Just wondering why you're getting so fed up about the ramblings of 3 or 4 posters (and having to incessantly repeat it all the time). What next??? Roll out that poll again????
-
We're talking about 3 or 4 people who were saying administration would be great just so Lowe wuld get the boot, why don't you PM them with your concerns???

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC

Here's hoping!!! Just as we're a decent proposition to many potential managers out there, I would like to believe that there is something/someone out there who can see some as a bit of a prospect (despite the recent shtstorm!!). But I also fear no one has gone to the wall in such a shtstorm of a financial climate. My view is that it might need the type of consortium that got Leicester out of the mire a few years back (a few celebs, some faces, some money and a helping hand from the fans - who whilst not able to fund all the money, found a decent enough amount to help out). Hence my point (4) above, in that just what does administration for the football club mean???? Surely, even if the Club goes in to administration something will come out the other side and we will remain in the league (but I also have this nagging worry, that in the current climate no one will want us!!!!!) -

I personally don't think the mixed messages coming from the Club, the administrators, interested parties, informed observers, supporters groups, pressure groups, SOS or whoever isn't doing anyone any good at the moment. There seems to be a very obvious lack of clarity, direction and dare I say it leadership. I'm just struggling to get my head around all the various permutations, and when met with silence from some and too much information from others, I find it very difficult to get a grasp on the situation. If anyone could answer any of the following questions then that would be great: 1) What sums are needed to keep us ticking over (how much for how long will suffice)? 2) What is the upshot of not finding these sums - (a) expulsion from the League for not fulfilling fixtures, (b) administration for the football club, © Something else? 3) If (a) I presume we have no Club, is this right and so we start again at the bottom of the pyramid with and AFC Saints. Is this right? 4) If it's (b) what does this entail (in addition to any points deduction next year)? 5) What is the outcome of finding these sums, but no buyer coming forward and then the funds are unableto found again in say Sept 2009 (Is it back to 2) above)? I would like to think that someone comes forward to buy us, but in the absence of that what are the choices (At this point I'd be interested to hear the opinions of those of have been the most vociferous against fan involvement on this thread, as I have to say that as a last resort it may be all we have)??? A) I presume we just fold and start at Level 8/9 - Southern or Wessex League. or B) Is there any way that supporters could club together to do something? If it's (A) what form does the Club/company take that owns AFC Saints??? If it's (B) are the sums involved too big and the issues too large to circumvent? Could it really come off??? I think there's nothing wrong with some of the scepticism on this thread (after all I just don't get the whole situation and I'm not sure given the sums invlved it could work), but have to say some of the misinformation is worrying. I particularly chuckled that someone still has the idea that there will be 10,000 directors all having their say or that ameteurs will end up running the Club!!! Think about how the principle of shareholders work for most companies and you're closer to how it might work (we had 3,000+ shareholders & ten times that amount of stakeholders last time around and we still managed to operate, then again we also had ameteurs running the show then;)). I have doubts about the sums involved and how any additional funding will come on board, but we may have to drop the grandoise ideas that we're too big for this type of thing. Not least because we'll probably be starting the season 25 points behind Exeter, a Club who have risen from near extinction with the support of their fans. Would total fan ownership be top of my list??? NO, but in the absence of any other offers, I'm not sure I would dismiss it out of hand, just like I wouldn't dismiss out hand a consortium containin Wilde, Lowe & Crouch if it wa the only one out there!!!!!!!!! -
You're wrong on quite a few levels, not least that no one would ever pay the full amount of what is owed Aviva (and your bit about the value of SMS in the accounts is a red herring). Happy to explain ore later, but off to work in a mo. I of course may be very wide of the mark, but IMHO Crouch' motives here are not financial. He may be misguided, he may be spot on, or whatever, but IMHO he's doing what he thinks is right to save the Club from oblivion. I honestly don't think him personally making a few £££'s comes anywhere near the equation.
-
If Chorley was briefed by Crouch, then you can rest assured he knew it would come out. It would appear that Crouch is happy to let this message come out, after all he was on the radio last week or whenever giving out exactly the same line. And given Crouch and others messages, I would have to agree with you. I can only assume that the Administrator is keeping at arms length from the Football Club and any of its financial problems, so as not to antagonise the League.
-
They did with some of the Luton Directors (although this was linked to the financial irregularities and not just administration). A few got a few year bans and whopping (not) fines of something like £15,000 down to £250!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Do they know you then come on here and castigate them for not "supporting" the Club as avidly as "us"????
-
We could overhaul both of them on goal difference (If Barnsley lose by something like 4 goals over two games and we won by 4 goals across two games). As for Forest we would have to beat Burnley 1-0 and Forest 2-0 or something like that. Nothing outrageous, but still a very big ask.
-
Aha, so all of those missing 4,000 were the boycotters!!!!!;-) Nothing to do with the rallying calls to raise money, kids for a quid, the rubber neckers, coming to the end of the season and things hotting up etc, the nice weather, etc etc etc. Just all down to the boycotters. 500 or 5,000 (I suppose it just depends what your next argument is)
-
I would also argue that these alternative revenue streams may become detrimental if they absorb too much time, effort, other resources and finally money away from the core business. I don't think anyone has a problem with ancillary revenues contributing to the bottom line, nor trading off of the Football Club (e.g. exploiting the supporter base - in the nicest sense of the term), but the overiding focus of the Club should be in achieving success on the pitch. IMHO everything else derives from that success. Nickh, the radio business was not a sensible decision and it was never intended to be a loss making enterprise in the way you suggest (i.e a subsidised way of reaching out to the supporters). It was always envisaged it would stand on it's own two feet "We believe we can build substantial capital value going forward" and "We believe the radio station will become a significant revenue generator for the Club" and "we remain confident that this business will become a contributor to Club revenues" (only problem, as Sir Alan would point out, was that they forgot to look at the costs!!!!!!!). Given the sums involved in the original purchase and the ongoing losses, it may have been cheaper to ring all of it's listeners up on a personal basis.

