Agreed, we can hold out for more if WHU are the team to come in though. I'm starting to lean with Fareham's view - there's much better value abroad for that kind of money.
-
We could be in for a decent pay day if West Ham do indeed come in for JWP. £40-45m, that'll do nicely.
-
In fairness, that's not what the tweet says. But agreed on the love in / brutal killing side of things
-
Agree to disagree I guess, I suppose it is a strange choice of opponent. But I can't say I get that wound up about what a few (and I mean literally a few in Bournemouth's case) numpties sing. We got that at most grounds last season anyway.
-
Crying about it being embarrassing is giving ammo to Bournemouth fans, you're right. If they truly aren't our rivals, then it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure what they've got to brag about anyway, it's not like we're going to be lording our superior status over Reading when we go up there.
-
Who honestly cares? Even if the Harlem Globetrotters came to town, it'd still be shit to watch as all pre-season friendlies are. Why is it a problem if we're playing Bournemouth?
-
Around £45m and a 20-25% sell-on clause - that would be fair enough. We've dug this hole for ourselves by getting relegated - and City would've had him back for £32m next season with presumably no sell-on clause anyway.
-
Is it not a bit weird that we've had zero movement so far? Less than two weeks until pre-season starts, is anyone going to be there?
-
Shite. He was shite when he got here, and was no better when he came back from Celtic yet he became one of the first names on the teamsheet. Good riddance.
-
That would be a club record for Burnley, but I'm not sure how much that means in the grand scheme of things nowadays. Will be interesting to see how much we hold out for.
-
Let him go if he wants to leave. As above, I can't see him getting close to 10 goals in the PL anyway. Would be great to get close to the £25m mark for him but probably unlikely.
-
Coady would be a statement of intent imo. Get it done
-
Whatever happened to to each their own?
-
Leicester have the 21st-highest wage bill in the world (nearly £80m a year), whereas we have the 34th-highest and Leeds are 35th (about £50m each). Crazy.
-
He didn't even do the first bit in the end 😅
-
Nice to see we're going to have some truly exhilarating discussions over this summer break
-
We could do a lot worse if Tella or Sulemana are off...
-
Mads Andersen of Barnsley looks a great defender.
-
I hope City buy him and loan him to a Palace-type club, or abroad. I'd hate to see him wasted on a big six bench.
-
It's easy to say he will score at Champ level because he's done it before, but I'm not sure at all. Even without stats, you can see that he is a truly terrible footballer. His touch is up there with the worst I've ever seen, he can't bring others into play, he has no physical presence (through no fault of his own) and his finishing is constantly snatched. I'd be in favour of a clean break.
-
I said it last summer which might have been a bit premature but I'd like Cameron Archer on loan with an option to buy if we go up. I wouldn't have thought he's in Emery's plans for next season.
-
Hopefully he nails his colours to the mast again if it happens. Gives him no way out if it goes wrong again.

The anecdotes around Sam Edozie and Juan Larois Southampton transfer
SambaMaverick replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
I hope Juan Larios gets to play against that Luton team next season. I'd have popcorn at the ready for that. I'm calling it now - he never plays another PL game. -
Loving this game. Full blooded and gripping, everything we've been missing.
-
I was told he was leaving the day after the end of 2021-22
