I don't think it's so much that they are raising their game, as Selles' tactics are set up to exploit teams like Liverpool. Had Selles set us up differently, perhaps playing more direct deeper balls into Big Paul for example, pushing play back, we would have been able to put more pressure onto the teams round the bottom. Setting ourselves up the same way each week, just isn;t going to work,. And it hasn't.

Lyanoc might not have the most talent, but he's been getting about the Liverpool players tidily for a while now.

Alcaraz has lots of energy and is willing to get involved in various positions. But, being young, gave it away riunning across in front of the back line. A minute later he's up top. 🙂

He's on a long contract, so it will have to be some offer.

Looking forward to an inspiring Selles teamtalk. It's the last half they will have as a group. And those departing and those staying can use this second half as a sign of things to come for all their careers.

More attacking teams like Liverpool, (who also bring with a number of personnel who can give the odd error), play into the central, quick running of SellesBall. It's him not having a tactic that works against all the other types of tactics in the league, that has resulted in him departing after the final whistle.
