You haven't answered the question, but let's run with it. It seems that what you're saying is that apart from restaurants, pretty much everywhere else is safe to visit? It's therefore incredibly confusing to work out why the 'home' / 'family residence' is where the majority of infections occur. You know, the place where most people spend a lot of time in close proximity to one another. Surely that should be the place where least infections occur given that anyone who leaves the house is going to a 'safe' place and is not likely to catch the virus in the first place in order to spread it around when they get home? Is that how it works?

Not sure what your point is. Harries was asked during one of the press conferences (Friday?) by the press, where do most infections happen. Clearly they were expecting her to answer with hospital, bus, train etc, but she was quite clear when she stated in the 'family unit at home'.

Since it has been clear from the start that only those sick, in hospital, with appropriate symptoms were being tested, it is impossible to say whether those people have died 'with' covid-19. Is it not generally accepted that deaths above and beyond the five year rolling average are generally assumed to be covid related? Surely there's an argument to include suicides and acute stress related deaths (likely to be a statistically small number), as they potentially wouldn't have happened had it not been for the virus?

Exactly this. There's a good chance the rest of this year and next year 'may' see a decrease against the rolling five year average as the most vulnerable have already succombed. As I said many pages back, time will tell. Who knows, we may still even see the 'worst case' / 'do nothing' scenario of 250,000 excess deaths for the year, especially if we hit 'peak mark 2'.

Lol. So, we should lock everyone up until there is a vaccine? That's the only way to stop infections. The actions taken so far have been to slow the spread, not stop it. Not once has anyone stood at a podium and claimed they were going to stop the spread. You appear to be under a lot of impressions that are wrong, or you really, really haven't been paying attention for the last 6 weeks.

For someone who really, really doesn't like Tommy Robinson, you sure do spend a lot of time reading what he has written and watching videos of him! I don't like marmite, I can quite happily walk past it in the supermarket and pretend it's not even there. I'd wager if you disliked marmite as much as you dislike Tommy Robinson, judging by your postings on here, you'd be likely to take the lid off every single pot in the marmite aisle of the supermaket and take a good lick of each and every pot, just to remind yourself how much you didn't like it and how annoyed you get by it!

How, exactly are you attributing the cost of many many lives to the Prime Minister? I was under the impression that 'additional' lives would be lost when the NHS was overwhelmed, not when it is underwhelmed....

No, it's not a lockdown. The Government have never declared it to be a 'lockdown'. All along they have stated you should only travel for work if you cannot work from home. That's very different from telling everyone to stop travelling and stay home.

Don't worry about me, I'm happy to accept the risk (as I have been since this all started) and still travel for work pretty much every day. Probably already had it but not suffered any symptoms. I even shook someone's hand yesterday, living life on the edge, right?
