  1. Can I choose August 2nd then. It's a Thursday - the one day a week I don't have easy access to PTS and all the good news seems to happen on a Thursday. Thursday is to the phew what Friday was to us! Tx
  2. Miliband went to a state comprehensive school http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Miliband Miliband was educated at Primrose Hill Primary School, Camden, Featherbank Primary School, Leeds,[7] and then Haverstock Comprehensive School in Chalk Farm, North London.
  3. That's a broad brush. For example, I think David Puttnam (sp?) is doing a good job.
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18787009 He may have found his niche - lots of 'deals' to be done in Russia
  5. Given that there is no provision elsewhere for such things as clothes, haircuts, TV licence etc,. I guess those are the sorts of things included in 'social activities'?
  6. Teaching dance / exercise classes. I enjoyed working as a dancer but didn't enjoy life on the road so much. But teaching it - wow! I earned sh*t loads of money doing something I didn't even think of as work. Shame I ruined it all by going on a skiing holiday and buggering my knee
  7. Retired but not retiring - but caring for two grandchildren two days a week (soon to be four grandchildren) - best job ever!
  8. I've just bought an ASUS laptop - relatively cheap one as I no longer need one for work. I'm really pleased with it and it's so light to carry.
  9. At the risk of sounding extremely dim (yep - have a pop now, I'm ready for it) but is it right you need a conventional TV aerial to get BT vision?
  10. I presume you're asking a rhetorical question because we all know he hasn't won a slam, yet. However, those titles he HAS won obviously do matter to him and to all the other top ranking tennis players. That's why they compete in them. It's their performances in the Masters that dictate their world rankings.
  11. Dear lord If there's a shortage of something (gifted tennis players / actors) in a field awash with sponsorship and other money, then those at the top get well rewarded. I don't suppose there's a massive shortage of salesmen of the month however.
  12. This doesn't make sense. The slams are part of the ATP series. Is what a grand slam?
  13. You're in sales but you don't understand market forces / supply and demand?????
  14. The slams are part of the Masters series.
  15. Were you competing against the whole world then? Stupid analogy.
  16. I'm surprised that the top 3 even bother to enter the ATP Masters then since, in your book, they don't matter.
  17. It's just been pointed out to you that he's won 22 ATP tournaments. He earned $5m last year (if you bothered to look at his record you'd see he doesn't WIN that every year). A lot of his income comes from sponsorship. You don't get to be number four in the world by 'not winning anything'.
  18. Here is Murray's ATP record http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Players/Top-Players/Andy-Murray.aspx?t=mr You will see from this that he has won 22 titles, although obviously no slams.
  19. Turkish, are you suggesting tennis should revert to being an amateur game - only 'gentlemen' should play? Because that would mean only the wealthy could participate (the same could apply to cricket, rugby, football, athletics .....) An expert tennis commentator was saying only the other day that the likes of Fred Perry wouldn't have stood a chance against today's players because the level of fitness and athleticism is so much higher. That probably wouldn't have happened if tennis remained an amateur sport.
  20. I think you're all barking up the wrong tree. They'll all be collared before they can get to play.
  21. I see two main things. Firstly, until today, Murray had beaten Federer more than Federer had beaten Murray. They are now drawn. He has also beaten Nadal 5 times, although Nadal has beaten him more times. He has beaten Djokovic 5 times and lost 8 times. So he's been a winner on many occasions over men above him in the world rankings. But these are ALL matches, and you only want to consider the slams. Fine - but last year he earned over $5m. So he's not doing so badly, is he - beating all the top 3 on occasions and earning that sort of money.
