  1. This. CoT allow us to know of the activity. The hints are there, but deniable as there's no comments made. They are abstract enough to protect sources. There's also a bit of common sense to be used. The CoT are excellent at making the clues hard. However, some of us have fun with the clues putting up comedy answers. Behind that are the DM's where we try and figure it out. A more obvious set of clues could defeat the purpose. If everyone correctly guessed 2 mins after the clue went up, the CoT may have to reconsider how obvious they were and look to further protect sources. I'd like to think that, to help the CoT, we'd let them know and not blab too much, should that ever arise. The balance has been as good as the CoT success rate. I know I enjoy the effort put into it, and the information we get.
  2. Sending our best wishes for your granddaughter and your family in supporting her, Whitey. So glad the support she's receiving has improved. For any and all issues I might have developed, looking back I'm very grateful to have had the foundations of decent childhood diet, exercise and having to interact with others. Even then, I'd get money to get some sweets for school. That was definitely not the best, and has had some impact. Thankfully, that was it as far as sweets or fizzy drinks went. Everything else was bought from proper butchers, grocers or bakers. I dread to think what I'd have been like with more additives and sugar in my system. Likewise, my folks made sure we interacted with other kids. Later on, we had moved to a more isolated spot, where that was more difficult. I'm sure as they ushered us out the door, most kids didn't see the happy smiles of relief on parents' faces. Peace for a few hours, knowing we were all safe together. But all that exercise, fresh air, dealing with lots of other kids socially gives so many skills, not least tolerance, friendship, conflict resolution and resilience. Hang on... the jumpers Whitey's using for goalposts are definitely closer together than mine....
  3. Sadly, it looks as though we'll have to depend on the cup, to get into Europe next season.
  4. Which also answers Whitey's earlier question.
  5. The manure on the farm a better quality than what's on the pitch? Undercover CoT mission? Hope everything's okay, whatever the reason.
  6. My local Asda is on my way home, so I use it way more than the others. It's really well run, and they always get a little round of applause from me for all their work through Covid. A good mix of staff ages and always enough people on tills or overseeing the self service. My fav for customer service. Now for the fascinating story of me getting free sandwiches, when they wouldn't scan...
  7. Thanks for the summary posts. Always welcome. Quick Simon Charlton mention as Frannie's competition.
  8. As immortalised by Saints club band, Blondie, in the late '70s Denis, Denis, our left back of the year Denis, Denis, filling wingers full of fear Denis, Denis, we always want you near
  9. Mark Hughes Sorry. Still have scar tissue 🙂
  10. Surely small, not picky elements of a keepers game, and nothing that should hold up a move. 🙂 I'm pleased he's recovered so quickly. A loan move would be ideal to get sharp ess back and develop. But like you say GL...where?
  11. Martin could save us some pennies, by taking on another role. Baz, Will and Jack would be good additions for him at whatever club he ends up at. Manning too.
  12. I recall reading that Dibling was frustrated not to get minutes in the Championship. Now he's shown strengths in the PL, I agree that there's little point in him going back there. He can now develop his all round game against better opponents. There was a time when SR were wanting to get the next RB target, develop them, and sell them on for a large profit. Selling low to RB doesn't fit this really, and I'd think they'd want to sell for a higher price. Nothing wrong on a personal development view to him going to RB though. He'll learn a lot.
  13. This. @gio1saints mentioning it could get even worse without him gave me pause. Worse? How can it get worse? But it could. 🙂
  14. Although the post, like so many others you struggle with, had enough clarity for the purposes of a football forum, why not simply ask for a clarification if you had failed to understand it? That enables discussion and makes you look a lot less ignorant. Far be it for me to mention another MLG bad habit, but... Bad Habit #3: Get caught out. But rather than adjust behaviour, pretend you are never wrong by grasping any straw and try to dig a big hole with it.
  15. That will be why Gio went on to call Les "physically dominant strong" later in his post then. Bad habit #220: Reading posts for gotcha moments. Bad Habit #221: Failing to read the rest of the post after thinking there's a gotcha moment, and making a clown of yourself. It's also not great for anyone on the forum just wanting to post an opinion, only to remember there's every chance it will be followed by the likes of the above.
  16. Protected. I can put up a cryptic picture though.
  17. Forums seem strangely hostile to people with information to share, who also want to protect sources/ sensitive data.
  18. I read some posts about links. They looked to be in a language I understood. I thought I could read the words. I have no idea what that was about. 🙂
  19. "goals and assists" If he's not going to do even the most basic research into the club he's joining... 🙂
  20. I'd quite enjoy myself being away from us too Sadly, we don't get the choice. 🙂
  21. Cats treat all humans with contempt. Those providing food, rubs, warmth and games are still treated with the same level of contempt, but are allowed to act as distractions for a couple of minutes.
  22. Tsk. You think of yourself as a fairly strong minded, objective person not prone to bandwagon jumping. One cat pic and suddenly you're at the army recruitment office insisting there is a Kitler army, and you must be allowed to join. >sigh<
  23. 2nd prize in the raffle is 2 DM chats with SOG. 🙂 Apologies to SOG for cheap shot. Did Bowie not actually fall into such thinking for a while, based he said on what he was reading?
  24. Oh heck. I was on a call to my doctor this morning, and heart rate was discussed, while pointing out the pigeons on the back wall to my feline overlord. I've spoken to 2 neighbours since, and didn't pick up on any hostility. But I'm now concerned about them misconstruing what I was doing. Anything from Nazi salute, fascist salute to imitating Musk.
  25. I was thinking the same about Biden. 🙂 Even with the debate gaffes and everything else. It still takes a huge amount of energy to even be on such a punishing campaign schedule at that age.
