Well this looks like a result:
Saving a football club – preserving its future
In 2004 Wrexham FC entered administration, owing nearly £900,000 to the Inland Revenue and with debts of almost £2.5 million. These problems had arisen for a variety of reasons, including the collapse of ITV Digital and poor cup runs. The Club decided to petition for administration in a bid to avert a liquidation petition by the Inland Revenue.
Begbies Traynor was appointed to try to help the Club recover, particularly since it appeared that the owners had intended to sell off the land for property development, having transferred legal ownership of the land from the Club to themselves. Begbies Traynor sued for the return of the land to the Club on the basis that the owners had not acted in the Club’s best interests. The Court supported Begbies Traynors’ action and the land was returned to the Club. Begbies Traynor sought and found new purchasers - and Wrexham FC is still an active club with a loyal following.
