked, if criticims of this level appalls you that's for sure. And so very big with your ignore button as well. That's like putting your fingers in your ears and saying lalala when somebody says something you don't like. good luck out there in that big bad world ... you're gonna do great!
