We got the ball wide a couple of mins back. Most teams would have people get into the box as it was crying out for a cross. We have Arma in there, the least likely to win a header. I can only hope Stweart offers us something, anything from that sort of position. We offer no physical threat.

Corner... Alcaraz working hard.
-
Nearly another for Hull. Again. Meanwhile ...after another Hull attack. Baz looks up...doesn;t see anything...waits...waits... our 4 defenders move up...and then he lumps it long anyway. It was accurate, but allowed them to get back into positions so any chance we ahd form it came to nothing.
-
It was nearly... little handshake between Alcaraz and their keeper.
-
Smallbone with two attemtps to pass it forward. Immediately chose the safe backward option. FIne, if that's all that was on. But he was in a lot of space, didn;t think about moving into the space to draw anyone out. Just safe and back.

Arma with a shot form exactly the same spot as Stu a minute or two back. If our passing allows them to set up their defence, and then we don;t bother trying to pass through it, but just shoot then it's not working. Hull getting all the space in the world behind where fullbacks normally are. 30 secs later...exactly the same... cut back across this time gfor a corner. same old, same old. frustrating.

Stu's touch just a bit heavy runnign onto that in the middle... Hull sort of on the break. We have improved in that respsect. We now have as many back as they have forward, which is an improvement of 1 person running back to cover every attacker. But Hull's direct running into space looks for likely than our hitting form outside the box against a set defence. That's somethign that hasn;t changed, sadly.

Stu trying to take on 3 there... he should know better... always have that moment when there's a chance of a break agianst us... but I'm sure Russ has it sorted >gulp<

"Southampton look to try and break..." sideways pass...backwards pass... go us!

It's only a couple of minutes, but roof maintenance has never been so interesting with Patrick Stewart doing a short reading on the subject. In closing... It needs repaired. Make it so, number one.

A win for us. The international break results in us forgetting Martin's passball. Panicking, we play a few quick passes forward to Armstrong and find ourselves 2 nil up. Martin's half time talk about posession at any cost hampers us, but we manage not to concede. The defence look confused at the final whistle, unsure of how to react to another clean sheet.

When he goes for 30 million, we'll be sorry. Mainly as we'll be in the national conference by then. 🙂 If anything, the arrival of Wilcox, and another Man City link, has solidified Baz's place with the club. He's seen as key to our philosophy of having a goalkeeper who is very comfortable at the back, and who plays a key role in maintaining our possession game, with his distribution. When he was still getting a game last season, I was wondering if we had to play him, as we had an agreement with City to develop a goalkeeper that suited what they wanted, without having to go through the pain as we have. Oddly, just as his distribution was looking even better, Martin changed it a bit. Since I've not seen too much about his positioning against Rotherham, he's not done badly of late. Noted that those couple of games haven't had many shots on his weaker side. -
When Mozambique went down to 10 in the first half, his teammates gave him curious looks when he shouted "keep passing it!" and "keep that possession!" 🙂

Was Che Adams playing for a transfer?

In the summer before last, it seemed that it was the club that thought they were getting in such cracking attacking players, that they could afford to let him go. I'm sure the club went out of their way to make him feel wanted at the time, feeling the need to shift him on to free up the wages and the squad space. That didn;t happen and he was left to lead the line in a succession of tactics that didn't suit him (or anyone else for that matter). -
