  1. Macca, your first para is very interesting and chimes entirely with my feelings. The Northam where I stand was getting very frustrated with the slow, ponderous psssing and the lack of urgency towards the end of the second half. There was also a sizeable number of boos at the end. Interesting too that no player came anywhere near us at the end, with just short half-hearted clapping from our side of the halfway line. And that included TE. My point is that much more of this tedious negative shit and the tide will turn again. SR will have nowhere to hide this time, and things could get nasty very quickly. I can certainly see crowds dropping below 27k very soon if this continues. Like you, I haven’t given up all hope yet and this league is so tight, a few wins can have you right back in the mix (not that I think we’re anywhere near being ready to go up, but we need to be playing for something). But I need my faith restoring, and soon.
  2. No need to “dumb it down”, certainly not for my benefit. The issue is the central tenet of your posts - that “there’s some encouragement from within to persist with him” - doesn’t stand up to even the slightest scrutiny. Why therefore would SR - who are publicly on record as stating that they want/need us to get promoted - insist that a manager plays a keeper who is objectively and undeniably the worst in the league and who almost certainly won’t help them achieve their stated aim? What possible benefit is their to SR in forcing / encouraging TE to play GB? None at all. The argument over why managers under SR always pick GB is a non starter too. What has the choice always been? AM or GB - with the exception of when SR thought “shit, we need a competent keeper” and bought AR. Oh and when WS dropped GB too. There is no conspiracy or Machiavellian shenanigans. TE sees what’s on offer and decides GB is marginally the less shit of two mediocre options for how he wants to play. That’s it.
  3. The problem is there is zero logic to this. Ask yourself why. Why would SR ensure Baz plays at all costs? He is statistically and demonstrably the worst keeper in the league. We know that, opposition teams know that, Opta know that. What do SR gain by insisting he plays? Who benefits? The team? No. The club? No. Nobody will buy him. He’s not exactly putting himself in the shop window. So why? I don’t know why people are so desperate to see conspiracies when clearly none exists. It’s totally illogical. Baz may be the lesser of two evils given how TE wants to play, but to suggest he’s being made to play him is just nuts.
  4. Glad somebody is finally asking this question. There’s a lot on this thread and others about SR and RA in particular pulling the strings and insisting we do things in a way which, on the evidence available before us, won’t work and won’t lead to promotion. Why would they do that? Why actively and knowingly work not to achieve the thing that would make them richer? It’s entirely illogical and ridiculous. And even if it isn’t self-destructive malice, but rather sheer incompetence…..how could RA or anyone else not see that the plan simply isn’t working?
  5. I would suggest that if that happens - particularly on Tuesday - SR will look back on the Preston game and hanker after such happy days….
  6. Yes - If true, one can only imagine that it’s because we’re confident about getting Scienza.
  7. Not sure it does. Certainly no more than in any other context. And it’s still technically wrong, from a grammatical perspective. And since that’s the area I work in I’m quite happy to tell you so. But it’s rare for you to ever admit fault, so I don’t expect you to do so on this occasion. I’ll leave it there.
  8. Can’t believe I’m doing this but here goes…. Your quotation MLG said “2023-24 saw us score only 2 less than first placed Leicester”. So…..2 what? Goals. Goals is a countable noun and therefore fewer is correct. Anything you can count is fewer….anything else is less. For example….”I have less money than you” but “You have fewer friends than me”.
  9. Yet somehow you can judge Spors’ performance as “a shit show” two weeks before the window has closed…
  10. Because he’s not coming….?
  11. It’s to do with a comment Alfie made about AR after the Wolves game where he said he should have saved the header that went in. AR is having trouble letting go by all accounts….
  12. I’m still trying to work out why DHgate says it won’t deliver to my location (UK). Have I missed something?! 🤷‍♂️
  13. Always good to see things being done for the good of all, and not just the rich elite….
  14. Good enough for me! Cheers LeG. 👍😇👍
  15. I think they’ll do it on spec - savers a lot of money.
  16. Why does this make me see Donald Trump….🤔
  17. What does that matter? We’ve just appointed a Technical Director to appoint our new manager. Wankersen won’t have anything to do with it. Ffs.
  18. Which would be a problem if Ankersen were in any way involved in the new manager appointment. And he isn’t. So it isn’t.

    Ivan Juric

Despite Dragan saying on record that he will be….?
  20. Honest question - doesn’t our single year in the EPL mean that next season we will get year 2 of the parachute payments rather than a reset to year 1? Sure I read that somewhere.
  21. That’s a bit of a shiit-take on the situation
  22. Even if only for 6 months, to give him regular, guaranteed minutes, I’d get Evan Ferguson in. Win-win for both clubs and the player.
  23. Ronnie Edwards joins QPR on loan for rest of season.
  24. Perreira suspended today for Fulham. Also Paqueta picked up his 5th yellow yesterday so will miss West Ham’s visit to SMS on Boxing Day.
