  1. I totally agree. People were asking whether Lowe will step down because of this march and the obvious answer is of course not. But what this protest did was to provide a platform for people to come together and to try and start a process that can grow and grow. We're quite a shy bunch down here and will only step out from the shadows once others have shown us the way. I think the way was shown yesterday and I would like to believe that this could be the start of something positive for our Club.
  2. Do we have a Director of Football??? And which one of the management team did you hear the rumours about, was it Kim Van Der Waals???
  3. Little Manhattan got Poortvliet spot on though didn't he;). Even his little sister, Palestina said at the time of the appointment, "You know what Uncle, I think this Revolutionary coaching set up will be the downfall of the Club. Why are we going for an untried and untested coach who has limited experience of this division? At this crucial time, why don't we go for someone more experienced as we can't afford for him to learn on the job. "In fact, what would have been better Uncs, would be for us to have kept Pearson on. I think that decision will come back to haunt us. I'm also very unsure of this guys insistence of playing the youth, his insistence to only play one formation and I don't think he will be very good in the transfer market. "I'm sure some will ask to give him time, but I don't think we've got time. They'll be saying things like give him a chance, but I don't think the league will let us replay opur games if he's no good, will they? "I'll ask my PE teacher tomorrow if he can throw his hat in the ring cos he likes to work with youngsters and his PE dept budget is really small. Can't be any worse then this bloke that Lowe has brought in";) Looks like she was right as well.
  4. I don't know where this bloke was coming from and it's not something I would agree with, but it is very plausible to form this opinion if it is your belief that in suffering some short term pain, the Club could emerge from the other side much stronger. I personally think relegation would mean adminsitration, which will be a disaster, but if you think that out of the other side will come a stronger Club than one that is continually divided and fcked over by Lowe's poor decisions, then I can see where he might be coming from. He would argue that he is putting his feelings for the club way before his feelings for one individual.
  5. The lack of real cash did not force Lowe to sack Pearson and install a complete joke of a manager!!!! IMHO, the single biggest thing that can impact on a team is the manager, and Lowe got it spectacularly wrong last summer. And in doing so he actually compounded our acute financial problems as crowds dwindled due to the absence of the ability to win at home.
  6. Cheers for that. We certainly read it that the board deemed it necessary to make a change and that Poortvliet had jumped before he was pushed.
  7. Is that from the programme?? If so, I thought there was another line on there that intimates that the board took the decision and not Poortvliet.
  8. OK cheers for that. I know Wotte was given a hard time by Feyenoord fans, but also noticed that a few others were critical of him regarding a number of relegations at various clubs. Is there any susbstance in those claims??? Also noticed he was at Den Bosch just prior to Poortvliet and his stint there ended in relegation and administration. I know he came in half way through the season, so how was that viewed?? Were they too far gone by then??
  9. You're not wrong there Rich!!!!!!! The way this partnership (if not quadruship) was portrayed was that it would be a "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" with everyone getting stuck in, roles flexible and everyone involved in the decision making process. As it turns out Hockaday gets fcked off (still no news from the Club, they're great at communicating aren't they?) and it turns out Wotte can't distance himself quickly enough from Jan, who has been conveniently hung out to dry, with Wotte absolving himself from everything that has gone on last season. The only thing I'm not sure about is that Poortvliet wanted out at the first opportunity, because IMHO he was kicked out and the resiging bit was about face saving (on both sides). In fact yesterdays programme notes by Wilde were rather contradictory with this regard, as first of all said Poortvliet had resigned, and then it went on to say something like "the board decided we had to make a change" (I'm sure someone with a programme can put up the actual text). What makes it worse is all the fcking rubbish and bullsht spouted on the OS and just as bad in The Echo. You really couldn't make it up.:smt022
  10. What a noddy thread, started by you know who:rolleyes::rolleyes: As for this last piece of disinformation, I await Franks' Cousin and the others who carry the sword of truth to shoot this down in flames. A statement such as this is as hypothetical as claiming Pearson would have us in the top two and would have us challenging for Europe in 2 seasons. After the Sheffield United match, there was a glimmer of hope, a potential for unity and a chance we could all work together to get us out of this black hole. Those hopes, glimmers and chances were shattered when Lowe came back, sacked Pearson and installed the abject failure that was Poortvliet. This thread is nothing more than a vain attempt to deflect criticism awya from Lowe and to try and deflate a very positive and well supported protest. Threads like this should actually inspire those to continue this protest.
  11. "Despite everything we have said over the last few months, in reality I had this much to do with what went on before, honest. It's all Jan's fault, honest"
  12. I understand there is one dead duck going spare over in Helmond, and you may be able to find another Dutch free range lame duck in Room 402 of the De Vere!!!