So do you really think that the downfall of the Club has had absolutely no impact on attendances and that fans should just turn up regardless of performances, playing quality, entertainment, league position, success etc. To think that these things don't impact on attendances shows you a very faint grasp on reality. You're in fantasy land LMFAO. And as for the mismanagement of funds, then surely it should have been possible to manage the finances to cover the shortfall of 500 fans each game bringing in £10,000 a fortnight (about £4,000 per week on an annual basis). But surely 5,000 people staying away is a huge amount;) Is it 500 or 5,000, we need to be told LMFAO.
-
Quite!!!!! Everyone should have demanded season ticket refunds, no other season tickets bought, no other money into the Club, campaigned to get Lowe out as soon as he got back in and we still may have had a chance of keeping Pearson on. Pearson would then have got us promoted, so actually those who didn't boycott have cost this Club millions and promotion to the Premiership!!!!! (That's about as logical, sensible and consistent as Dibden's latest argument LOL)
-
It seems you change your opinions on a whim in a vain attempt to justify your latest position. Do I want to say the boycotters are insignificant or do I want to claim they brought the Club to it's knees, is it 500 or 5,000. Your strategy is risible. So only a slight difference then( £2.25m+) and at 500 people then the sums involved pale into comparison with others that have contributed to our downfall in recent years. You've done well to get three pages from a noddy concept based on noddy numbers LMFAO.:smt117:smt117 500 or 5,000 (you just need to make sure you don't get the two numbers mixed up when you're next arguing the toss)
-
LMFAO:D;) So when you want to try and downplay those boycotting you pluck out a figure of 500 to beat people with. And then when you want to inflate it you pluck out a figure of 5,000 to beat people with. Consistency not your strong point then??? If you're going to argue the toss, then you could at least do so from a constant position as changing the numbers to suit your latest argument just makes you look rather stupid.
-
I thought you were past the blame game (at least that's what you were saying a few months back LOL): So is the blame game back in town:D And then of course a month or so ago, you thought our attendances were "bloody good". Here's what you said about the 17,000 Derby attendance: So are attendances bloody good or bloody bad. And then of course the grand finale as you seem to have gone up by a power of ten with reagrds stay aways as in November you were claiming: So is 500 or 5,000 ???

The difference between Lowe / Wilde and Crouch
um pahars replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Lowe's media round was not for the good of the Club and I fail to see how him saying anything in the press about rallying the troops for the next two games would be of any value whatsoever (likewise Wilde). Keep quiet and stay away, would be my advice. I think in this instance Wilde and Lowe are doing the right thing. -
I thought we drew!!!!!!!!!!! That's Rumanian shots for you!!!!!!!

Good Chance of it all being over before we kick another ball.

Not if Banrsley only win 1-0 and then lose the next two 2-0 & 2-0, with us winning 2-0 & 2-0 (I think) -
Don't worry, we're all in this together now. There's no need to be so secretive. If you still post on the Ugly Inside board just let Nick Ill know and I'm sure he could get you a gig.:smt038:smt035:smt020:supz: Rock 'n' Roll:smt117:smt117

You pessimist. We will be level on points with Barnsley and above Norwich come 5pm this Saturday with it all to play for at Forest (of course we'll fck that up though!!!!)

Are you lonely now that Tim has disappeared off the radar:rolleyes:;-) FYI I'm off to Bangladesh this summer to work with victims of Ox bites and helping with the rebuilding of a Dam in the Upper Dekkiad Region which was destroyed by a build up of methane gas from the local livestock.:smt117:smt117 Then off to China to work with David Gest's charity. BTW Why doesn't your band do a stint for this Saints Aid thingy:smt035:smt109:smt020:smt041:supz::smt035 Rock n Roll

I think you need to distinguish between the two themes running here. The first one is fair enough, in that Pearson was pretty much an unknown with regards his managerial potential/calibre. He certainly had a decent track record of being an assistant/coach, but as we have found out to our cost that doesn't mean jack with regards stepping up to the plate. But the second theme, which is the one some have had a pop about, is that fact that Pearson as a person was an unknown, or at least to 90% of us (that's what The Farmer was getting at) and I have to say I find that hard to fathom as Pearson was a pretty "big" player for a fair few years at Sheff Weds and Boro (Wembley appearances as Captain etc)

I will have a smidgen of hope if Barnsley get thumped midweek and Bblackpool are hammering Norwich whlst we're in the pub.
