Brentford are unbeaten in the league. They won away at Carlisle 1-3 on the opening day; drew 0-0 home to Brighton; and beat Norwich 2-1 at home the other night. We (up 'til now) have been pretty pizz-poor (to put it mildly) in our last 2 games away from SMS. However - we're at home tomorrow - and therefore we should have a bit more about us - especially with the new lads if they play. I'm hoping they will inject a bit more know-how/bottle into the side than we've seen of late. I don't expect many goals - but I do expect Rickie Lambert to score the only goal of the game. Saints 1 Brentford 0

lol - vere are your paperz schvinehunt?

Ah - the owner/manager/boardroom/team may change - but the fans remain the same!

I think SKY have jumped the gun a bit on this one. On saturday - regular Preston CB Youl Mawene did his hamstring in and certainly faces a few weeks on the sidelines. There are calls (from the fans) to give Trotman his place (" Super Sub 'Trots' to the bench!!" - "Give Trotman a go. He's ready!" - "trotman is ready chillie still finding his feet lets get 3 points and lets play trotman..." etc). Perhaps it was on the cards (a move to SMS) - but I feel that may now all change.

Give the experienced JPS a shout across the North Sea to play alongside this lad and I'll be a lot happier!
-
Yeah. Perhaps we can all bring along Bizzle Rovers flags & banners on Saturday to really make him feel at home...
-
Both Raza & saga want away - can't be arsed - and their performances/attitude show this. Neither should be allowed anywhere near the first team. We need a new striker sometime soon to play alongside Lambert with Paterson the back-up.

Lallana? Don't believe the hype...
-
Yeah. Glad to see having them in Sunday for extra training paid-off then...
-
I hope Hammond has signed the damn contract and wasn't there tonite...

Very good signing - to go with the Lambert one. Kelvin is easily the best keeper in this league also. So that's just 8 more new faces required Mr Pardew... -
Without doubt the finest, truest & most spot-on post I've read on this forum for many, many months. Hat's-off to you St Marco. That is exactly how it is!
-
My sentiments exactly Griffo. Not since Marsden (especially the Marsden/Bridgey combo) have I seen Saints really play with any width to good avail - and how long ago was that? Surely a pacey winger is a "must" for any side - whilst two would be a dream! I'd settle for one right now who's an excellent crosser of the ball. I can't be the only one wishing for such luxuries either. There's a certain Mr Rickie Lambert (not to mention Rasiak) who'd like nothing better!

dicky - have you been on the sauce drowning your sorrows old chap?
-
I've personally counted all Saints current problems...and it is infact the 378th most important.
-
How about just one: "We're sh1t - and we know we are we're sh1t - and we know we are..."
-
He's probably on his mobile right now - begging forgiveness to stay at Colchester...or phoning his old gaffer up at Norwich & pleading to join the Norfolk payroll! Said in jest granted, but...
-
And that is a fundamental footballing tactic - is it not? - but a point sadly no one seems to instill into our rearguard.
-
Wes - that was spooky man!

It's not just one bad result though is it? Saturday seems to have slipped your mind already - and that was a shocking performance too. If it hadn't been for Kelvin - Huddersfield would have chalked-up double figures! It's not just the results either. I can handle getting beat IF the lads had a gameplan, a purpose, and put the effort in. But they're not. We seem scared sh1tless to have a go - to give someone a game. It's as if they've all met up an hour before kick-off for the very first time & never met before! I'm sure Pardew will get us into some sort of shape eventually - but the players are going to have to do their bit too - and right now - they don't appear to be doing so.
-
why oh why oh why oh why oh why do we keep getting done time & time & time again by set pieces? Until we learn to defend them - we're always gonna be on a hiding to nothing. Do we talk/discuss/learn to deal with defending set pieces over at Staplewood? Same old same old...

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1760114,00.html "There were some good performances this evening..." Yeah - but not by any of our players Mr Pardew!
-
I've never known a team so short of confidence. We've carried the mentality & mind-set over from last season. We are literally toothless - no bite or edge whatsoever. Would have loved to have seen changes made 10-15 minutes earlier than Pardew made them too. All in all - very very disappointing.
-
Yes - but it doesn't mention any possible call from Norwich which might hijack the deal - only that they're letting him go. Still don't think we should broadcast the interest until he's signed!
-
Well if that scenario does happen - we'll be left with more egg on our faces than in one of Delia's quiches!
