And as for keeping Wotte than it's a big No No for me. And before people go on about stability, then I'm afraid stability cannot justify compunding the initial error and sticking with someone who is not up to the job. He was integral to the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up and must take his share of the blame for 28 games that delivered less than a point a game. He was also misguided in hs initial outbursts and failed to engender any rapport and spirit of unity with the supporters. And then of course there is his performance over the 18 games he has been in charge for. A return of 19 points which would if extrapolated over a season would have had us on 48/49 points, still not enough to save us from being relegated!!!!!!

Of course he was. If you're trying to intimate it was Dodd and Gorman who were his replacements then you're talking jibberish. They were only ever caretakers, and even if you try and suggest that the "foreseeable future" quotes suggested they were permanent, then you conveniently missed the following quotes from the same interviews around 7/8th February. "we will not be rushed into an appointment", "It allows the Club more time over the hunt for a replacement", "We always said we would take our time to make sure we appoint the right person" It allows the Club to take their time over the hunt for a replacement for George Burley.

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
um pahars replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
I agree wholeheartedly and as you say £1.2m for an unproven youngster who the Head Coach has not seen at a time when we're up against it financially does look bonkers. Throw in the fact that we needed strong experienced players as we already had our ful quota of youngsters and it starts to look terrible. For all those who say we were skint and had no options/choice, the simple reply is Poortvliet and Schneiderlin, because in them we made two very, very, very poor decisions that ultimately have cost us big time. -
A really quality post that asks many pertinent questions.

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
um pahars replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Considering the fragile position we were in on and off the pitch then Shcneiderlin's signing would appear to have been very poor value for money. In this instance it was the context of the signing that caused a stir. Throw in the fact that our Head Coach didn't appear to have signed him and never saw him play, then you do start scratching your head about just what was going on. But we have also had many duffers in the past. Speedie and Dixon in return for Shearer still makes me cringe. We then had a rash of players who IMHO never delivered e.g Ripley £2.5m!!, Howells (big wages) , Hughes (wages), Groves, Hirst £2m. Have we had more than our fair share?? Have we always seemed to buy many at mid range prices that then don't deliver?? Or are we exactly the same as many other clubs out there?? -
Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club

That's the problem when you have multiple identities, get banned and pop up again to carry on your trolling, as it must be difficult to keep up with which one of your personalities said what to whom;) A very manly way of apologising, third hand through someone else LMFAO. Your reputation is enhanced with every post you make up here:rolleyes: No, I just consider you a bll shtter who had to have numerous posts removed for trying to spread scurrilous stories about others. Quite fetching when you consider in one of your last posts you were commenting on the potentially libellous claims up here when in fact you're at the front of the queue for having yours pulled. So talking about Sundance in the third person now means we're all thrown off the scent of you and your multiple trolling personalities LOL:D You've fooled us there:smt117 -
NDA's will have been signed to protect the various confidential or sensitive bits of information that these parties will now be privy to (contract terms, employee contracts etc etc etc) and to stop them getting out into the public domain. But IMHO, NDA's do not restrict individuals/consortiums from declaring themselves as being interested in buying the Club (or it's assets).

You've never sent me a PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although someone called SundanceBeast set me many LMFAO:D;) Do you think it would be naughty to share them with others up here??? What's Fashanu up to nowadays and what do you make of Portsmuff winning the Cup??? -
Personally I would say it was nothing like Hoddle for a number of reasons. McMenemy had been here 12 years or so and given us good service He had turned down a number of other offers (Leeds, Man Utd, Newcastle), He had been successful with us, He left in the close season, as opposed to leaving us high and dry, I don't remember then manner of him leaving being underhand, sly or deceitful. Even in those "olden days", 12 years as a manager was a decent stint. And turning down quite a few lucrative and more tempting offers showed quite a degree of loyalty to us. I can understand why people might be bitter and resentful at Eyal Berkovic, or maybe even Redknapp or Hoddle, but struggle to see why we should get all bitter over someone who gave us 12 decent years, success and who also turned down a number of lucrative offers in that period.

But he was chasing the money and glamour of the Premiership and we had little chance of holding on to him as a second tier club (the Wigley connection didn't help either). Just one of those things when you're a Div 2 team, in that the Premiership will take a gamble on youngsters as they have the money to burn.

