Glad to see Toby Steele will be staying for the foreseeable future so that he can ensure a seamless transitions for fans of teams in the Championship to enjoy their days out at St Mary's next season. I expect him to close further parts of the stadium after Sunday's game as our fans should take the blame for selling their seats back to the club and these tickets then ending up in the hands of Liverpool fans.

with fans chanting "One more year" and being 'heartbroken' by the thought of JWP leaving, why would he even consider leaving? Not my words, but the words of SaintRob, and I for one agree with him
-
With Russell Martin about to be appointed it made me think of other players or managers we've had where their surname could also be a first name; Ian Andrew Michail Antonio Stern John Lee Barnard Mick Channon Honourable mentions Shane Bradley Charlie Austin Lloyd James

As soon as I got the ticket exchange email I listed my ticket, so I fully expect a Liverpool fan to be sat in my seat Sunday. Will be enjoying the bank holiday weekend without another depressing afternoon at St Mary's

Russell Watkinson for me. The contribution he made in the 96/97 season should never be overlooked, before leaving the club to have a successful career. Add him to the "ones that got away" list.

Saint Rob on twitter has told the Swansea fans that we're a bigger club than them, and I for one believe him.

Will we have a better transfer window than 2005?

I recall him being booed and called a skate on his debut for us. -
Southampton are set to hire Aberdeen’s Darren Mowbray as their new head of recruitment. The club have been talking to candidates over the vacancy over the last few months and have landed on former Burnley man Mowbray. Mowbray, who has been at the Scottish club since the summer of 2021, has also held senior roles at Leeds United and Middlesbrough. Mowbray will replace Joe Shields, who left the club for Chelsea in October. Jason Wilcox, who will join officially from Manchester City in the coming weeks, will oversee the football department and work above the manager. Sport Republic co-founder Rasmus Ankersen led recruitment in January with the club opting to wait for the right candidate this summer. Southampton will play next season in the Championship after their relegation was confirmed last weekend. They complete their Premier League season with games against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday and next weekend against Liverpool.

Last time we were relegated we signed the following players for a total of £90,000 in the summer. Dennis Wise - Free Djamel Belmadi -Free Darren Powell - Free Ricardo Fuller - £90,000 Tomasz Haijto - Free Kamil Kosowski - Loan Do you trust the new owners to have a better window than this?

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
Paul Chuckle replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Will never happen but if they priced season tickets at around £350 for anywhere in the stadium they'd get a lot of renewals and new season ticket holders. If they remain at £530 on average, then I think the club are going to be in for a shock when Season tickets sale only hit about 10'000. -

Osvaldo's goal against Man City was a bit special. The atmosphere that day was one of the best at St Mary's, seemed genuinely intimidating for the away team. -
End of season awards night and lap of appreciation

80 minutes? Don't think I've made it to 70 minutes the last few home games. Luckily I've managed to resell my ticket to the club. Probably the only benefit I've had as a season ticket holder over the last 25 years! -

Paul Chuckle replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Like others I feel massively detached. I've considered an Eastleigh season ticket as well this coming season after having a Southampton one since 1996. Ill eagerly await who they appoint as manager before making a decision alongside the price. £530 for 2 wins has been no value for money -
I remember Glenn De La Caur on Total Saints Podcast calling for him to be given the job until the end of the season when Jones was there. He seems to never mention that anymore
-
Bit of a wild one, but how about James Milner as player manager?
-
Kenneth Paul Dulieu for me
-
And I thought the Saints feed on twitter 10 years ago was bad enough. Might be unpopular opinion and I'd die on a hill for saying this but bring back Connor Armstrong to the Saintsfc twitter stream
-
I'm sure the club will come out with equally competitive prices after consultation with the Saints Voicers, such as; We've frozen the prices but you're getting 4 extra games Guarantee your seats to the playoffs and Wembley Save 5% off at the club shop You'll receive a free pin badge within a cutting edge designed presentation box made from recycled bottles Sell back your seat to any game that's a sell out

Always thought certain elements of our fanbase were the thickest in football, and that's been confirmed further today with the suggestion of James Milner as player manager 😂😂😂

Why are we buying Ashley Barnes? He's out of contract. Matthew LeGod mode deactivated
-
Exactly this. We need players who know how to get out of this league. And we desperately need leaders in that dressing room.
-
Ashley Barnes has been told by Burnley his contract won't be renewed. Type of player we should be looking at to add to the squad for next season. 3 Championship promotions, and played 30+ games for Burnley last season. Plus it will stop his inevitable goals against us next season. I'd imagine Rasmus spreadsheet will show some stat that means he's not good enough and we'll sign another Tall Paul type instead.

Jose Fonte to return next season (Twitter Rumour)
Paul Chuckle replied to Esher Saint's topic in The Saints
Our fans love giving an ex player a job for life. We don't owe Jose Fonte a salary or his first managerial job. He'd be welcome back anytime to wave on the pitch and will always get a heroes welcome, but leave it as that. This reminds me of the time someone suggested we appoint Tim Flowers and Rickie Lambert as a managerial duo on twitter
