  1. You missed out the massive loss of Pekhart!!!!!!!!!! As you say (and as I posted on another thread), I think we've come out the other side of January stronger than we went into it, so that's a plus. But that's not to say that we have to be happy clappy on every signing, and so I think it is also fair to remain to be convinced of this signing who struggled to get a game for Stevenage!!!!!
  2. I would be very, very, very surprised if that was the case. (and besides I'm sure there would have been some announcement had this been the case).
  3. Oh yeah, that's right, there's a mass of supporters who want us to fail and go under just so they can rid themselves of Lowe. What a pathetic statement and as with Franks Cousin, I think you have a rather lwo opinion of your fellow fans. (two or three nutters maybe, nut not the many you and Frank whinge on about).
  4. I think we have come out of the window stronger than we went into it. Saga is a big, big plus, Saeijs is looking good. Molyneux and Smith, not so good, and this new guy I'm not expecting much from. Cork was a big loss, Pearce less so, and Pekhart and Robertson ............. The biggest plus is Saga, as finally we have someone who knows where the net is. I just hope we haven't left it too late.
  5. I see where you're coming from
  6. But it's also not to say I'm right!!!!!!! Lowe could have reduced costs so much, that one off sums aren't as important anymore. The interims (due out soon) might give us some indication. But my gut feel is that we probably should have raised some cash this window. Of course, we may have agreed with the bank that relegation has to be avoided at all costs and the slashing has to be twice as big in the summer, or alternatively some other assets might be up for disposal (or even a sale and lease back on some of them).
  7. Pekhart Robertson Pearce Cork (Dyer in/then out;))
  8. And then sue them and get some of the dosh they'll be getting from West Ham!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I now worry we might get there a bit earlier than we had thought, given we haven't raised any income this window!!!!!!
  10. Looking at some of his stats, then I think he's more back up than waltzing straight in. Almost joined Huddersfield in Jan 2007, but eventually went to Southend that summer, but never made a start for them. He went to Stevenage on loan for a month at the back end of 2007, but only played twice (his last game against Salisbury in Dec 2007).
  11. I was more concerned with that quote:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
  12. We should also be considering the fitness of our players, suspensions, their long drive down, a reduced away contingent perhaps (even though we have their cash already;)), any suspensions and injuroes they may have, costs already incurred, and then make whatever decision suits us best!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. And I would accept a few, a few who are bitter, twisted and have lost their sense of rationality. Just like there a few who are bitter and twisted against Crouch, McMenemy, Wilde, Corbett, Jones, Cowen, etc etc etc. But that's a world away from saying many of those who hold a valid reason for not wanting Lowe involved in the decision making, would rather we went down/go into administration, as opposed to seeing us survive and blossom and be proved wrong.
  14. It's obvously important to some people. I'm sure it's not as important as your family, close friends and your health, but I have to say that this Club plays a considerable part in the lives of many and an important role in the community. I can't imagine myself marching for many causes, in fact Saturday was the first time I have ever gone on one. I think you underestimate how important the Club is to many people.
  15. Waffle on as much as you like, but the bottom line reamins that it is extremely patronising to assume that only you (and those in "your" camp) have the moral fibre to accept being wrong if it meant the Club benefitted. There are a very few (and in no way the "many" you like to whinge about) who would like to see Lowe fail even if it meant the Club failed as well. A couple of loons, the odd troll and a Portsmuff fan, that's it. IMHO the vast majority of Saints fans want us to succeed, regardless of who is in charge and whoever gets the plaudits. To suggest otherwise is pretty insulting. I can even remember starting (or maybe contributing to) a thread to dispel such a myth and I think there were probably only two or three respondents who said they wanted Saints to fail just so Lowe could be gotten rid of. So do you really think that those who have an opposing view to you must by default have a lower integrity threshold than your goodself? That tehy would not be capable to act in the manner that you would? There are many honourable people on both sides of the argument, and your sweeping accusation regarding those on one side is rather pathetic IMHO.
  16. Roger Bannister could run 5 miles for a start.
  17. Behave;)
  18. I may be a lone voice on this one, but I'm not overly sure that zero movement out and more importantly, zero money in, is such a good thing. Of course, there is definitely a massive concern that any players out would weaken an already desperate team, but the other side of the coin is that, as Jones said (and as we saw from last years accounts), I reckon we need some decent money coming in to keep us afloat!!!!!! I have no idea what the exact position is, but do think we need player trading to help reduce the losses.
  19. Get in the real world. I'm sure we would all love this to be a Utopian Club where everyone gets on together and we all live in peace and harmony. However, a very considearable number of supporters hold the very valid view that having Lowe at the helm and in charge of decisions will be to the detriment of this Club. Therefore, IMHO they also believe that in protesting against him and seeking his removal is a decent and honourable position to take. And anyway, if you think fan unity is bullsht, then why are you preaching that we should all forget our differences and get behind the manager?? And as for your last point about division playing to a certain camp, then I do hope you are (and have been ) consistent with your criticism, as division, rancour and mistrust has been a tactic that both sides have used in the past.
  20. Apart from calling Poortvliet's CV and the man himself a work of fiction from day one (although my nephew called that right as well).
  21. I think the vast majority would, but in making such a grandoise claim and by insinuation suggesting the other side wouldn't, then I have to say I think it makes look as though you're grandstanding.
  22. My angst is more to do with the fact that he's strengthening a relegation rival, more than we should have been in for him.