  13. You're wasting your time with, as I actually think he's American and irony is obviously lost on him;)
  14. Hopefully, there will come a time when Lowe will not be football related;)
  15. you're wasting your time with one of Lowe's and Poortvliet's (and now Wotte's main apologists). Depsite being told this was a "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" with everyone being interchangaeable and involved, and a vision of shared responsibility and team work, we are now being fed that actually that wasn't the case. As Wotte himself said: Now it's a case of hanging Jan out to dry (probably throwing Hockaday to the wolves as well) and saying that Wotte had fck all to do with what went on in the past. To be honest, the hypocrisy, bullsht and double standards is something we're accustomed to, but it still amuses me when the usual suspects attemot to rewrite history in order to gloss over the glaring errors overseen by some at the Club.:rolleyes:
  16. Would you give little Manhattan the same amount of time that you gave that legend Jan Poortvliet to try and prove himself??? In fact, his little sister Palestina could probably do a better job than the man you were imploring us to persevere with:smt088:smt088:smt088 Did Jan pop by for a cup of tea on his way to Dover?? Did he survive the Medway Mafia? Mwah:smt054
  17. You're on the money LOL. Just imagine the furore if Gerry was unveiled at SMS.:smt022:smt022:smt022, even if someone came up with a fake CV and some obscure claims about how he won 3 promotions from the Zezde Klasse and can operate with no money. Looking back that fcking CV issue was hilarious and all those stories about how he can work with youngsters and no money!!!!!! What's been the reaction in the Dutch media to Poortvliet and Wotte swapping roles????
  18. I think the other clubs are lapping up the fact we appointed a Dutch no hoper, sacked him after he dropped us in the relegation places, and then employed his sidekick who six months previously was only deemed suitable as reserve team coach and who is as actually as complicit in our recent failings as the no hoper we sacked!!!!!! I think the "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" may have slightly more impact than a protest march:rolleyes::rolleyes: Besides, I would say the passion in the protest transferred itself to support for the team yesterday.
  19. In which case he should have kept his counsel and not involved himself in something that he knows nothing about. Quite frankly he should have kept his patronising comments to himself. We are not "easy with our judgement" and have been fairly patient and understanding this season, despite being served up a continuum of rubbish. I lost a degree of respect for Poortvliet when he complained about the crowds response in the Doncaster game, when frankly he should have been worried about being such an abject failure. I'm actually surprised the supporters held out for so long!!! As for Wotte, well quite frankly considering he was a central pillar of the "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up", he would do better in attempting to win us over by getting points on the board, as opposed to aiming cheap shots at the supporters who he and others have massively let down this season.
  20. Absolutely. I'd much rather have Martinez leaving being pssed off, as opposed to the legendary Owelumo, amongst many others, telling us we were great (and BTW thanks for the three points). Looking back, it's cringeable how some of those defeats were portrayed on the OS and it's sister outlet The Daily Echo.
  21. Well as usual, you're too quick to post without reading what others have posted, something you have been far too guilty of in recent months on here. But if you're still of the belief that Paul Allen was all ready to rock up then you're as delusional as SOG. Conversation over (and you can even have the last word). HTH
  22. A sniper????? I think an M73 frag grenade would be a better bet!!! Cue the drama queens, bed wetters and sanctimonious on here frothing at the mouth.
  23. It's not normally that I will post stuff told to me under a strict blackout, but think this thread is worthy of breaking that code. Even though he is still under contract I have been told that Crouch/Corbett/Fulthorpe have a provisional agreement to install Gerry Hamstra as our new manager. Please don't quote this post as I may want to delete it in a few minutes, but this has come from a very trusted source.
  24. So during a match fans experience the highs and lows, the emotion of winning and losing, the anguish of a sloppy goal and the delight and joy of an equaliser. Fck me, have you ever been to a football match????? Even after it's ended the passion, anger, desire and joy are still there for quite a while. Of course you're going to get knee jerk reactions (both ways), because after all this is football, a passionate game steeped in history, passion, pride and a community spirit. But away fromt the matchday passion, the wider long term feeling amongst many Saints fans aren't knee jerk, but instead they are considered rational and objectively held, so to suggest we are "very easy in our judgement" is somewhat objectionable and not in the least necessary in current circumstances.
  25. He was complicit with what went on before, so sorry. but I don't buy this "Let's hang Jan out to dry" philosophy. They have not impressed me and I think he is treading a dangerous line by involving himself in the politics of the Club and making cheap comments about the supporters. If he cannot empathise with supporters, then he would be better off talking about football only. It never worked last time when Lowe wheeled out Burley, Claus & others to try and drum up support for his failing regime and it won't work this time. Wotte is allied to Lowe, that much is obvious, and understandable, but the best way forward for him would be to get points on the board as opposed to scoring cheap points in interviews. And we have heard that a million times in recent months. It wasn't long ago that we were told everything was rosey and bright times were just around the corner, so please excuse me if I prefer to ignore such platitudes and instead judge people on their deeds and not their words.
