  1. Like the rest of you, we'll sacrifice one of the local tourists we caught in the summer on the stone altar, so that our local forest deity will throw her light into the sky to begin to regrow our world. Reads up... ... hang on... is it just us... πŸ™‚
  2. I was just imagining Ralph telling some of the personalities in Lawrie's teams all about Automatisms πŸ™‚
  3. Madness to expect to keep 2 players happy in a squad game, where they'd both get lots of minutes, with 5 subs allowed, on Premiership wages. I'll be wanting a striker next. I don't know how all those other clubs seem to manage it. πŸ™‚
  4. It would be unrealistic, and possibly counterproductive to expect Lavia to start every game. Then there are the games, where you'd want an able replacement to bring off the bench. Not just for Lavia either. Then there are the games when you'd want the option of a three in there, with a combination of the strengths of both. It was always clear that Diallo wouldn't work in there. Nor does JWP. A number have been clear that it's not AMN either.
  5. I remember something hinted last season, when he was in good form, that he may be looking at new pastures in the near future. I took that to mean that negotiations on a new contract had either broken down, or he was using the statement to push for a better deal. For me, all the wanting to go home stuff came after no new deal came about. With Lavia such a good prospect I think the club were more than willing to accept offers for Romeu, as they were a number of players as they sought to reduce the wage bill. I got the feeling Lavia wasn't signed to sit on the bench. That might have been made clear to Romeu as a way of incentive to leave. Lavia started really well. But negligent to not have back up. I don't think the club tried to have both in the squad together. As for his legs having gone, most of the squad should have been moved on then. They nearly all looked like they were shot during that run in. Romeu at least had an excuse as he expended loads of energy in that position. Another reason why proper cover should have considered this season. A naΓ―ve move from the club, focussing too much on their master plan and not enough on what the impact would really be.
  6. I had no idea the cost of glossy supplements could derail the economy. 48 pages doesn't seem that much. πŸ™‚
  7. I don't recall saying I agreed with anything she said. Bit early to be pressing the big red H for Hitler button. πŸ™‚
  8. β€œWe are Southampton, a club build on faith from the very beginning. A faith in ourselves. A faith in each other. And with enough faith, we can perform miracles. And it will take a miracle to gaet a couple of goals any time soon..." πŸ™‚
  9. Worrying. So, I checked with all of my underlings and none of them thought I was arrogant. πŸ™‚
  10. An end of a second era for him. Still, it would have been too much to expect him to keep going with it. Especially when he rejoins us as a free agent. We can just put the racing on the screen, in between VAR decisions for him. πŸ™‚
  11. What came across, was that costing at a future date was their only policy. It had crossed my mind that they simply hadn't the chance to reassess their plans following the Truss' Clough Tribute Act. But none of the interviewees provided details of their previous policies, even the ones in August. Nor did they provide alternatives to what had just happened. It felt like trying to win votes, by not being held to account for anything. It's pretty weak, and they held the costing line when point blank asked for examples of any eonomic policy they might have. Opportunities missed to show they were reactive and clear, even in the face of uncertainty. Opportunities missed to show they had a clue. All on the Beeb, at various points during the day, but mainly early morning ones, for what it's worth.
  12. "As the first carbon neutral Team, Forest Green are miles greener than us," said Ralph. "We have identified vertical, attacking passing as using a lot of energy. This is why we have adopted short, sideways passing across the midfield. Only then can we aspire to be like them." πŸ™‚
  13. I watched them score 5 goals the week before. Although it was against 10, their attacking tactic down the flank was directly related to that red card. Do "attacking" "tactic" and "goals" sound like anyone who would fit in here? πŸ™‚
  14. I'd have thought seizing adults at risk and children is the last thing you'd want to be doing. I guess my forward brand verticals aren't in synergy with theirs. πŸ™‚
  15. Only thrashed 8-0 though. Nearly our level of capitulation, but can she make that step up (or is it down)? πŸ™‚
  16. Recent interviews I've heard repeat that their policies will be fully costed. There's no indication of what the policies might be, but whenever they have to decide, that will seemingly be the priority. I get the feeling it must cost them a too much to have a dynamic range of ideas that they can balance as they go. Instead, they'd rather give no details at all, so they don't promise anything they can't deliver.
  17. I just caught part of Braverman's response where she went through some points, highlighted inaccuracies and told them to get their facts right. She came across as calm and sure of herself, figures against lots of jeering. The speaker had to point out that she knew who the naughty Labour children were, and it would be a while before they'd be getting to ask a question. She was answering specific questions on immigration, so after the Cooper bit perhaps.
  18. From a flyer through my door earlier... Owen Jones (non woman / never women) and Dianne Abbott (useless / mess) invite you from bended knee, to join them in their anti nuclear conference this weekend, in Jerusalem. Entry at 5pm, to allow everyone to be safe inside by 8pm. Some parties just can't help themselves, even if it destroys their chances. πŸ™‚
  19. We had a lot of rain here, which might have put them off. Or it was the mine field. One of the two.
