    Ruben Selles

So we had the media guff telling us how the ruthlessly honest Selles had told players “they won’t play for him again this season”… well who the fuck has he told, because Lyanco, Armstrong, Mara, Aribo, Djenepo etc just played tonight and they’d be first on my list.
  2. Djenepo is a fucking terrible footballer. I’m convinced he’s pulled some Ali Dia type scam for us to have brought him.

    Elyounoussi

That’s kinda how I saw it. All be it worse defensively so somehow actually less valuable.

At least the players like him, aye… Been quiet but selles, but always struck me as a massive overreaction to beating a very poor Chelsea side. Pretty much sums us up at the minute, trying to be alternative and smart, patting ourselves on the back for mediocrity. Not seen anything from selles as a coach or manager to suggest he’ll make it, but hey ho, I’m sure Ankersen knows better…
  5. Please can someone answer me this… Were a team who’s bottom Of the league, on a drought of goals and confidence is rock bottom. We play a team from L2 (a chance to get a few goals and a big win) for a chance to gain a spot in the 1/4’s of the FA cup, and we make 9/10 changes and play a load of reserve shite. It doesn’t make sense. It really doesn’t. I’m not sure how many more chances they are going to get but, Djenepo, Lyanco, Armstrong and co have proven they’re not good enough for our team. Why waste time giving them game time. Ridiculous team selection.
  6. I don’t see it, he doesn’t do anything well. Physically seems a little small. Maybe he needs game time, but it certainly isn’t at a PL club. I’m not sure he’s right for a championship team either.
  7. Forster is significantly better than Bazunu 😂 Bazunu is a terrible keeper, think Angus Gunn / Gazzingina, but arguably worse. He’s easily the worst keeper in the league and that’s including no2’s. He literally doesn’t save a thing.

Semmens isn’t innocent. He kept Ralph 18 months longer than he should have. We had Howe in the palm of our hands.

Yep, that was pretty clear imo. Hence why the continuous questions about when is he going to be sacked/why is he here etc. we’re really bloody tedious. To be fair, after his outburst (rightly or wrongly) saying he’s doing it his way.. he kinda deserves one more game to see if it’s all talk.

Ironically, one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen at St Mary’s for a long time, was when we were 9-0 down and all the fickle pricks had fucked off. The role of the fans is to get behind to team when the going gets tough. Backs against the walls 1-0 up or 2-0 down. On that front, we’re just as shit as the 11 players that are put out. The whole club is toxic at the minute and the fans are just as much to blame.

I’d say it’s clear. It’s clearly a load of bollox. It’s easy to say that the assistant (who was also assistant under the turgid football of Ralph), picked the team for our only decent performance. Im not sure that Selles has done to be seen as such a great figure by our fan base.

He’s not going to turn round and say “yeah he’s shit. There was a scrap at the training ground and We’re going down under him” is he. It was a politician’s answer. At no point was he committal to Jones, reading between the lines I think I got the impression that they know his time is up. The continuous “we want jones to go so why aren’t you sacking him” from the audience was tedious, to be honest.

Fuck me, what I’d do to have that side back. The only debatable position are Yoahida for a fit ABK, DCC or Salisu (all stronger imo) KWP at LB. the rest significantly better

The thing I’ve come to learn is these spreadsheet stat nerds really don’t like to admit they’re wrong. We had our own on here who, to the bitter end, wouldn’t admit that his ‘observation’ or Broja was incredibly wrong. Finding fault in the smallest of things to try and back up his point. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rasmus was the Same. After all, this failure really does put a dent in his stats first philosophy.

Pilchards seems to be a genuine ITK. Called Jones way before anyone else. Would suggest whatever happened, genuinely something did.

Would usually agree, but not in this case. There is simply no positive to Jones staying. we’ve no chance of a result and everyone hates him. he has to go, now.

    Jones’ English isn’t much better.
  19. I think player for player, we have a similar set up / type of player to Wolves under him. I think the 343 he implemented there could work well for us. Providing he can coach and implement a back 3, which both Jones and Ralph have failed at. He also made Matt Doherty look like a top player, could he do the same to Bree? With bree’s delivery, he could be a dangerous option out there
  20. Nuno is the one for me.
  21. I’d like to see Beattie involved. Thought he spoke well at half time of the Newcastle game. Also, Worked with Che before and seemingly helped get the best out of him.
  22. Agreed. We need a firefighter type at this moment in time. Someone who knows the league & possibly the league below - if we appoint long term. We need points, we need to start being defensively better so we’re not having to score 2 (or more) every game. If we can grind out clean sheets, (maybe head in sand) I think we have enough going forward to steal a game 1-0 on the counter. Over attacking managers like Bosz would be a disaster imo. Poch is a ridiculous suggestion, he’s clearly not going to come here regardless of how much money is thrown at him.
  23. Won’t work, he lost the dressing room. It’s easy to forget how bad things became under Ralph. Not as bad as Jones, but we were heading for relegation make no mistake. Sacking Ralph wasn’t the mistake. Appointing Jones was.
  24. Personally, looking at realistic targets, I’d be going for Nuno. Knows the PL and Championship. Would make us more defensively sound. Plays a back 3, which the senior figures of the club are clearly set on.

The more I think about it, the more I think his position is untenable. I just cannot see a way back from sticking 4 first team players in the u23’s a day before a huge game where you get spanked 3-0. Especially as one of those 4 is fully fit and arguably our best CB. Then there is the throwing players, staff, fans under the bus. There’s simply no way back.
