  1. Russell Watkinson for me. The contribution he made in the 96/97 season should never be overlooked, before leaving the club to have a successful career. Add him to the "ones that got away" list.
  2. Saint Rob on twitter has told the Swansea fans that we're a bigger club than them, and I for one believe him.
  3. I recall him being booed and called a skate on his debut for us.
  4. Southampton are set to hire Aberdeen’s Darren Mowbray as their new head of recruitment. The club have been talking to candidates over the vacancy over the last few months and have landed on former Burnley man Mowbray. Mowbray, who has been at the Scottish club since the summer of 2021, has also held senior roles at Leeds United and Middlesbrough. Mowbray will replace Joe Shields, who left the club for Chelsea in October. Jason Wilcox, who will join officially from Manchester City in the coming weeks, will oversee the football department and work above the manager. Sport Republic co-founder Rasmus Ankersen led recruitment in January with the club opting to wait for the right candidate this summer. Southampton will play next season in the Championship after their relegation was confirmed last weekend. They complete their Premier League season with games against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday and next weekend against Liverpool.
  5. Last time we were relegated we signed the following players for a total of £90,000 in the summer. Dennis Wise - Free Djamel Belmadi -Free Darren Powell - Free Ricardo Fuller - £90,000 Tomasz Haijto - Free Kamil Kosowski - Loan Do you trust the new owners to have a better window than this?
  6. Will never happen but if they priced season tickets at around £350 for anywhere in the stadium they'd get a lot of renewals and new season ticket holders. If they remain at £530 on average, then I think the club are going to be in for a shock when Season tickets sale only hit about 10'000.
  7. Fans waving white hankies at Nicola Cortese at the Everton home game following Adkins sacking
  8. Osvaldo's goal against Man City was a bit special. The atmosphere that day was one of the best at St Mary's, seemed genuinely intimidating for the away team.
  9. 80 minutes? Don't think I've made it to 70 minutes the last few home games. Luckily I've managed to resell my ticket to the club. Probably the only benefit I've had as a season ticket holder over the last 25 years!
  10. Like others I feel massively detached. I've considered an Eastleigh season ticket as well this coming season after having a Southampton one since 1996. Ill eagerly await who they appoint as manager before making a decision alongside the price. £530 for 2 wins has been no value for money
  11. I remember Glenn De La Caur on Total Saints Podcast calling for him to be given the job until the end of the season when Jones was there. He seems to never mention that anymore
  12. Bit of a wild one, but how about James Milner as player manager?
  13. Kenneth Paul Dulieu for me
  14. And I thought the Saints feed on twitter 10 years ago was bad enough. Might be unpopular opinion and I'd die on a hill for saying this but bring back Connor Armstrong to the Saintsfc twitter stream
  15. I'm sure the club will come out with equally competitive prices after consultation with the Saints Voicers, such as; We've frozen the prices but you're getting 4 extra games Guarantee your seats to the playoffs and Wembley Save 5% off at the club shop You'll receive a free pin badge within a cutting edge designed presentation box made from recycled bottles Sell back your seat to any game that's a sell out
  16. Always thought certain elements of our fanbase were the thickest in football, and that's been confirmed further today with the suggestion of James Milner as player manager 😂😂😂
  17. Why are we buying Ashley Barnes? He's out of contract. Matthew LeGod mode deactivated
  18. Exactly this. We need players who know how to get out of this league. And we desperately need leaders in that dressing room.
  19. Ashley Barnes has been told by Burnley his contract won't be renewed. Type of player we should be looking at to add to the squad for next season. 3 Championship promotions, and played 30+ games for Burnley last season. Plus it will stop his inevitable goals against us next season. I'd imagine Rasmus spreadsheet will show some stat that means he's not good enough and we'll sign another Tall Paul type instead.
  20. Our fans love giving an ex player a job for life. We don't owe Jose Fonte a salary or his first managerial job. He'd be welcome back anytime to wave on the pitch and will always get a heroes welcome, but leave it as that. This reminds me of the time someone suggested we appoint Tim Flowers and Rickie Lambert as a managerial duo on twitter
  21. It's almost as if our fans haven't realised that inexperienced managers like Selles don't work! Sometimes I wonder if I live in a different dimension to some of them. These are the same fans who probably wanted Jason Dodd given the managers job in 2007
  22. Allowing away fans into the home end of the stadium. Laser light shows. Ground breaking half time entertainment such as kicking a ball from a cone at the goal, or trying to hit the cross bar. An excellent security team who keep us safe by banning bottle tops from entering the stadium. The OWTS funeral march pre match Trusts - we are excellent at this. Just look at the Saints and Ted Bates Trusts. Prime examples of what fan led trusts can achieve if everyone pulls together in the same direction. Fans who ask ground breaking questions when sat Infront of the club CEO such as "when will JWP get a testimonial" And of course the Saints Voice. I could go on. But you must be mad if you think this club doesn't do anything well after reading that list!
  23. Saints Voice Representative of the season Most away fans in the home end of the season Favourite away fan item allowed into the stadium
  24. Maybe we could subject them to the half time entertainment
