  1. I think now the focus has moved to who they bring in alongside Selles, and this will have to be a person currently out of work and out of contract - the 'quality' pool has dried up due to Sport Republic's reckless mismanagement.
  2. Queue jumping old bastard!
  3. Remarkable that the first time we have the money to invest in the team in the Prem, the money man decides to leave the decision making to the fucking Krankies!
  4. Matt Hancock.
  5. Leftfield as they come, but if Saints are looking at a former star player with a credible managerial record to come in and mentor Selles on a short term deal maybe have a chat with Gattuso. Just left Valencia by mutual consent with a 57% win average and could be kicking his heels down to May. Also, would likely nut Ankersen if negotiations break down. No chance of course, but if the Ramusbots are tuning in got to be worth an email…😀
  6. At least that would see the end of Lyanco and Jammy B!
  7. Selles with Mourinho as sage, plus Fonte as defensive coach. Of course 😂
  8. Blimey! Obviously Semmens and Ankersen are more odious in the flesh than on Zoom!
  9. Clearly we still have a project - it just so happens that it’s Rasmus Ankersen’s undergraduate work experience project!
  10. JM on the clubs radar when he went to Leeds, and that’s why this has happened quickly I feel. It may be that other candidates discussed have been passed over to get this done quickly and lined up for Chelsea. Likely that the end of season contract has come from Marsch or his advisors, club would likely have preferred longer after Jones debacle and it’s ramifications. Maybe Marsch extends during summer whether we scrape up or go down but options kept open - fair enough. Hughes comparison is interesting as MH didn’t come in until mid-March. JM has got a month longer but a more challenging starting position. I’m actually really interested to see how he gets on and if he can positively engage our players into an organised unit. Somewhat optimistic, that at least we have something to look forward to for the remainder of the season - a sporting chance. COYR!
  11. Talk of some toing and froing over contract terms last few days and looks like resolved yesterday. Think likely it’s Marsch being cautious and keeping options open, but to be honest end of season should suit both parties. JM has something to prove and if he achieves it deserves the offer of an extension or the opportunities elsewhere.
  12. Southampton aren’t Leeds, both in terms of historical vanity or personnel. Been reviewing his teams and previous set ups in US and Europe. If Marsch picks our best players in his preferred formation I think this could be a good match right now. Likely too late to save us but let’s have a bloody good go! These young players will at least know what he wants and what they should be doing in and out of possession. A further modicum of endearment was finding Marsch’s introductory tackle on golden balls beckham in the US league - a cracker 😀
  13. Spot on, my view too. About regaining some self-respect and cohesion as a club.
  14. My money was on Croatia.

  16. Good point in terms of analogy. If I remember correctly Hughes didn’t replace the donkey until mid-March. Should be a piece of piss for the new man with an extra month.
  17. In tough Welsh mining towns this phrase was extended to ‘nylons and gum, platoon up the bum!’ and that was just the brass band.
  18. The language of love 💕
  19. In the aftermath of Jones’ sacking this board feels a lot more upbeat, and a reality check has kicked in both in terms of where we are at present and likely scenario come May. I didn’t want Marsch but I have given him the same benefit of doubt I gave Nathan Jones prior to him being officially announced. Watched a lot of video last 48 hours in terms of JM’s football and interviews. Talked to Leeds fans I know. Football is attacking and should at least be fun and interesting, particularly with the January signings. Post Biesla Leeds didn’t back Marsch. Interview style is cheesy to our Brit ears but he seems earnest, frank and likeable. A vast improvement on Jones and if he’s announced potentially the right fit for us right now. Beggars can’t be choosers, particularly when the destitution is self-inflicted by your Danish guru.
  20. Good call with Fonte if that’s the decision.
  21. You have to admire a man who can swear in two languages simultaneously!
  22. Greg Ratcliffe is fucking ace, hopefully he gets the Saints gig for the Athletic, failing that community service.
  23. Thorup and Selles investigate the case of the monkey’s mining village.
  24. Coal flavour!
  25. Comparing Jones and Jesse a breath of fresh air in the dental hygene sense too!
