I knew a bloke who had his head shaved and then had a spider's web tattooed all over his head and face. When he grew up, he killed himself. Is there a connection between the two? I don't know.

Maybe I'm being naive here, but surely it's not beyond the wit of man to pass a law that says that, if an owner puts his business into administration, he cannot buy it out of administration at a knock-down price. Ordinary, law-abiding citizens can't wipe off their debts like this (unless they declare themselves bankrupt or get an IVA with all the penalties that brings) so why should business owners? Or is that too simple?

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

Whilst I think the BBC has dumbed down to some extent (television, that is) I guess that's because they're charged with increasing audience share and they have to compete with the dross that is shown on the commercial channels. Last night, I watched a programme about David Attenborough, followed by the latest instalment of the excellent David Tennant drama. Those two programmes alone delivered far better value for money than the £70 odd a month we pay for Sky. If it was my decision alone, I'd cancel Sky right now and I never watch ITV. -
Why - you'll only regret it when you're grown up.

Your colleague is allowed to have a 'friend' with him. If he's in a union, they will do the job, but if not, then you can. I know it's not a grievance in the normal sense of the word, but this site might help: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/ResolvingWorkplaceDisputes/Grievanceprocedures/DG_10027992

TLS - I don't know anything about university funding. I was hoping to highlight that, bit by bit, this government is going back on all its big plans. They seem to be bowing to the slightest bit of pressure / telling fibs. Crikey - they'll even be adopting Labour's spending / cuts plans next -

So - the coalition is doing an about-turn on tuition fees by now capping them and, in addition, and in spite of promises that funding for the pupil premium would not result in cuts to the education budget, they've been telling stories on that one too! Even the Dems have been Conned this time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11615216
