  1. Hope so. A version of this trad number with navy shorts would be rather nice:
  2. Matt Hancock and Michael Barrymore.
  3. Quite fancy a cagey draw up there and beat them at St Marys in a replay.
  4. Reckon Rasmus is now moonlighting as his agent.
  5. Charlton Chairman: "We’re really pleased to appoint Nathan Jones. He is a Manager of real pedigree who has a track record of building successful teams over a period of time. We were really impressed with the quality of candidates interested in coming to Charlton. Through our initial research, the in-depth interview process and the references we took, Nathan was the clear stand out. He is a great fit for Charlton given his ability to get his teams playing football on the front foot, with a passion and an intensity. He is an excellent coach, who is tactically savvy and an outstanding developer of talent!" Wish Nat and the Latics well, he's certain to raise the passion and aggression levels inside the Valley!
  6. Starting to feel rather like those promotion seasons under Adkins now, though sacrilege, personally I prefer watching this team - the loanee express! For my youngest boy it’s his first season with a season ticket and I’ve been saying for months (to him and on here) to take stock end of January. Also that Saints will need to forget about sides alongside and concentrate on ticking along, like a metronome. For auto promotion in the football league you need a bit of Terminator or Anton Chigurh about you. Here we are. The recent run of games over December and January has built genuine confidence and its hard to see us losing that now, of course we may blip, but likelihood is it will just be a blip not coming off the rails. There is too much quality and pride in this side for that now in my opinion. I also think that we win our game in hand and that by the time we play Leeds we are likely to already be up. Fraser has said the target for this side is now Leicester and I think that’s the internal focus now. So many Saints sides over the years would have lost or drawn those two away games at Swansea or Rotherham, not this team. You could see yesterday that Saints had a second and third gear in reserve and appeared to be conserving energy, the measure of the best teams. Brooks in his cameo looked a class apart, and we know that the likes of KWP, THB, Fraser and Downes already are. It’s in our hands now and I think eyes are on the prize - good times after years of gruel. COYR!
  7. Just jumped aboard the Natty J express at Charlton, his first signing.
  8. Luddite error and posted on the wrong thread of course, but on reflection the sentiment clearly stands. Very content with both SFC and the CoT at present and feeling a lot of positivity from a majority of the Saintsweb community after a challenging start last autumn. Our trajectory seems inextricably linked to Russell Martin! 👊 🙂
  9. Love watching this team, pride back in the club. Business like today. In our hands now lads.
  10. Good player for us Gerry Forrest. Hopefully a decent reception from the travelling contingent.
  11. That’s sublime. If ever there was a goal to sum up the progress this Saints team have made from the start of this campaign to now…
  12. Excellent at SMS.
  13. First time this century!
  14. All about who has stayed, given 7 points but probably 6 of those were for KWP who is so far ahead of the curve in this league it's embarrassing in some games. Auto promotion is in this squad, and it would be great to achieve that and keep KWP whilst signing the likes of THB and Brooks.
  15. That's some team and bench in the Championship.
  16. Must win today. 2-0 up halftime, Brooks debut at 60mins and could be 3 or 4-0. COYR!
  17. Having mulled this over, we were only going to get another out and out striker if Adams had left, and this would likely have been one of the lads in the Scottish Premier. That could have been an relatively expensive hit and miss on a number of levels. Adams has got nine goals in all competitions this year and has looked sharper recently (albeit that this may be some of the previous transfer window vim). We at least know what we are getting and he knows his teammates and the system, on his day he is a real handful particularly against the more physical teams in this league and we me see the bruise brothers version this afternoon v Rotherham. First time in years there are goal threats throughout this Saints team, and we have brought in more guile, goals and assists via Brooks. Management and squad all look genuinely up for the second half of the season and I think it's in Che's interest and ours that he's an intrinsic part of that. Optimistic.
  18. That's got to be a good appointment, grew up in Southampton and was in the youth set up, played getting on for 150 games for Saints plus England U21 going on to have a solid career in top two divisions. Always thought Surman would come back to SFC and glad that it's now alongside current coaching staff - he will know RM well from his time at MK Dons.
  19. You'd have to back Jonesy to beat that record.
  20. Hopefully this saves us a few quid. Feel sorry for Charlton, but then again would feel sorry for 69 other clubs having to tolerate that toxic taffy bell end.
  21. Back on the sauce combined with the IQ of a tennis racquet.
  22. ‘Less attitude more gratitude’ should be a discussion theme for the End of Window party.
  23. Most likely:
  24. You'd think he'd have at least done his shoelaces up!
