We DO live in a country where white people were historically used as slaves and suffered centuries of oppression. Does that mean that statements like WLM and white power have a different meaning? -

Uh-oh. Could be terror related, could just be a complete nutter. No doubt the police will cop some flack for killing the suspect though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-53093384 -

The way I read it, a section 14 only applies to 'organised' gatherings, so there would be nothing to stop people from turning up 'ad-hoc' and counter protesting. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1986/64/section/14#:~:text=he may give directions imposing,to prevent such disorder%2C damage%2C Would certainly be a dilemma for the police if that happened and interesting to see how they would police that - potentially could make matters worse if they are heavy handed with one group but not another.... -
You're right. Very easy to social distance on a beach, the same as a field, forest, lake, countryside. I guess what they're most worried about are the choke points - car parks, paths to beaches, takeaways, toilets etc where it's not so easy to socially distance. Watching the news yesterday, I believe their MI team were stopping more people from entering the town, closing roads and dishing out lots of parking fines

There seems to be a pattern emerging. Is there still a restriction of no more than 6 people in a gathering? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-53188547 -

Did he use the word 'could'? If so, then the National Lottery should also be accused of lying -

I'll wager that 95% of those on the beach in Bournemouth yesterday and today wouldn't have the faintest idea who Cummings is....

Still, as long as we can go to Marbs eh, that's all that matters right now...

Again, depends how long he has been employed. Less than 2 years the company can do what they want. Who knows, he may have been due to work when he was pissing around with planes. There are a number of reasons a company can use to 'get rid' of someone and they only have to do it properly if the employee has over 2 years service. -

Ssshhhh! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53165938 Not sure I agree with the sentiment here that 'white' criminals are free to roam their respective cities in possession of illegal drugs. There seem to be a number of allegations against the police which will presumably be investigated thoroughly and lead to the appropriate actions being taken... -

Your original quote was people not knowing the origin. The ancient Greeks did not invent a racist saying. Even the article you linked to does not state that it is a racist slogan - it finishes by suggesting that some people may take offence and even defines the proverb as 'innocuous'. Not exactly conclusive proof of racism. -

His employer can claim he is 'bringing the company into disrepute' - however, I suspect a tribunal would look dimly on that (if he is illegible to start procedings) as the police have decided not to prosecute. They would need to put forward a strong argument for 'morality'. I suspect they made the decision in haste before the police decided not to prosecute. Still, if he has less than 2 year's service it won't matter a jot!