Collect it and pipe it through the undersoil pipes, or collect the bullsht and spread it over the training pitches at Staplewood;) -
In which case, methinks you need to learn to read young man;)

Strange one all round and someone who suffered from playng under 4 different mangers in 2 years (that's excluding Wise, Bassett, Gorman & Dodd!!!). Came here and played well during his initial loan, only to be treated with disdain at the start of the following season by the same manager (Burley) who had made his move permanent !!!!! Never seemed to recover and John became the star man. Then the following summer was frozen out by the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up and loaned out. Comes back and IMHO not used/motivated well by Wotte. I'm sure Saga's attitude and commitment can be doubted, but the circumstances he has had to put with haven't helped (not that they have helped many to be honest!!!).

Absolutely. Nickh, NickG, JohnB and many others regularly post stuff up here that I vehemently disagree with, but I enjoy reading differing views and takes on things. It would indeed be dull if we all thought the same way and very often those with opposing, or slightly different viewpoints, make interesting and valid points. And that is exactly the difference. The way that this regurgitated poster trolls, antagonises, abuses, slurs and generally conducts himself ensures he is clearly seen for what he is. Someone just forwarded me his old PM that he sent around and it certainly backs up the fact he is merely trolling for attention;) 19C, just like his previous guises, does a very good job of grooming and befriending one or two posters in order to achieve some sort of credibility on here. Weston is merely the latest to fall for this ruse, because as you say, nothing I have ever heard from or seen from Weston in the past would suggest he has nything whatsoever in common with this troll. -
If we lose today then Wotte's record over a full season would have seen us get 48/49 points which would still be relegation form!!! He was integral to the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up that cost this Club so dearly in the first half of the season and has shown nothing in his solo stint to suggest he is the man to lead us out of the wilderness. Throw in his ill adivsed comments which didn't endear him to the fanbase, strong snippets that the dressing room isn't all sweetness and light with him in charge, and I think it's a definite no no with regards next season. IMHO one of our biggest problems this season was that it took too long for the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up to become accustomed to Championship Football and we simply cannot affor to have someone learning on the job again. Sadly, I was worried that history would repeat itself with the one bit of short term success that Poortvliet achieved was following on from Wotte who had presided over the relegation and "administration" of Den Bosch!!!!

We had just bought Rasiak, Fuller was still at the Club, Kenwyne was coming through, BWP had just come in and of course there was Best (maybe even DMG!!!) competing for places. Just one of those things for me that happens in football. A manager favours his own players and overlooks others who might/could be good players.
-
Absolutely. The League have interpreted the rules and the situation to state that the Football Club are effectively in Admnistration and so effectively they could (and I think they will) do exactly the same with regards any CVA, in that they will once again deem the PLC and Club to be inextricably linked and therefore be treated as such.

I did an analysis of Leauge position over the last 10, 20, 30 & 40 years a while back as someone had descrbed us as cannon fodder. Here's the results: Starting from the 2004 season (i.e. the one before we got relegated) and going backwards our average league position has been: 10 years to 1995 = 13th 20 years to 1985 = 13th 30 years to 1975 = 14th 40 years to 1965 = 15th I don't think anyone has ever claimed us to be up there with the big boys regularly fighting for trophies, but over the last 40 years to be 15th out of 92 in the footballing pyramid is a pretty good record. Going back 40 years to 1965 would probably cover the vast majority of those who come on this board, but even going back to late 1950's, we're probably still in the top 20.

I mistakenly deleted those belters of PM's we all got:D:D Hardly sensible;) You're quite right, in that I have said before that his various guises spout so much rubbsh, he finds it difficult to continue with the act LOL. PS Could you forward me your copy of the PM'ss if you still have it (only those that were originally sent to me as well mind). -

You lost me at the first sentence;) Sensible posters don't get banned by the Admins on numerous occasions (only to reappear under different names) and they certainly don't get a number of their posts deleted/amended by the Admins for spouting fallacies, inaccuraces and libellous comments. I can only assume you have a rather different notion on what is sensible than many others. -
I hope it's not all my fault that we got those 10 points deducted:mad:

I think inappropriate is indeed the best way of describing this decision. Should Lowe be blackballed from St Mary's, or from watching Saints forever? I don't think so, but with the pain so raw and recent, he would have been better advised to keep his head down unitl things had panned out. I have been saying for years that at times like this Cowen should kick his shins under the table and whisper "bad idea". There's something rather weird about his insistence of staying in the limelight and brassing it out. I always had a worry that Lowe just didn't "get it" and there is noting in his recent words or actions that have made me change my mind on that one (if anything, it's enhanced that perception of him).
