Not sure you've grasped the fact that breaking those rules carried financial penalties. The test for breaking the rules wasn't even particularly strong and could be applied arbitrarily by serving constables. Yet, no financial penalties were issued to Cummings which must imply that he did not break said rules. Not really advanced rocketry is it?
-
If you think so, that's up to you... Personally, I think that what he did was morally reprehensible - I even pointed this out at the time - but that he hadn't actually broken any rules. There is a stark difference between morals and rules, one that I'm not sure you've truly grasped...

I'm happy to rescind my earlier comment about Margaret breaking the fundamental rule about isolating whilst waiting for a test result to return, as it turns out that was not a law at the time she did it. Morally she should have followed the advice as everyone else should, but I guess morals don't apply with politicians!
-
Good news, Margaret gets off Scot free from the Met police : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-54546058 Not sure what the law states in Scotland, but if Poileas Alba also conclude she has no case to answer will the SNP re-instate her to the party? As for the argument about Cummings meeting people whilst his wife was ill, I guess that one is blown out of the water as well, as he can't possibly have broken a law in March that didn't come into effect until the end of September!!! I guess that just leaves the whole eyesight thing - which frankly isn't a CoVid issue at all, but one for the DVSA to look at - but I'm sure if he ever gets asked about it he can just brush it away and claim that the virus made him act out of character.

Jesus Wept, you really are thicker than a whale omelette. As I tried pointing out to you a few posts ago, those are not my words, they are Aintforever's words. I do like your argument though, that because she isn't in the Government then she is no more responsible for upholding the Government's message that you or I, or even Cummings who is also not in the Government
-
Well, which one? Your Pal Aintforever has so far ignored this question, will you tell us which rules he broke?
-
Not sure I agree as the rules were different for both. Cummings didn't break any rules - although I'm well aware that is just a 'technicality' - whilst Ferrier broke the fundamental rule by not isolating whilst waiting for her test result. More than that she went to places where it is reasonable to expect lots of other people to be, whilst knowing she may be contagious! I still think that those calling for her scalp are wrong as the rules state the penalty for breaking them to be a fine not loss of livelihood!
-
Which would be a truly wonderful point if she hadn't lied and undermined the Government's message!
-
Which part of you claiming she has not undermined the Government's message do you not understand?
-
It's pretty impressive how pitifully thick one human can be. Clue : those weren't my words, I was quoting someone else and have at no point in my entire life claimed she was part of the government.
-
My word you haven't got any brighter. What Aintforever said was "My point about her admitting it and apologising was that by doing so she didn’t undermine the government’s message as much as if she had lied and not apologised like Cummings." I've highlighted the relevant passage which defends her actions stating she hasn't undermined the government's message but feel free to shout if you're still a little confused. As I've previously stated, Aintforever has been all over the place with his postings and can't seem to decide whether he condones her actions or thinks she is somehow not as bad as someone who didn't actually break any rules. If you think a serving MP blatantly disregarding the rules around testing and isolating whilst infected with CoVid is irrelevant, I'd suggest this probably isn't the thread for you.
-
Pony. Aintforever has been defending her by saying she has apologised and therefore hasn't undermined the Government message as much as if she'd lied like Cummings. She has blatantly lied when she went on record to state she booked a test because she had a 'tickly throat'. Try booking a test with your only symptom being a 'tickly throat' and see how far you get! So she either lied in her interview or she lied in order to get a test booked. Either way her 'lies' have undermined the Government message just as much as Cummings.
-
Hhhmmm, so her reason for travelling back to Scotland was because she was scared she might have to self isolate in an hotel for two weeks! Oh, and now we find out that she went to church the day after her test before she went to London but she insists she didn't break any rules! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54496759 She also states that she had a test because she had a "tickly throat" - yeah right, like that one's believable - but even so, if you book a test you must self isolate whilst you wait for your results, the rules on this seem pretty clear, although she is claiming they are 'muddled' : https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/what-your-test-result-means/ Still, good job she apologised eh, as that means she hasn't undermined the Government's message

Oh look, my thick as pig shit stalker has arrived. I'm assuming that you've decided it's more expedient to join the debate with your pants round your ankles rather than pull them down with your posting later on. Many thanks for the link to a quote from an 'ex' Chief Constable. His 'opinion' on this matter is truly as worhless as yours! Can you find a link that disputes the FACT that Cummings was NOT charged for breaking the rules in place at the time or are you just going to continue linking to articles that have pointless opinions on them?
-
It's not me that thinks he did nothing wrong it was the police force that investigated him. All I've done is repeat the facts, not offer my opinion, surely even you can see that? I'm assuming you also agree with the outcome since you've not offered an answer to the question posed regarding which rules he broke...
-
Scottish PM? Since when? You're all over the place pal! You also said : "She doesn't think they were appropriate, she's admitted what she did was wrong and apologised. Unlike the scumbag at no10." but now you're saying it's worse than Cummings did! Not really sure what you wanted Cummings to do. In your own opinion his actions were not as bad as hers and indeed the police investigated and concluded he had broken no rules, yet you call him a 'scumbag' for not apologising for not breaking any rules, but seem to suggest that she is somehow better than Cummings because she has apologised! Seems an illogical argument.
-
Go on then, if you were in charge, what would she be in court for?
-
Lol, in court for what? The penalty for breaking the rules is a fine - as far as I'm aware, only disputed cases, repeat offenders or refusal to pay the fines end up in court.
-
What rules did the 'scumbag at no10' break again?
-
Phew, that's alright then, crack on folks and break those rules, just make sure you apologise afterwards!
-
He managed to squeeze him in twice in his opening post on this thread - maybe he's making up for the ones that he's missed
-
To be fair that is exactly what soggy was trying to elicit with his first post and his 'Muslim' comparison.
-
And that's just the ones that have been caught
-
Obviously very little is being done about it, with the exception of the convictions that have happened If only we knew someone who used to work for the CPS who could have had more influence on this.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_sexual_abuse_cases_by_country

How do you know it isn't already going on with them being better at covering it up. You should show some outrage just in case.
