Yes, because Jones isn’t known for playing a back 5 is he. Absolutely never plays it….
-
Moi playing noticeably higher as well…. Almost like we said, he was playing as a WB first half
-
Great start, let’s stick it to them now
-
What a pointless comment. Unless you’re sat on the bench, no one knows what he’s been instructed to do.
-
You’re missing the point, from 15/20 mins in he hasn’t been playing as part of the 3. I’m sure a heat map, if anyone can obtain one, would show that.
-
He’s man marking Mykalenko who’s playing really high. agree to disagree, but I think We can probably all agree that we need to get our wingers higher up the pitch this half. As it happens I would bring him off for the Croatian lad, but I’d also hook Edozie and Adams whilst I’m at it
-
Agreed. Pretty even half where a mistake seem to cost us, as usual. We could, maybe should, be ahead based on the chances. Pickford been the busier of the 2 keepers.
-
Correct, but half way through the first half it changed. Coincidently our best chance came from when Moi was playing higher, with a deflected shot which on another day lands on Adams head. Blame Moi as much as you want, something has changed, he’s now playing a hybrid wing back role (not very well granted, but that’s not his position), but this is on the manager.
-
Moi being played out of position, this is more of a back 5 than 433, hes that deep. anyone watching could easily tell that.
-
He’s fucking shite, always has been. We’re a much better team when he’s not playing.
-
It’s bullshit, he’s not lazy and he clearly sprints, he wouldn’t be a premier league player if that was the case. He’s slow, but he’s not lazy. he’s a easy scapegoat, it’s boring.
-
Blame Moi all you want, but who the fuck is telling a winger to mark the biggest player on the pitch? Why is no one on the pitch sorting it out. Pathetic in game management
-
I’m not debating his ability. Just telling you why he’s playing, which is to cover Lyanco / tuck in at RWB without the ball.
-
It’s not whatever I say, watch the game. Moi is playing a lot deeper, almost as a wing back most of the time.
-
It’s not lazy. Moi is playing RW to double up and help Lyanco. Edozie and Adams aren’t lazy.
-
He doesn’t. He doesn’t make that run across the defender. Adams hold up play is great, but he’s not a natural striker / goal scorer. On the subject of his hold up play, I think he slows us down. We need pace on the counter attack. I’m not sure using him as a focal point gives us that. Without him last night, we used the wingers in behind a lot more.
-
The same team as last night, but I’d like to see the new Croatian lad instead of Djenepo. Not expecting a win, we never do at their place, but a Nobel performance will do enough to please me.
-
Again, fair play to Jones. In a world where generally speaking we get the same waffley shit from managers and players, it’s nice to see a bit of bite back. Gets my approval 👍

Makes us tick. A world Beater in the making. No surprise we’ve improved upon his return to fitness.
-
That twat is so far up Ralph and Semmens arse, it’s absolutely pointless listening to him anymore. Such a one sided, biased opinion. He’s clearly not a fan of SR, because they’re pushing his mate Semmens out
-
Yep, something has gone on, but it has to be said, the squad do seem to genuinely be happy for him when we win. It doesn’t strike me as that he’s lost / never had the dressing room. Whatever happened, credit where it’s due, it’s a sign of a good manager to admit mistakes and be willing to learn / change. We’ll Likely go down under Jones, but if we play like tonight there’s potential there.
-
Not strange at all. He’s right.
-
Agreed. To be honest, I think the way our fan base has acted towards Jones is a disgrace. the football has been appalling, regardless of what he says, but it’s shameful the way he’s been boo’d, personally insulted and had songs sung about him. Fair play to him for getting a dig back tonight. I still think he’s out of his depth, but we’ve got him, so we need to back him (providing we continue to try and play as we did today).
-
Quick shout out to Diallo who I thought was also brilliant tonight.
-
Lyanco for me, but could have been any of the back 4 or midfield 3. Honourable shout out to AA and Djenepo who worked their socks off.
