One of the reasons why many city centres are dying (outside of the UKs major hubs) is that they are not particularly car friendly, at best. All well and good having more and more 'pedestrian-ised zones', but not if all you have is Costa, Starbucks, mobile phone accessory shops and turkish barbers, to 'shop in' but makes certain people feel good though
